I love how they gave us an explanation on who we become in these senerios and what we'll rely on over time. They also gave us an explanation that some of these moments have happened in the past. If this were to actually happen at some point in the future, the quote, "Survival of the Fittist," would become relevant.
The discussion about taking care of horses kinda makes me want a post-apocalyptic stable simulator. Just feeding your horses, keeping them well-groomed, protecting them from zombie hordes... You know, normal horse stuff.
The reason only the FEDRA guys were wearing hazmat gear is that there's a chance an infected could directly spread it to them through a bite or a scratch if they turn. In the game, Cordyceps is normally transmitted through mold on food(the original source of the pandemic), airborne spores(only in damp, tight, moldy places like underground buildings and wet areas), or being infected directly by a carrier like a Clicker. So there's no normal need to cover up because it just doesn't transmit through air unless there are a large enough concentration of spores in that area.
@Christian Daniel Yes, but it's in notebooks and journals mostly, like the newspaper in Joel's hometown has a headline talking about infected crops. It might be spoken of at some point but I haven't played it in a while so I can't be sure.
@@Juggtacula yes youre right about the food and crops. As for why theres only two hazmat suit guys I think its because they were inside the building with the infected and the guards werent
@@Big-BossX They were outside though. Like OP said the virus is only transmitted through the air when there’s a high concentration of spores and getting wounded by someone infected. So they’re the only ones wearing suits because they have to be in close proximity to infected and probably research and experiment on the spores. That’s my take anyway.
It's interesting what you said about the toy at 11:40. I do some prepping myself due to poor access to amenities and stores, and often being snowed in for weeks during the winter where we lose power, sometimes water pipes freeze, etc. Something that is always mentioned in prepper communities is that your entertainment or "mental stimulation" need is just as important as food or warmth. When you get bored or lack mental stimulation, that is when you become likely to act out and do something stupid. If you're living with other people, it can make you irritable and cause more arguments or fights. And ultimately, having all the food in the world won't help if you don't have something to manage your mood and stop you from putting a bullet in your skull. It's something that new preppers tend to overlook. The best items are a deck of cards, numerous dice, paper and pencil- pencil shavings and old, used paper can also be used as a firestarter. With just those small items, you can play hundreds of games, and create your own. If your relevant prepped situations are calm and involve you remaining at home (such as with my situation) then you can also get some board games without worrying about weight, size, etc.
Wow. So much to unpack in that video. I absolutely loved the analysis of these post apocalyptic games. Nat and Joe are awesome together, and bring more appreciation to what our heroes in these games are going through. Let's see them react to some Fallout 3/NV/ or 4, or maybe some Sons of the Forest. See their take on our survival games.

Once again Dr bones rocks it :) loved hearing you on the Banzai Prepping Podcast a few weeks back.. great interview. We know with the way things are going this is not too far from possible..
I love when it's showing gameplay of Joel using the sniper in the cul-de-sac area and the one guy was like "idk what he's doing here, he's just wasting all his ammo uhhh idk, idk the context so I'll just assume he's being dumb uuuhh" like did the people at this channel not give them any kind of context before showing them the clips?? This one part just got to me lol makes him sound like he's just speculating and generalizing shit without bothering to know context first 😂 Joel wasn't "wasting ammo" for the sake of just shooting infected, he was trying so save Ellie, Henry and Sam from the swarm running at them 😂😂 Good lord that bothered me more than it should have 😂😂
I wish these kind of games would be a bit more real. Like scarcity of food, upset stomach's every time you eat something suspicious, becoming a toilet roll collector, Using a flint and steel or a fire striker, using bicycles and holding on to it than looking for horses or cars that would have crappy petrol.
It’s baffling, how in-accurately video games get any kind of mass bio contagion or bio chemical warfare incident very incorrectly. Like the dude said, in the beginning, everybody should be covered and wearing ventilators mask, protective I gear, etc. including the guards and surrounding people that are securing that camp due to the fact that yes, if you were to shoot an infected individuals, there were definitely be a spray and spread of the contagions.
In the game it’s stated the virus started from crops and mold/spores. The virus isn’t transmitted through the air unless there’s a high concentration of spores and getting wounded by an infected. It’s not necessary for everyone to wear hazmat suits. The main characters do wear gas mask when going through areas with spores. So yea that’s why only those guys wear hazmats, they’re always in close proximity to infected and spores. Doing test, research, etc. I don’t know about how the game explains dead infected though.
@@_Shay_ that just goes to show how idiotic and moronic the people actually shooting the movie are due to the fact that spores are very highly airborne in any easily transfer from one to another infected individuals/beings so the fact that you think you can easily explain away why only certain individuals need to be wearing them makes both you and the show sound completely moronic
@@lilmsmischief69 Okay to each their own, no need to be rude. Don’t know why you’re directing your angry about 3D models to me but discussions with rude people only lead to arguments and I’m not trying to argue about a game. Have a nice day.

just search "more lithuanians are eating crow" and "fried crow: A traditional lithuanian dish"! you'll find the stories about it. It's also mentioned in the Baltic Review.
Not sure who are writing these weird articles, but I'm actually there every single year. I suggest you actually go visit Lithuania and ask for a crow to eat see what reaction you'll get 😂
Why would anyone be surprised that a 12 year old can drive a manual vehicle? I learned at 11 to drive dad's truck around our farm and I'm pretty sure I'm not the youngest person to ever drive lol.
In this context it was because this is twenty years after the world shut down. Hardly anyone was driving cars, so she learned how to drive in the apocalypse. That's why it was impressive.
@@ThePreparednessGuyOfficial Perhaps, but if she was an apocalypse baby, learning to drive might be pretty important. Especially if their goal is crossing the country. In any case, I never owned a PlayStation when this game came out unfortunately.
@@gregf-stormvejr6892 true, however in the context of the game, need to drive is essentially 0, so only military would have cars that are usable. Too many checkpoints and stops to actually make it viable so as she was born in the city, there is no need or access to learn
I'm ok with people doing a job reacting. "Prepper" is just a fancy word to describe someone paranoiac who prepares for scenarios that have a (very low) percentage of happening. That's not a job. That doesn't require training. That doesn't require knowledge.
You mean, like a pandemic or an earthquake or a chemical spill or a tornado or a hurricane or a flood or a mass casualty incident or violence in the streets? Medical training, learning to grow food, learning communications like operating ham radios, knowing what to do in a natural disaster, and much more are all part of the preparedness skillset, and are useful in more than just zombie apocalypses. Not bothering to learn any of these things in a changing world is foolhardy; self-reliance is not paranoia.
