- It's been a while since I've listened to Florence + The Machine and boy do I have to say, I miss her vibe. Her voice is still undeniably, astoundingly, piercingly unique and her zest can be heard clearly. I adore this music video for so many reasons, and the song. The cinematography for this was A+++
Please check out the original music from the artist to give them more love! They definitely deserve more views than this:

Hi all, I did another reaction to Big God and Free! ua-cam.com/video/UhQwwW6mMWU/v-deo.html
What The Water Gave Me and Never Let Me Go coming up next!
The song is about the uncertainty of creative process during the pandemic and not knowing what the future would hold, not being able to share your art with an audience. "My arms emptied" - being isolated. "The sky's emptied" - no planes are flying. "The billboards emptied" - art and events aren't being promoted. "The buildings emptied" - schools, offices and theaters are all closed. "All my friends are getting ill" etc.
The video is extremely clever on multiple levels. The audience is frozen in time, there's no feedback from them. The setting is a 1920s club, to represent the Spanish Flu pandemic of that era. The heavy breathing at the start and the end are representative of the symptoms of the virus.
It really is stunning art.
Omg thank you so much for the analysis. I did not really pay attention to the lyrics and now that you're drawing it all into focus, *chef's kiss*
You should react to "Free" from the same album! Or Big God (video). Keep in mind that Florence leans towards Avant garde in a lot of her videos. It's fantastic but can be a bit surprising if you're not expecting it ❤
I’ll check these out and record them! Thanks for the recommendations 🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
Hi Lisa! I reacted to Free and Big God! ua-cam.com/video/UhQwwW6mMWU/v-deo.html Please enjoy! 😊
She is pure art eith a voice from God. This was her take on the pandemic. The dancers are her homage to Martha Graham
so gooddd
When I first heard this song and saw the video I instantly compared it to the gay anthems of the 90s and 00s from Madonna, Cher and Kylie. This is the kind of banger you get a dozen remixes of playing in every gay club around the world every night. I don't know what it is, but there's a certain combination of lyrics, style, exuberance, synth and bass that just comes together to make that kind of iconic hit that resonates with a gay audience.
Maybe it's just that we have taste? lol
Haha yes we do! Omg I'm so glad you found me!!! Your description is perfect, a reflection of you. Let me know if there are any artists/gay icons that you would like me to dive into for reactions! Would love to get the community together!!!
