It would be better if Nano-Jason had more screentime. I mean, the movie tagline was, "Evil gets an upgrade", but he didn't get said upgrade until around 5-10 minutes before the end of the film. Kind of a letdown.
For me this is the best entry in the series since Part 6. Cheesy? Yes, but in the best way. Dumb fun. I was hoping for a sequel. I was not a huge fan of Freddy vs. Jason. That to me seemed more canned.
This is my favorite Jason movie. It's bad. I know it's bad. But yeah, it's so much fun i can't help but enjoy it. Also i too have a soft spot for The Butterfly Effect. Though specifically the directors cut. It's such a depressing ending in a really interesting way.
@@hezekiahramirez6965 Oh wow first time someones found me outside of the channel. Thanks so much, you've made my morning! You have any requests for future commentaries let me know lol
If you were looking for Citizen Kane, yes, you'd hate it. Want a dumb Friday night beers around the TV background movie with some attractive and likeable (Canadian) actors? This is perfect. A ton of funny little moments and tributes to other horror movies.
Love the icy face smash scene. Also, upgraded Jason looked AWESOME. Though what a sad shame that Jason is neglected whilst Halloween films keep getting made.
One more thing, the Sharknado does suck, that is except for Sharknado II. This is the movie Sharknado wanted to be. Because Sharknado was sooo successful they were able to throw a bunch of cash into the sequel and it shows. Stil dumb, but ultimately way more cohesive and fun.
Oh no, it's totally not. I love this movie. Yes, it's a bad movie. But it's also very misunderstood. It's a black comedy. I am not a person who disregards this flick. I embrace it and enjoy it. The "premarital sex" line is pure parody. As is a lot of it. It's wonderfully cheesy and tho bad, it's genuinely entertaining and fun
But it's not bad. It knows exactly what it is and delivers on it's premise in spades. I don't believe in the "so bad its good" philosophy. In fact, I've come to resent it. I don't think there is any truth in "ironic enjoyment." It's just enjoyment. The line between irony and genuine enjoyment is razor thin imo and only disappears even more as I get older and my approach and philosophy to art changes. I'm too old to put myself above a film inherently just because. I take everything at face value, as it's given. And yes, that goes for legendary "bad" films like The Room or the work of Neil Breen. A film with ambition that fails spectacularly is something worth honest consideration in and of itself. So I don't like The Room "ironically." I like it for what it is - an incredibly misguided and befuddling attempt by an egocentric goofball to make a serious drama. If someone is liking something with a sneer and a giggle, then you aren't letting yourself meet the film on its own terms. And on it's own terms, Jason X is the plutonic ideal of the gag of "just put it in space."
I think you’d like my Madame Web take - I think the “so bad it’s good” thing *can* take the form of ironic enjoyment, but personally I find a lot of genuine love in the ways that art - even bad art - can become earnestly entertaining.
"Jason X is Better Than You Remember".......I already remember it as a good movie so this means nothing to me.
This video shall be glorious, I have no doubt.

It's my favorite one too. By a lot. It's so wonderfully cheesy. I love your Superboy commentaries, BTW

My favorite Jason movie, and it has a cameo by David fuckin' Cronenberg!!!

The Cell (2000), directed by Tarsem Singh
Literally the only jason movie I've seen, couldn't look away

Just came across your channel and this is some damn solid work. You really know your stuff. Subbed!
I love "Jason X" probably my favorite tbh! 😂

Why doesn’t this have more likes and comments? I won’t allow it!

Whenever says “a movie that’s so bad it’s good” I always say Jason X
movies are pretty cool I think
I thought it was mindless slasher nonsensical fun
I thought it was hilarious
