Great job! The only problem I have with these videos is that every time I watch one, my obsession with these cars gets bigger and I feel even more compelled to buy one.
Well worth the effort , values were really low in my youth time now they comand a decent price , used to hate being seen in my Regal van soon got shut for Jps capri .
Have a look in places like pound stretcher at cleaning products for a “Magic Eraser”, it’s like a sponge and it brings things like hard interior plastics up like new.
@@StevesMachines I can imagine it won’t smell too fresh but it’s interesting watching you bring it back to life. As a small child my father had a silver regal so found your channel because of your other project.
Your lucky those floor seat belt bolts came out, usually the ones for the stalks snap off.......I once had a bloke snap the floor seat belt bolt and then he attacked it with a hammer and chisel so wrecked the outrigger Best thing you can do make yourself some new L shaped brackets for the roller belt out of some Box section so they are nice and tough Those seat mountings too, use some decent stainless bolts and large penny washers, don't use rivets as your just riveting to the shell
I havent managed to get the holders out yet, I'm going to reshape the bolt head now the carpets are out and get the impact wrench back on them. Good shout on the box section, I have a load of that laying about.
I've stripped out a few Reliant Rialto interior's and they all put up a fight. I think you did very well. Try Zorst black magic spray. It's great for diesel injectors so it should work on rusty bolts.
I'm always amazed at the amount of people that attempt to use WD40 as a penetrating oil - it's next to useless, it's a water dispersant. Plusgas or 3-in-1 are my choice.
To be fair it is sold as a penetrating fluid, but I agree there are better out there and I should upgrade. I've heard PB Blaster is the true rock star.
Hey Dole Bandit, the stuff I used is Citra Clean, suitable for all surfaces, based on natural products and biodegradable. You can use it on plastic baths etc and is only a few quid a litre.
Dremil type of thing are really useful, just keep the reciepts as they don't last long, in my experience anyway. Dremil bits are fine but the tool itself is cheaply made and barely lasted the warranty period.
@@StevesMachines if you use rivets you will not be able to remove them again, rivnuts are the dogs nuts for this application, just knock the old ones back into the chassis

🤣 I bought the Regal merely as a crazy looking old car to do a mad bike engine build.... now I have 3 Reliants 🤔
Just nice to see the sun out where you live . Hope you are all doing well after the mine floods
It was only out for a day to tease us.
As for the floods, clean up work is ongoing and the residents affected are battling the coal authority.
What a transformation in the interior it came up really well, excellent video as always.
Cheers 😀
Excellent watchable video, respect to your perseverance , coming along nicely.🙂👍
Cheers, not far off a road trip hopefully

Not long now I hope.
It came out a lot better than I thought. :)
Cheers, I thought the same, I'm excited about seeing it back in one piece now.
Cant beat a nice deep clean. Good job!
Cheers, it was definitely worth. Won't be long now and I'll get to drive it.

Ooooh JPS Capri.... Nice!

I'll check them out when I get to go shopping. This needed something extreme, the car smelt awful as things have been living in it.

I'll be back on the Regal in the coming weeks hopefully.

Cool, I will look that up, thanks. I'm amazed the chassis is so good, it's as though everything else acted like a sacrificial anode 🤣

I recommend just using anti bacterial handwash, Cuts through grease and grime, Safe on human skin so won`t harm the rubber and plastics, And cheap !

its a sure slog but worth it in the end
Getting there 😀

I had one years ago, just like you say the bits were great but the end they go on was terribly weak.
take the plug out
Hey Leslie, if you mean the footwell plugs, they are out but the car is up on a ramp at the front as I'm fixing items underneath 👍
@@StevesMachines o right ,sorry ,mines got water in it and it on the flat
Some does stay in it on the flat too 😀 I've popped an extra hole or two but I still get pools. What model do you have?
@@StevesMachines rialto se
Riv nuts not rivets
I will look into that, cheers 👍

🤢🤢🤢 but needed doing lol was there only me that heard homer’s voice saying “ LOOK MARGE A HELICOPTER” 😂
It was minging! I love helicopters, wish I'd finished my license.... maybe one day.
I did have visions of Homer getting distracted by a squirrel lol
