Long time follower, love the content. Ashamed to say I have never read the Bible. I have looked into it a couple of times and do get a little confused as to why there are so many versions of it..where do I start with that?
Absolutely start with the Gospel and read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Getting started on reading the Bible, any translation is a good starting point. Between my wife and I we have the New Living Translation, New International Version, and the English Standard version, but having different versions for my family is purely for Bible study purposes. Either way, start with the foundation of our faith in Jesus Christ and read the Gospel books. God bless you brother!
Here's my advice to Jerry besides what they said about the book of John. Do some push-ups every day or take some kind of classes for wrestling/fighting. You don't want to become obsessed with your body that's also unattractive but it will give you a certain amount of confidence in handling yourself which is EXTREMELY masculine and attractive. Don't spend all your time indoors playing video games. If you love video games cool but set yourself a time limit and match it with activities besides being glaze eyed; great options would be like helping people with moving, volunteering to mow or such at your church monthly or bi monthly; I guarantee the old dudes currently doing it will teach you more about being a man anyway...hiking is a great activity that doesn't require going into beast mode... And be a protector and leader in whatever regard you can in your workplace, friend circle etc. That doesn't mean being loud or in charge. Just...stick up for those who get picked on; befriend them to some degree. Intervene if you see injustice. You have a voice and as simple as saying that you aren't comfortable with the direction something is going and getting it back on track is being a leader. Not only will women respect these things and notice them, men will also. Because it's not about who can Amp up higher. Sometimes the best leaders are the ones who guide, correct gently, and de-escalate the situations.
FYI Kim Keller also called all right wing Christians terrible people and he also said that he wishes that was an escape hatch to get out of hell and then he just cannot believe the people will go to hell which sounds like universalism to me again you guys need to check up on this guy Tim Keller he is definitely lost his way

They also don’t believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, which is truly remarkable to say the least.
