As the Husband and Father, I do all the outside lights with the kids help, we go as a family to pick out the Christmas tree, I do the tree lights and we all do ornaments together. My wife does all the other decorations in the house. It's such a blessing to do these things together as a family to create those memories and traditions.
Phil, let Kay wash your clothes without the detergents. It might help a little. My dad was born in 1937 and he grew up very, very poor without a mother and he would only change clothes about every week or so as an adult. It would embarrass me as a kid when he came to my school. Now that I am an adult I was so proud to call him my daddy, no matter what he looked like. My dad and mom raised 5 awesome kids. Phil don’t be offended you have definitely dine something right! I am 20 and when my land lord replaceed the thermostat I about had a heart attack because it only had a turn knob and no on and off buttons.😭😂I agree with you guys on the new stuff being too complicated lol
New, low water washers do NOTHING to get clothes clean!! We took back an expensive front loader and asked them to direct us to the most inefficient washing machine...now our clothes are clean again!
I knew I wasn't just seeing thing..my clothes aren't clean either with the low water machine. I miss the older deep filled washers that CLEANED CLOTHES. Our next WILL be the cheapest low tech one. God bless, Merry CHRISTmas.
I think the water efficient washers are for those as Phil would say yuppies. To save water in the big cities. Out in the country thank the Lord for now we still have plenty of well water. I bought a water efficient washing machine years ago. My husband pulled up in the back yard one day. He comes in the house and says to me. Why have you got a water hose running through the window in the laundry room? Not enough water to clean the clothes, so I thought I'd fix this problem with a water hose connected to a faucet. I probably tore the machine up by doing this because it didn't last long. We bought the cheapest machine on the market. No problems for years now.
When we shopped for our machines, the salesman said to us, "off record, what you want is a machine with an agitator and no brain" (nothing digital) he said companies make a fortune on servicing the new digital machines.

The last washer I bought is a no bells or whistles, heavy duty, metal gears, industrial machine. 25 year warranty. No computer mess on it. My thinking is fewer things to go wrong. Wasn't cheap. Cost about $300 more than cheaper plain Jane one. My husband cut right of way for electric company all day then works on the farm. We've worn out several of the regular top loaders. $300 extra well spent.

Phil, I'm with you. Washing clothes takes only two things - water and soap. All you need is an on / off button on the washing machine. And maybe a temperature selector.
We have bought 2 lately and both of them the cheapest that Lowe's had but we did consider the design, tall and the long oval, the one has 2 buttons on top for water saving or get it out fast. $97 each each the best toilets we've ever had. Blessings and merry Christmas, Robert

I agree with Phil on the washer machine issue!!! It’s ridiculous how complicated they are now-- that way they can charge us 10x what they used to. I highly dislike my new washer and dryer. They don’t work like they used to. I want an on off switch too!!
