Hugh Grant stays cool under pressure

- Actor Hugh Grant has starred in countless films. In his latest, he plays a suave character alongside Meryl Streep in "Florence Foster Jenkins." So it was a big surprise when he told our Tracy Smith he was a nervous wreck before stepping in front of the camera.
I adore Hugh Grant and hope he never retires from making movies. Love his self-deprecating interviews, keen intelligence, and enchanting humor. He's refreshing, delightful and irresistible. Je t'aime !
I just love him. He's sincere, intelligent, funny and attractice. Love his deep voice and accent.
This man spreads britishness. Elegance, education and alcohol issues
You forgot the humour, obviously. But you are right. The Brits just have it.
haha that was a good one - oooh, that bloody drinking in Britain!
He's still just a fricking actor! and should stick to acting, I am not in the slightest bit interested in his personal political views!
@@phuckerby --- what can I say, a lot more people are interested in Hugh Grant's political views than in any of your own...
Besides, he hasn't expressed any political views here beyond his belief that victims of crime or other people who have not asked for any kind of celebrity not be hounded by the tabloids, which I think is a perfectly praiseworthy effort.
and humour.
This man is a real heart throb! I love not only his looks but also his honesty, not to speak of his sense of humour! He is so up front. Nothing phoney about him. I do hope he will continue acting in films. I wish him only happiness and lots of good luck.
You're commentating all video clips of him on UA-cam I noticed. Bit obsessed are you?
hedegaard8 How do you know?
@@hedegaard8 hedegaard8: Well, you must be obsessed about Hugh as well if you've noticed that Eve is "commentating" (presumably you actually mean commenting) about the videos of Hugh on here.
@@leicestergirl63 Ha, this was over a year ago and don't even recall seeing this video. And no, commentating is a correct word, also in this context:
commentate (ˈkɒmənˌteɪt)
vb
1. (Broadcasting) (intr) to serve as a commentator
2. (tr) US to make a commentary on (a text, event, etc)
Usage: The verb commentate, derived from commentator, is sometimes used as a synonym for comment on or provide acommentary for. It is not yet fully accepted as standard, though widespread in sports reporting and journalism
Still just a fricking actor!
Hugh Grant. Gorgeous man ever. 64 years old and still hella gorgeous 😍
He makes us laugh because of his sincerity, he cannot conceal his insecurities, so speak clearly about. It makes us trust on him.
Grant finds a way to be honest and still respectful. Well done.
Such a handsome guy that gets better with age. Love your films, Hugh Grant....from 🇺🇸
HE'S MAGNIFICENT.
The reason his hiccup did not sink him is because he faced it publicly, didn’t deny it and did it charmingly. Then we just loved him more and do to this day.
Hugh is so incredibly handsome! Excellent excellent actor. I don't care about his past. This reporter must get over it!
self deprecating humour is one of the best things england has given to humanity, and sadly no other country, perhaps australia only, has ever adopted or copied
juan altredo I wouldn't count Australia in that, one of the most arrogant in the world
juan altredo
that is so not true.
His contempt for Hollywood is heart-warming.
No matter. Delightful nevertheless. :)
@VeloVelo Not necessarily - it can also be a form of down to earth and no nonsense'ness, not arrogance.
ok, hes cute, charming, bright but I think what's really special is how funny and sarcastic he is. genius comedic delivery. impossible to watch and not laugh.
Hugh, don't ever think that we will let you stop acting in movies. We LOVE Hugh Grant movies!
I didn't know him before but I fell in love with him after I watched Bridget Jones
Happen to know who the interviewer is? Seriously cute.
Tired old questions. Shame to waste them on such a charming, intelligent, self-deprecating, funny-as-heck gentleman as Hugh Grant. C'mon CBS Sunday Morning, I thought you could do better.
even old he's so attractive, isn't he?!
AWHHHHHHHHHH HE'S ONLY 56 2016 NOT 87....AND YES..HANDSOME
Luisa A have you seen him in this movie?
More attractive now than in the 90s
@@inessamaria2428 yes.. Better with age!
Being attractive doesn't make him right, he should stick to what he's good at, "acting" because he's a lousy politician!
I agree with him that the media was fair about the reporting, but they pushed it down our throats. So it was true, but come on, enough. He's an excellent actor, an intelligent man and smart enough not to get married.
***** LOL Didn't even realize I said that. Funny... thanks for the 'heads' up.
Werner Voss: Reporting the news isn't supposed to be "fair", only accurate, and it was in this case.
tootz1950 "heads up". You did it again!.
I think he's great. Always have. She forgot Maurice!!!!!
God I love Maurice, but I wish, the Clive would have ended with Maurice
@@Is4bellem4rie Same. I wanted Clive to be happy with Maurice. In the end Clive did love Maurice but he chose duty over love. Both Hugh and James Wilby were brilliant in their roles. For someone so green in the industry (it was Hugh's first proper role) Hugh plays Clive with so much thought and nuance. Conveying the torture, conflict, complexity and sadness of the character.
Hughs best work has been in his most recent work FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS and his Oscar worthy turn in PADDINGTON 2.
Michael Muldowney I love him funny. paddington 2 hugh was just beyond anything. I saw it twice!!!!
Love Hugh Grant.
Why he wasn't cast as James Bond is something of a mystery.
word
Nope
He turned down The Doctor which he's spoken about but Bond is not a Hugh Grant part.
He's better as an office guy
@@JenniferHales Well, he is the Commanding Officer of U.N.C.L.E. He was a little bit like Bond.
I accidentally came face to face with him in the village of NYC where he was filming. We smiled.
Omg really?
He's charming
He’s so easily charming...😏
He's just so cool...
omg i love him even more
wow how is he still so good looking
I have zero interest in Romantic comedy , But Hugh Grant movies were an exception ! ... Im very surprised his time is filled in that tiny office dealing with phone hackers , seems he just wants an ordinary life
Really great interview- thanks for sharing :)
I always thought he was a curmudgeon, but he was downright charming in this interview, particularly when asked about his 1995 arrest. C’mon, it happened over 20 years ago, who cares!
I fell in love with him after 4M1F and I loved him ever since. Hugh is much more than he always pretends to be.
He really aged. He’s still hot
I miss Charles Osgood - his voice, especially, and his kind, lovely manner. He spoke at my graduation, too.
What a good interviewer
Love him great actor!
I loved you in Music and Lyrics. You are a great singer and piano player. And Drew was the perfect flake for her part.
What a man! What a man, what a mighty fine man! HE IS FOINE!!!!!
Very impressed by 'Hacked off'. Thats a good thing. Can Tracy Smith pull anymore faces...
brilliant moral man
My favorite Hugh grant character was in Sense and Sensensibilty
Love him . . .
Hugh, Thank you for entertaining us for years! Some men are just jealous.
This man is sharp..straight slickster
Hollywood only cares about money - Damn, he's too honest.
This man looks gorgeous at every age, don't know how he does it. But he is simply very, classy, likeable and beautiful
Wow, that interview took an interesting turn. Good for him.
Cool how humble he is
He's so cute...even at this age
I've always liked him, and I've always hoped they'd ask him to be the next Doctor in Doctor Who.
Nice interview. Tracy Smith engages really well with him.
Ohhhhhhh I wanna dance with him!
Tracy Smith, congrats! You are very likeable! :)
It would be much easier to go through life if I looked like Hugh Grant.
TheSpiritOfTheTimes I'll tell you what turns on more women then looking like Hugh Grant. Being kind, thoughtful, wanting to be a better person, and a splash of good humor thrown in. That will make your life better, but not easier.
My fave.
Irriterende charmerende mand...😍
Why do men get better with age ... no botox here. Oooh he is yummy.
In another interview (or was it this one?) he said they gave him that floppy haircut, in 4 weddings and a funeral, in order to make him less good looking because the lead role was not supposed to be good looking.
And men all over the world copied that haircut.
Terribly difficult to make him less attractive.
@@rumblefish9 I have seen you in comment sections everywhere recently!
@@085cur1ty i blame Maurice and this pandemic. Watched it a few days ago and rewatched his old romcom movies became obsessed with him (but can you blame me? He's charming). I also watched Another Country so expect to see me in Rupert Everett videos too
@@rumblefish9 same! I watched Another Country when it was available on channel 4- love the story of Guy Burgess, and was blown away by the representation of both gayness and the yearning for an idealistic, radical left society. After that I found out about Maurice and wasn’t going to watch it because everyone said it was so sad, but after learning more about the story and watching far too many Lana Del Ray edits, I decided to give it a go! I really loved the agonising plot, but ultimately the happy ending, and I particularly enjoy the character of Alec Scudder as a representation of the working class- he rightly sees himself as equal and just as worthy as Maurice and the other rich characters. Such films give much food for thought, happiness and they have really left permanent marks on me! I am also obsessed with the aesthetic lol. Should I read the book?
Very cute
He sounds exactly the same under pressure 😂
I agree with his views on marriage.
Gosh! I think people can stop talking about the incident RIGHT NOW.
I went to the same school as this guy.
Tracy has interesting facial expressions
hes hot!!
why do u keep bringing up the '95 incident?!?! you could have used the time for a better question. grrrr.
Hugh hire me!
Tracy Smith ... oh does she have the HOTS for him!!! :)
hes the man. the only actor or celeb to wear a wire for the cops to stand up to phone gate where the media moguls slurped police investigation information and celeb gossip. this man has balls the size of chick norris.
Not just that. Grant exposed media tapping of crime victims' phones.
I wonder why he wasn't chosen for and as Superman... he wd hv bn so fantastic
Even old, he's still nice looking
Brid Phelan 56 is not old!
I like him a bit humbled
Hugh looks like one of those hot Brits in Texas! Very hot!
I think the interviewer wants him...
Yes, it was embarrassing and irritating to watch. For goodness sake!
She is rough.
Who doesn't?
Can you blame her? :D
Who bloodly well doesn't. I've wanted the man consistently for the last 25 years.
he looks like james stewart😃
😊
I'm 54...he's 55...that means we're the same.
The interviewer is so unappealing. Something about her expressions. They seem to be insinuating so much all the time.
I think it's the eyes. They have a real predatory look about them. Something between a gossip columnist's and a shark's.
Well, I never watched his romantic movies, I don't like this genre, and I didn't find him attractive when he was young. But this man since his forties onwards, is superbhot to say the least. I like younger men, this one is the exception. I like his looks, his personality, his voice... which is rare because I hardly like any man or actor.
Barbara Streisand w trousers lol
L'homme est sympathique brilliant, honnête ! Mais çet accent oxfordien 😝
First thing I thought was, are they going to ask about the hooker... Good for them! Given, it was twenty years ago, but my heart still sunk for Liz Hurley.
Why do they always have to bring up that one incident. For crying out loud, let it go.
He kinda sounds like David Gilmour
6:53 Yes, Prime Minister?
SEPT HE'S 56 NOW...NOT 55.......AND HANDSOME......FYI: FOR THAT FILM, THEY ONLY MADE HIM DO THAT DANCE ONCE!
Yes, even after being arrested for soliciting prostitutes, Hugh always stays COOL under pressure man, then calls his lawyer. Are you kidding me!
Still looking for his big break at 34 years old. He deserves what he has.
Hugh paid a fine, was placed on probation while Divine was jailed for 3 months, $500.00 fine and had to attend sex safety classes. Had she been a celebrity, I doubt that she would have received anything more than a slap on the wrist!
To be fair, he also had to attend safe sex classes. And in most countries the penalty for a prostitute soliciting a client is usually stronger than that for a client soliciting a prostitute. I'm not saying it's right or fair (in my opinion prostitution should be legalised and regulated anyway), but that's how it works regardless of if you're a celebrity or not.
Sarcastically Deranged you also forgot to mention that Divine Brown's life was made better after the scandal. Because of the money she earned from interviews and appearances, she was able to buy a house and send her 2 children to private school. She was able to permanently get off the streets and stop hooking.
Wow, 3:00- Hurley looks ready to fall out of that dress (or have it yanked down in lust). Drool.
I wonder, that woman with abysmal neckline, how comfortable does she feel
I find the interviewer's expressions so condescending.
jakedaniels 881981 I would agree 100 %. She was hot to trott.
Like the blond fringe on the babe
the cast of this movie... shall i see it because Grant is sooo brilliant, or not becuase Streep is such an eye-sore...
I saw it for Mr Grant and was not disappointed, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, enjoy the film.
Who would like to see Hugh Grant and Meg Ryan in a movie together?
That would be perfect.
Not many, I assume as Meg Ryan can't act and did a horrible face job.
and she is is apparently rude and acts the div.........so lets say not
Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
3:08 A good scandal
ahh
This individual wouldn't know what pressure is as he lives in a vacuum
No, she i
She is an irritating interviewer and a bit fawning.
