    I've had one beeping in a box for 5 years. Thank you for showing me how to turn off the alarms! Lol.

      HAHA, you're welcome!
      Get that baby out of the box and onto your wrist; you'll be surprised how good it is in day-to-day wear!

    Hi Jeremy, I just wanted to follow up on my last comment. I got this G-Shock 2 or 3 weeks ago, and I love it. I wear it everyday for work. I'm constantly filling out paperwork, and the day, date, and time, all at one glance, really comes in handy. The numbers are big enough that I don't my glasses to see them. The watch itself, is just the right size. It's not big and bulky like the other G-Shocks. Thank you for making this video.

    I have this watch for 10 years now and still uses the stock battery. The illuminator does not turn on anymore due to the weak battery but the other features are alright. The only weakness it has is the rubber strap which I have replaced 4 times. The original intended strap for it is quite expensive but there are cheap knock-offs readily available.

    I got this watch and I am happy with this choice, a very nice one.

    Very nice option. I struggled choosing the right G-shock as I want a lot of features but nothing useless like moonphase immediately after I hit the mode button from standard time keeping mode. I currently wear the GW9400-1 rangeman, it covers everything I need and I find it incredibly useful but it is too bulky to wear without issue everywhere. Love all the alarms, 1 button stop watch start from standard time keeping mode, atomic time and the additional outdoor features. Solar power is overrated imo but still cool. I would love to see Casio come out with it in a smaller size because no other G-shock module is executed quite as well. I could go on forever about it but this one peaked my interest, will keep it in mind, thanks.

      It's my favorite one, so far.
      Re. solar being overrated, I agree, when there is a conventional offering with a 10 year battery! Solar-recharged batteries eventually go bad too, and when they do, it's likely that it won't make sense to replace them.
      I hear you on the bulk. I had a GD350, about which I loved everything except its bulk. It was a pain in the wrist in the winter here. (I reviewed that one elsewhere on my channel) It had one button access to the TIMER, which I use more than the stopwatch, from the home screen. Also, vibrator alarm and the alarms default to "1-time" instead of daily. Some nice touches, it's a shame they're not putting these nice touches into their conventional line-up.
      I do find atomic time sync to be much more useful than solar. The G2900 does gain maybe 10 seconds per month. It's still great accuracy, but once you get used to atomic, it's hard to go back.

    *_Question: Is the length of these bands short like they are in this model's 'cousin' line, the 2310s? I have 2310R & GW-2310 and I w/o any reticence call foul on the band length in these models. I'm benighted to my wrist width, I don't reckon its too big. I'm a short dude with small hands & I don't believe my forearms to have a wide girth._*

    • @Smaug1
      @Smaug1  5 років тому

      No. This one has a nice long band. I have a small wrist, 6-3/4", but this one wraps almost all the way around.

      It's just an analog counter.

      You're welcome! I still love this watch, many years later. It's probably about due for its 10 year battery change...

    *_Lastly, for you Solar/Atomic loyalists (I'm a religious follower of them also) when you wax tired of changing those batteries out that Jeremy D mentioned, before you toss the G-2900 out, just remember me & message/e-mail me for my address!! Thanks. Ha ha._*
    *_Considering the functions of this time piece, it is most assuredly underrated. I've overlooked & dismissed this model for years when shopping for another Casio. Erstwhile in Wal-Mart, seeing it in the glass case & only taking a cursory glance, I thought the shark fins were hideous & most essentially, it isn't Solar/Atomic. Shame on me. But that's why I come to YT to observe the reviews on different models._*
    *_Yo, the chrome bezel encircling the dial is dope partna!! Lord willing, this is my next Casio purchase. !!!!!!I don't care what my wife says about my watch addiction, that I don't & won't be seeking a panacea for. Shoot, I could be an adulterer. 😊 If the G-2900 is as thick & bulky as some say that's a plus for me. I don't have a preference for thin and narrow watches. The only watch line that I know of that's literally bulky and stodgy on the wrist is the Invicta Magnums. Boy..._*

    • @Smaug1
      @Smaug1  5 років тому

      Re. accuracy, I've found that this one gains time a lot faster when of the wrist than on. I think Casio adjusted it to be most accurate when left on the wrist!

      Jeremy D *_I’ll note that & keep watch. I normally reset my non-Atomic/Wave Ceptors on the 1st of every month. As far fetched as that initially sounded to me, it could very well be plausible..........._*

    Is this close to the size and fit of the dw5600?

    • @Smaug1
      @Smaug1  5 років тому

      Yes. It's a bit thicker, but the interface is a lot better. (5 buttons instead of 4) Diameter is about the same and comfort is about the same.

    *_Smart man for not displaying your sensitive info. Its a shame that you had to do that but the natural hereditary sin nature that we obtained from our progenitor Mr. Adam (no last name) subsequent the Fall in the Garden, overcomes many of his children to commit acts of stealth/theft._*
    *_Just a suggestion here: is/was there a way for you to input a new entry for non-extant info so that we could've seen the function?_*

      I could wipe it all out, as those passwords have already changed by now. The jist of it is that the 7-segment LCDs show the memory slot number and the rest is scrolling via the dot matrix LCD below.
