This keyboard is probably intended as a sort of loss leader for keychron. They sell this to people as their first mechanical keyboard expecting they will come back an buy a higher quality one at some point.

More likely that they just realize that they are losing some market share at the price points below $50, because there are people like me that won't pay $50 or more for a keyboard unless it's life-transforming and keyboards, just aren't even though I type a lot every day in my profession. I own a C3 Pro but will never buy a more expensive keyboard, nor will I never upgrade it beyond replacing the keycaps once they get huge dents from years of use.

Or they could use it to upgrade and customize it. My first mechanical keyboard was a Logitech POP Keys (Don't ask why) and now I have this specific keyboard in the video. It works actually well

I was little bored and decided to apply masking tape mod to this keyboard to try to insulate, get rid of that plastiky hollow sound when typing. Applied couple of layers to the bottom of the bottom case, put OEM foam it came with, then applied 2 layers of the masking tape behind the PCB. I already had O-Rings added, and I have to say I really like how quick and how well the improvement was made, just with the masking tape. Thock is now little deeper and more defined. I was considering next getting the Sorbothane pad 12x6x0.10 duro 40 to add that too.

I actually think you are wrong. I think this is the keyboard for literally everyone who wants to dip their toes into the world of mechanical keyboards. $35? dude that's literally cheaper than groceries lol

Agreed. They are on sale for $28 so just ordered 2 more as gifts. Both for people who I'd guarantee are never going to ever even think about swapping switches, and they'll both want me show them how to disable the LEDs. LOL One friend likes to write stories on her older laptop but was jealous when I was helping her with her taxes and I plugged in a mechanical keyboard and let her use it. And the other for my brother who I'm giving a gaming desktop to replace his 12 year old CELERON based laptop. The USB-C port, it's cable routing features, and from a brand whose built a good reputation make it a great deal at $35.

I bought one before watching. Came to see if I can change the color, but considering I was using a shitty dell keyboard from the 2010s, $35 for this kind of upgrade seemed really good to me. So far I like it, but then again, I know nothing about keyboards

I bought the C3 Pro keyboard. I was using a Hyper X TKL one, and so far I like the typing experience better. Wish it had RGB, but for $35 can't really complain.

This keyboard is probably the true gateway drug into the keyboard space
Atleast for me. I was not about to spend more than $50 on a keyboard that I might not find any benefit from.
The only thing for me to do now is learn soldering.

At that point just buy both switch variants. They have linear and tactile I'm pretty sure

  • @Shoxky

I just recieved mine and so far its really good of course its really cheap so I was expecting it to be very bad tbh but I really like how it sounds and its stabilizers are amazing especially compared to other similar price points. Also I dont really care that much about modding so it being non hotswappable does not really affect me but I get why it may be a reason not to buy it for some. (it is also on sale for 28 dollars as im writing this so its def worth it if your on the fence about buying it)

I bought one when my HyperX died and I needed a quick replacement love it. Will probably use it for a few months while I research good budget keyboards. This keyboard made me, someone whose not big into keyboards (I say as a mouse enthusiast), want to get into keyboard modding and I'm a big fan of Keychron for that.

Can you make a video on how to use the Via software to create key combinations for ascii codes?
This it's my first ever ''mechanical'' & TKL keyboard and I can do spanish accents ascii codes combinations. Obviously I don't know how to create a macro or modify a layer to do so. And I don't want to use a software if the keyboard can do it.
    Regards

Its quite a perfect keyboard what it is in my opinion. It has all the right compromises for basic needs to reach the price point. I hope Keychron would make ISO versions as well for international audiences, that for me is the biggest turnoff and also the transportation costs. By the way the comment was typed on the k3 pro

as a 100% requirement person, keychron's existence has been a blessing. the Q6 pro and K10 pro has been the best simply from the point it doesn't have much alternatives. Most custom(izable) keyboards are at most TKL, maybe 70-75%. Almost none have a num pad.

I'm looking at this and the Logitech g413 tkl se, it's $45 on Amazon with an aluminum top. I'm a keyboard novice, the only thing that makes me hesitant on the Logitech is the cable not being removable. I believe the Logitech uses pbt key caps. Both seem like great deals for the price. Any other keyboards you recommend under $50, if there are many? Thanks

You under sell it its a great Keyboard. My Desk Keyboard is Hyper Alloy Origins. On the days I have to physically go to work with Hot Desk space no assigned seating and they cable manage the crap out of the crap KB and mouse that are awful. So I am like what TKL can I find to shove in my bag 2-3 days a week. Bam $34 bucks and its has a really nice feel to it and its backlit. Of course you can find something better, but at two to three times the price.

The key markings are hard to see without the lights on but to turn them on and off, press function (FN) & Tab keys.
