    Your approach of drilling out welds and removing sheet metal to do rust repairs and other body work... Really impressive. And not often seen on UA-cam.

      Thank you! If I don't do it now, the car will continue to fall apart. Thank you for your comment. It is greatly appreciated. I am far from a professional but I do know what should be done to minimize the death of a treasured vehicle. Thank you again and stay tuned. There will be more and I hope some better video. I am green in that department.

    I remember the 4 door 69 Dodge truck a friend of mine I did that circa 1991 or so. We did not know YET that you could separate the outter skin like that but we learned after talking to a guy at a salvage yard. This older guy Otto Guzman has been a mentor for years now. He wanted in on helping us and he is still rated at 195% the best teacher any young guys coulda had on a project. he stayed late with us drank beer got filthy with us it was awesome to have a mentor like Otto. I would love to have in a video on my channel just for nostalgia sake of saying here is a real body man and one damn fine teacher...

      That's cool! I learned the same way back in the late 70's. It is a fading art for sure.

    Thanks for posting the update. Great job on fixing the door, I wish I could weld and do bodywork on my scooby van she's rough and I Dumbledore let my ex friend cut the metal filler area under her side doors off to replace in the early 1990s and been off since I have a replacement.

      Thank you for the comment and compliments. I'm just an old fart that is using some old school talent that I learned back in the 80s but its fun none the less. I will be the first to admit I'm not perfect but I do the best I can always. Thank you for supporting the project. Make sure you share yours as well. 58 Edsel's are not around much any more! Stay tuned for more!

    I have an old issue of an automotive trade magazine called Motor from 1962. It details in pictures an article entitled Speedier repairs on a rollover. The car was a 1960 Pontiac. The time and labour involved was just staggering on a two year old car and would not be done today with labor costs what they are. The work your putting into your Pontiac is a labor of love. Big difference! I can relate as I brought my rusted rat infested 65 4door 6cyl falcon with roof and windshield damage back looking like new again. It has memories money can't buy!😊

    • @1958PontiacSafariRescue
      @1958PontiacSafariRescue  11 місяців тому +1

      You got that right! and I remember the magazine. I am at well over a thousand hours in body work so far and I am not done yet. It is a labor of love for sure. I have owned two Falcons. A sprint was my first car at the age of 14. Then I bought a futura. Both were 64's. Wish I never sold them. Lots of memories indeed. I hope to finish this to the driving stage this summer and have it complete next summer. We will see. Thank you for your comments. There will be more to come.

    Might I suggest you make your videos longer. I f you get into the money making part of you tube, a longer video means more ads can be shown. Also include some time lapse and real time video on how you are doing the repairs since there are so many different ways to do repairs (compared to Carter auto restyle, or Puddins Fab Shop channels). FYI Puddin found that length of video didn't matter most viewers watched 50% of them, so doubling the length or his video he greatly increased his income). My Yeoman is a 2 door on a 4WD chassis, so I'm interested in this build.

      Thank you so much for the advice. I am new to this and everyone seems to have their own opinion of how to run a channel and videos. Because of the model of car, my audience appears to be 90% 55 and older. Kind of surprised about this. I take everyone's feedback positively. I know I need to invest in more equipment for better quality video and audio to make the process more professional. I also agree that longer is better and that I need to include time lapse and real time video. Again I am learning.
      Sadly I started the car 3 years ago now and have mainly images only. I am only just now starting the channel and video recording so its all I have to start with. I also do not want to start in the middle of the project. I will watch the channels you suggest to use as some samples for mine. Please be patient as I learn and again, thank you for your feedback. Its important. Send a pick of your Yeoman! Id love to see it!
