My Dad had a 64 Wagon, and that poor thing was a FARM TRACTOR (yes with a plow behind it) every years for at least 8 yrs that i remember, Took my Dad to work sometime 7days a week, and took the family to Church on Sundays and lasted us 16yrs. It had the old trusty 289 witha C-4 transmission, and taught me how to drive in high school.
Oh, the early sixties. Our family had a 352 c.i. Galaxie 500 4 door hardtop. My uncle (my dad's sister's husband) bought a 2 dr. 390 Galaxie in '63 with a "3 on the tree" standard tranny. My dad followed that with a solid black '64 Galaxie 390 4 door hardtop and medium gray interior. Man, that car was soooo pretty (for a 4 door). A friend of my dad had a black 390 Galaxie just like ours except an XL with a creme ivory white interior. THAT car, I must admit, was even prettier than ours! The 2 cars were identical except for his friend's car's white interior and XL trim. THAT car was probably the prettiest, sportiest, 4 door car I've ever seen. I should say that both cars had Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmissions. A black '64 4 door XL with white interior has to be one of the finest looking 4 door cars ever produced.
@daleandrews3552 - My Mom picked up a low mileage '64 Galaxie 500 XL 2 dr. hardtop in black with red interior and white headliner. It had a 352 4bl. 3 spd. auto. I put baby moon hubs and chrome exhaust extenders on it. Even die hard Chevy lovers admitted it was one beautiful car. Personally, I think it was the best looking Ford of any model that they ever made. Unfortunately, my Brother-in-Law borrowed and totaled it in the rain in Long Island. I never forgave him for that! Dad bought a new '68 Galaxie 500 XL hardtop with the 390 2bl. and a C-6 automatic. The car cruised like it was idling at 115 mph. It was a select-shift trans and I could get the tires to chirp shifting it to 2nd at 55 mph! Great memories and fun with both of those cars!

@terrycaldwell1132the 63.5 Galaxie went to more of a Fastback type roof while the early 63’s still had the more “boxy” squared roof like a 62 so they call em Boxtops
@@Ulfstigandrno I’m saying in early 1963 the roofs are the exact same roof as a 62. They had a hardtop and a sedan but roof is the same except the pillar. If you got a “63 1/2” model it’s the “fastback” hardtop roof only. 64 is different. In 63 there is a mid year difference
Never been a fan of Flowmasters. I always preferred turbo mufflers. Still throaty enough but not annoyingly loud. I'm not sure what that engine has, but it's begging for a better cam and full length headers.
Why is he Reving a cold engine and turning on the head light on be fore starting it? Is this the New craze did touch The exhaust manifold before as well
I had glasspacs on my 65 ford.it sounded ok.But really fords don't get the potato potato. Like Chevy or Dodge. And the front springs in the engine bay. Ridiculous to put them in the way.
As a FE enthusiast & owner I'll be real, she sounds good but flowmaster is one brand stay away. Our dinos need easy flow from heads down & out exhaust. Hooker aerochamber are similar to flows but straight thru with chambers.

@rich4277 it was an option even in 64 iirc. Get the "formal top" or the "sport roof". There was even the sedan, with b-pillers separating windows.

Yes stock motor but a 352
never made a 302 in 63
