Looks like the Little Pinky princess is holding camera for you at times. You are the dream outdoor dad that kids these days needs to have, when most of kids these days are doing is, video gaming in their dark room. Keep it up Lars.
I see the star of the show is back, hello to the pink troll! We really enjoy watching you guys. Stay warm! My youngest troll is dreaming of snow, we get very little here.
"my pink troll" is now 29 yrs old and married! Enjoy her as much as you possibly can! Also very informative video! I'm a new sub. I'm nearly 60 and retire U.S. Navy. I like the real word survival techniques and wish you well and the best.
We love pink trolls! She seems to be a good kind of troll..doesn't complain much...or use the power...you know the power of she has daddy wrapped around her little finger...lol...that's not bad, It's great to see wonderful Dads. Tell the trolls mother we said you deserve a break today and she should go easy on you since your such a great dad.
Your videos are great Lars. Out playing in the snow with your awesome daughter! I grew up here in central California US without any snow. It looks like a lot of fun and it looks suuuuuper cold... Great memories being made for both you and the pink troll! Love your awesome channel! -Mark
Your skis are a great and logical improvement over the long, narrow ones of many years ago. They were a struggle to control in deep powder going downhill.
Thank you again, Lars! Good luck at trial with Survival Russia Mom... A few episodes ago you mentioned you may share another story from your history. Tell us a story! (Obviously when your pink troll is around it may not be appropriate to share war stories.) We're also looking forward to the next steps on the Survival Russia Vehicle!
The hunter skis are much superior for deep snow, easier on and off also. MSRs are only good in shallow snow or packed snow around a well used area. I vote in your defense at the Mama Russia trial. Thank you Lars and troll for a fun video.
Love your videos. I live in Canada and your climate is similar to where I live, in British Colombia. So i love learning how Russians get along with the forest. Keep up the great work!!!
Another good video. I remember walking home from a neighbors in winter as a kid on top of the ice layer but less than a mile from home it got thin and I went up to my waist over and over in the snow, It was killer and I was exhausted from it. The skis definitely work.
Kudos to you and the Pink Troll Lars, awesome. Yes the snow in your neck of the woods is deep, not like here. Crazy weather. Awesome video and have a great week.
I'm a blacksmith's assistant and I can attest to the ski clothing comments in this video... Recreational clothing will melt - I mean, MELT - once it get shot enough.
Now the Snow House is a Troll House. Every time you go by, you must pay the toll of cookies and candy. Wheres that Danish aquavit - toss some on the wood, and easy starting a bonfire. Need to harness up Deputy Dawg and have a skiing ride. Same for dawg and sit-down snow ski sled for the troll.
Good video Lars. Having raised up a Pink Troll of my own, plus her little brother, I qualify to say enjoy her while you can because those trolls, regardless of color or gender, grow like weeds and will soon be out on their own. Mine are nearing Middle Age already, yikes!
Great to watch the little pink troll enjoying herself despite the cold. Hope the ordeal you had on your return because of the burns to the clothing wasn't too bad? Looks like your hunter skis are the best in those conditions. All count on the things that have worked the best for you. Take care...
Even though the Russian skis are somewhat narrow, their overall surface area is doing a great job of keeping you out of the snow, kind of like water skis in water. Yes, please do a 'day after Mrs' video LOL
I watched your video a week or so ago where you calmly discussed how you got caught in crossfire... you seemed more worried about your wife when she sees your little one burnt her cloths. Great video as always. You should sell some of those skis yourself, I think there would be demand here internationally.
Lars, if things get too bad there in Siberia, if the Pink Troll and Pink Troll Mom drive you out of Russia for your survival, you can always stay in the hot, humid, alligator and Awsome sized mosquito infested, semi-tropical pine forest with me, ummm, as long as you do all the hunting, skinning, trapping, fishing, shelter building, cooking, laundry and house cleaning. You are sooooo much better at it than me. And I have only some 20 years on you my friend. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, you are a troll-sitter too.
Cool video. As you know, we never ever will get that kind of snow here in DK. Wow, that's beautifull. I had the same problem with one of my pink trolls - I got kid-size "kedeldragter" from the cheap tool store to protect the pink nylon.
Maple season will be here in a month or so (north east US), and we have snowpack like you do. We navigate it with the MSR type snowshoes because we are working in between trees carying buckets and have to be able to manuever tight spaces, but I do see the value of the Russian skis for packing down the main pathways... ...the Troll has a voice....nice ;)...love yer channel
I am really liking those skis Lars! I was considering a pair of the surplus Canadian Snow shoes but seeing what happened to yours I will stick with my MSR's!
Awesome video as always Lars! I miss-read the title as "Russian SKS vs. snowshoes" xD I was thinking it'd be a pretty unfair fight... Those US snowshoes look like They'd work well for storage or being packed. Too bad your Canadian shoes broke. Winter sports clothes aren't too good at things other than sports. Oh, and you're as good as dead, Lars xD Goodluck attempting to survive the misses... I've gone to that Swedish surplus store. Gotten a bit obsessed, actually xD Thanks for sharing it!
Haha stand trial! Aslo in Canada I've hunted in shorter wider snow shoes called bear paws. better for in the trees so you don't get tangled up. might be worth looking into. Keep up the good work!
Could you please give some dimensions on the skies and binding.I watch you every day and do love your beautiful daughter, brings back memories as my grandchildren were small. All the best from northern Canada.
The skis are 175cm X 14cm. The binding is just a heavy duty nylon strap adjusted to the size of the boots I'm wearing. Thank you for the comment Charles :)
thank you for your excellent videos! i have bren watching those skis and should we get the sniw we used to - i would certainly see about getting a pr. on another video you explained how if you fell your boots could just slip out and recover your balance. that sold me on them! as for your pink troll- it isnt worth it to be more worried about staying brand-new instead of embracing lifes adventures you might want to just invest in "adventure winter gear" that she can beat up! this is coming from a mom! haha
Great and informative video Lars. Two questions though. 1.) would there be a benefit in bringing ski poles for the hunter skis and 2.) you're terrain is pretty flat. How do the hunter skis fare if you have a lot of hills in your terrain (like I do, some of them really steep).
Funny thing about those Canadian snowshoes. I had a pr. of those for years and they didn't break. Maybe you got one that was flawed. Must be carefull with snowshoes to not bridge something (that is to step with weight where only the tip and tail is supported and the middle of the shoe unsupported such as two parallel trees buried beneath the snow. I'd expect the shoes to maybe give a bit less support than the much larger skiis but try getting around in tight quarters like a swamp or heavy forest with the boards on your feet. Still, I'd really like a pair of those skiis...Really enjoy your vids..
The forest wore them out. There are lots of logs and empty voids under the snow. The snowshoes is made for open spaces I think. I don't have problems with logs and voids on the skis. The skis are narrower than the snowshoes, so it's just a question of "tip-placement" when navigating denser forest.
enjoyed the comparison and have had a few bad days on conventional snowshoes...the larger traditional snowshoes have much better flotation than even the best modern versions...i can see the skis are superior in many ways...say howdy to the troll...woods
1 more Sub Lars and 55,000 ! Congrats eh ! The Pink Troll is a good travel companion! ,,,Take Care and Yet another useful video ! ,,,Cheers ! ,,,,Spook
We won't be seeing you tomorrow 😨 You will be in Momma Survival Russia Pennetentury serving time incarcerated for almost burning the Pink Troll. Our prayers for a speedy release !! 🙏🙏🙏
lol he got in such big trouble, reminds me of my first hike in the bush with my 4 year old daughter, she got a whole bunch of booboos. its been a few years since and she still reminds me everytime i take her out.
We should all have a pink troll as cute as she is. I wondered as I saw her by the campfire...do they have marshmallows in Russia and do the kids there roast them over the fire?
Maybe I missed it but pls could you tell more about the skis? What kind of kick surface is it, like fishscale or does it need waxing ? Are they very different to classic xc skis? Thanks!
Thanks! Here in the CZ, there's lots of evergreen forest and usually cold winters, so a lot of people do XC skiing. These type of skis I think they call them "back country" here, but am not sure. Anyway it's too late to buy, all the snow just melted near where I live :(
I bought a pair of Atlai Hunter skis, for $300.00 have yet to use them, no snow by me. I also have some snow shoes. I may have to head north to use them.
You can survive a Russian winter, but will you survive your wife? Stay tuned!
Ayyy
Haha
Looks like the Little Pinky princess is holding camera for you at times. You are the dream outdoor dad that kids these days needs to have, when most of kids these days are doing is, video gaming in their dark room. Keep it up Lars.
Yes I made her the cameraman of the day. It went OK :) It was actually a pretty tough trip for her. If I have the time I will tell tomorrow. Thanks!
I see the star of the show is back, hello to the pink troll! We really enjoy watching you guys. Stay warm! My youngest troll is dreaming of snow, we get very little here.
Me and my wife, we love it when you´re on tour with the "pink Troll".
Well done Lars! Greetings from Germany
Thanks for the Vid and love seeing the little Pink Troll. Glad you were not in too much trouble with Mrs Lars :)
That is seriously deep snow. Those hunter skis really work well. Tell the pink troll hi from Canada
Yes it's well deep, and deeper in the forest, because there it's not as wind packed. Thanks Karl!
I can imagine. Same in my forest. Always more snow and very loose.
"That is to the eggs actually."
Bwahaha, Lars you crack me up!
"i'm in trouble"
Yep, nice channel, friend. It was fun while it lasted :D
"my pink troll" is now 29 yrs old and married! Enjoy her as much as you possibly can! Also very informative video! I'm a new sub. I'm nearly 60 and retire U.S. Navy. I like the real word survival techniques and wish you well and the best.
I think we can all say "We feel your pain!!". LOL Cute little troll though!
The real survival began after this episaode! xD
....and good luck with the Mrs 🔥
are there kids versions of your gear?
khalina I hope not, child soldiers are a war crime.
Boreasrex11 it is? Hmmm.
Hoow??? How she managed to burn her cap?Amazing:)
1 thumb up for the video and one thumb up for the beloved pink troll.
Two NINJA in training must return to face their Master....
Thanks as always Lars!
Thanks buddy :)
great way to get the little one out to learn some outdoor stuff
Your videos are great Lars. Out playing in the snow with your awesome daughter! I grew up here in central California US without any snow. It looks like a lot of fun and it looks suuuuuper cold... Great memories being made for both you and the pink troll! Love your awesome channel! -Mark
About time you had the troll with you. I think that a lot of us enjoy seeing her, & soon she'll be too grown up to be the little pink troll anymore.
Your skis are a great and logical improvement over the long, narrow ones of many years ago. They were a struggle to control in deep powder going downhill.
Always good with the Pink Troll :) Hunter skis are awesome, it seems.
Thank you again, Lars! Good luck at trial with Survival Russia Mom...
A few episodes ago you mentioned you may share another story from your history. Tell us a story! (Obviously when your pink troll is around it may not be appropriate to share war stories.)
We're also looking forward to the next steps on the Survival Russia Vehicle!
IYou watched the whole video :) Thank you! I will get on with the S-R vehicle once the cold passes.
The hunter skis are much superior for deep snow, easier on and off also. MSRs are only good in shallow snow or packed snow around a well used area. I vote in your defense at the Mama Russia trial. Thank you Lars and troll for a fun video.
love those skis. I am envious of the snow, we have had almost none here this season, so no skiing. good luck with momma........
Love your videos.
I live in Canada and your climate is similar to where I live, in British Colombia. So i love learning how Russians get along with the forest.
Keep up the great work!!!
You are awesome! Thanks for all the videos, from Canada.
Very good information. Thanks
I love your helper. She is the cutest and so hardy.
Another good video. I remember walking home from a neighbors in winter as a kid on top of the ice layer but less than a mile from home it got thin and I went up to my waist over and over in the snow, It was killer and I was exhausted from it. The skis definitely work.
Waist deep snow is really hard to walk in. Almost impossible. Well done!
Thank-you.
Thank you too :)
Mom's gonna be mad at Dad. Lol. Great video. Cheers from Canada.
Thanks for another great video. Please keep them coming. This is one of my favourite channels.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! Homeboy's in trouble!!
Hahaha I knew by the title your little one was with you! Cheers from Canada
Bet you did Eric :)
Cutest troll I ever saw!

Hunter skies are not used in Eastern EU.

Hy Lars! I hope you survive Mrs Lars! Greatings to her and the little pink troll! Take Care Michel
To the eggs. 😂 I almost asked what the thermometer was reading.
Ohh yeah! Almost :) Around -20C give or take.

Stand trial....love it! Good luck
Kudos to you and the Pink Troll Lars, awesome. Yes the snow in your neck of the woods is deep, not like here. Crazy weather. Awesome video and have a great week.
Wow ! the pink troll is shooting up like a weed :)
Those hunters skis are intriguing. I use the MSRs but occasionally I break the binding straps in less than -20. Cheers
"Up to the eggs" 😂😂
We love the pink Troll! lol

great video again Lars, more , more, more :)
what is the verdict😀. Your daughter is very cute. She brings her natural curiosity and family warmth to your videos. Very enjoyable.
Good video Lars. Having raised up a Pink Troll of my own, plus her little brother, I qualify to say enjoy her while you can because those trolls, regardless of color or gender, grow like weeds and will soon be out on their own. Mine are nearing Middle Age already, yikes!
Great demo Lars

thank you so much for sharing. agreed, your skis are the best. beautiful daughter, hope you didn't get into to much trouble..lol

Mom recently bought those trousers, and the hat. She actually took it pretty well I must say :) Skis are really horrible to ship :)
Pink troll is a fire hazard lol. I've never been in deep snow like that it looks so daunting.
Very nice video, and thank you for showing more of the hunter skiis :) Here in Norway they sell the exact same model, but for 230$....
Thank you :) 230$!! Holy crap.. Here they are exactly 2600 Rubles in the shops.
You are in so much trouble, hahahaha Great video!!!!
Another great video, awesome. Hope all goes well with the wife. Noticed deputy dog was absent, maybe he was behind Lars wife, out of the line of fire.
We all answer to a higher authority!
Yes! :)
Cool video. As you know, we never ever will get that kind of snow here in DK. Wow, that's beautifull. I had the same problem with one of my pink trolls - I got kid-size "kedeldragter" from the cheap tool store to protect the pink nylon.

I am really liking those skis Lars! I was considering a pair of the surplus Canadian Snow shoes but seeing what happened to yours I will stick with my MSR's!
Yes, do that :) Nice to know the video was of real use to somebody :)
Survival Russia Lars, your videos ALWAYS teach me something new and I really get a lot out of them!
Survival Russia no matter what you put up I learn something new. I love your videos.
Make a little sledge for your dog to carry the little girl.
Un saludo, amigo.

You will be sleeping with Deputy Dog tonight now. Maybe he will kick you out too because you might get him in trouble. :)
Haha stand trial!
Aslo in Canada I've hunted in shorter wider snow shoes called bear paws. better for in the trees so you don't get tangled up. might be worth looking into. Keep up the good work!
actually now that I look ...they're alot like those American army thing. those skies look to be the way to go!
I go for Tubbs snow shoes. The best one i have used..top notch.
Could you please give some dimensions on the skies and binding.I watch you every day and do love your beautiful daughter, brings back memories as my grandchildren were small. All the best from northern Canada.

Hahaha how she manage to burn her pom pom. Good video))
you are lucky man to have a time in woods with little pink troll, she is so cute with red face cheeks (образ)
Dude, your English is out of this world improved. It's very easy to understand you.
those skis are nice!!
Great videos. You should put an easy to find link on your main portion on where to get those skis for such a great price.
Great and informative video Lars. Two questions though. 1.) would there be a benefit in bringing ski poles for the hunter skis and 2.) you're terrain is pretty flat. How do the hunter skis fare if you have a lot of hills in your terrain (like I do, some of them really steep).
Wish I could buy those skis locally. I had other plans for today as well, but had to fix my Jeep in -26 degree weather. Maybe next weekend. Take care.
Funny thing about those Canadian snowshoes. I had a pr. of those for years and they didn't break. Maybe you got one that was flawed. this snow is sick. if we get snow here in north germany, it is the most time just one centimeter.
Lars, another great video.Wish we could get something similar here is Mt. USA.
the Hunter skies look like wider langlauf skies
Us Canadians have let you down! lol, now we will have to make it up to you
Next video will be on the topic: how to survive a divorce in winter... 😂
But a nice comparison of the differences in winter clothing anyway!
enjoyed the comparison and have had a few bad days on conventional snowshoes...the larger traditional snowshoes have much better flotation than even the best modern versions...i can see the skis are superior in many ways...say howdy to the troll...woods

She was not that angry, even she just recently bought those trousers. She was happy we had a good time :) Mrs. Survival-Russia is great :)
Survival Russia
Thank God , I had a feeling you weren't going to be in trouble. Things happen even while having fun.
+Survival Russia Somehow I just that all 3 of you would be happy! Beautiful family!

He didn't dooooooooo it...lol!
Me?? Noooo..
Hopefully you didn't take too much of a tongue lashing. XD
Maybe I missed it but pls could you tell more about the skis? What kind of kick surface is it, like fishscale or does it need waxing ? Are they very different to classic xc skis? Thanks!
