These video explanations would be a lot better if you had the players in pennies or shirts and skins. It's hard to tell you're own team when everyone is wearing anything in person. It's even harder to tell who's who when watching and not knowing anyone. It's EVEN harder when you can't guess who's on defense, because the entire point of this new defense is that the defense plays where the offense usually does
I really like the idea of trying to force the inefficient shot but I think allowing such deep middle penetration along with the difficult rim and corner relationship could lead to some problems. If there was some way you could force a specific direction while also pressuring him into the mid range, then I think it’d be an improvement. This could then allow you to peel switch the top guard to the weak side once the middle guy picks up the ball. I also feel like every defense on planet earth is gonna improve exponentially if you have a guy like siakam or the optimal amount of size that you described that would be helpful for this defense. I still like the premise though.
