This is an educational video walking you through the 20-Step Mitigation process.
Working more efficiently is the best way to make more money in water damage and restoration.
If you'd like a more in-depth review with a training manual and step by step videos, check out www.The24HourTech.com.
The 20-Steps is a very effective tool used to generate thorough Xactimate estimates.
Insurance companies and TPAs appreciate the detailed documentation. Project Managers and estimators like the fact that they don't have to drive to the job sites anymore.
Everyone wins.
This video was shot using the First Edition of The 24HR Tech and version 4.1 of the 20-Steps. The 24HR Tech is now on it's Second Edition and the 20-Steps is now version 7.2

@@AndrewMcCabeI’m going for my wrt next week and asd in June and was very informative. I’ve been doing this for 5 years now (30yo) and it’s always good to learn some extra thinking for the field and xactimate. Hopefully own my own business one day.
Great advice! I found this extremely helpful and I'm getting into the business myself and jumping ship from this maintenance supervisor position with no future!
Best of luck to you Robert! I'm glad I was able to help, at least a little.
Hey Andy. Great stuff as always. Do you still offer this in person?
I sure do. Time to get a “Third Edition” class together.
Right on. Our operations in the Rogue Valley and Oregon Coast are growing and I’d love to get the owner of the company I work for in touch with you. He’s a big fan of your content and if I remember your an Oregonian as well?
@@calebotero6303 I sure am. Sitting in Seal Rock right now. Home is Bend. Put something together and I’ll come down for a couple days.
Do you make available the forms that you use? Where can I find one? Thanks

Any tips for resources...job sites, or specific ads to weed out the losers, to hire new QUALITY employees?
My biggest question is always, what about the wet beams, insulation, subfloors, etc. This outside exterior drying to please customers with aesthetics “looking” good/dry is dangerous, because top down drying promotes microbial growth in the areas in the back and underneath as I explained. Mold is destroying lives more than it ever has right now.
I agree.
@@ClaimsDelegates yeah, I’ve been b.s.ing on taking my exam for a WRT. Not really concepts I promote, I’ll never do it either, but I gotta get a notch on my belt for mold remediation etc.
Try an video at strategic.moments as well
Where do I get these forms you are having them fill out?

It depends. :)

$1900 for an hour of masking work.... that's some deceptive bs. anyone who writes estimates with Xactimate knows insurance providers aren't going to accept charges like that unless your working on a huge commercial scale.
guys like this have some good tips, but they all say the same goofy shit to make you think they'll make your profits skyrocket
aaaaand you COMPLETELY missed the point.
IF you did nothing but mask and cover for an hour, and billed using Xactimate rates, it would work out to that $1,900-ish.
The concept is called extrapolation.
You missed the point. The point is by skipping things like masking off or containment, you leave money on the table. Those small .27 per sf charges add up. Over the course of a storm season or fiscal year, you lose tens of thousands of dollars. No, you won't make $1900 per hour each job, but overall your passing up revenue that equates to that in easy to understand hourly rates. He isn't scamming or fluffing, he is driving home a point. Doing it right maximizes revenue which maximizes profits.
@@dix_pack_of_sixie So much fluff i cant even breathe

...Basically your a salesman trying to 3x the price of labor to cover your wage, I'm not sure I want to rip my America off, but do you, we're not all skilled workers.
Call *Servpro!!*
No
WTF kind of sorcery/nonsense did I just listen to?
How do you calculate a $32.00 charge for containment barrier (that is what you say you charged, so that IS what you will get paid) and spin it into $1900.00? Why did you multiply a $32 charge by 60? You can only charge the $32, that IS your revenue....period! you don't take a .27 cents per SF rate and spin it into an hourly calculation and then multiply it by an arbitrary number (60) and say you just made $1900.00. That is complete nonsense.
HAHAHA The actual cost to mobilize 2 guys to hang, just that piece of plastic, probably cost you a lot more in terms of travel, setup, fuel, and on and on. Who the fook is this guy? LOL Have you ever even estimated and managed an actual real life large mitigation loss and made money?
You've missed the point so wide I don't even know where to start.
Than that was the worst attempt at making a point. I work for the best of the best and have been hugely successful in this industry, and I have no clue what the hell you are talking about. I know how to make money and do it everyday.
Explain away..........
@@tomasocantolino7580 I'm glad to hear you are hugely successful. I wish you nothing but more of the same in the future.
The point is, if you consistently and efficiently do the small things, they add up to great things.
Maintaining motion with intentional action, can yield amazing returns.
Moving quickly from one step to another, while maintaining good documentation, can make your company hundreds, if not thousands of dollars per man-hour worked.
