www.RobotSoup.com It's been another 6 years, so I figured it was time to put out another visual effects reel!! Most 3d stuff made in Blender 3d, most compositing in After Effects.
Well, hands down this is one of the best screams from the darkest shadow... I mean the best vfx reel I've ever heard. Or seen. Looking forward to your awesome new things, Ian!

So I recognized shots from Tears of Steel (Blender open film), was like, "wait, did this guy work on TEARS OF STEEL??", and a Google search later, turns out he freaking DIRECTED it omg :D
This is, by far, the best (first?) narrated vfx reel yet. I'll absolutely remember this. Congrats on this wonderful "Scream From The Darkest Shadow Of An Unlit Room"! I'm in awe. :)
Well what you should watch after this is DYNAMO! It's his little pet project and it's awesome but critically underviewed. Also it posts once in a lifetime. I recommend the binge playlist. ua-cam.com/video/Sb6AqhT9quA/v-deo.html
Ian you are so damn good and so damn smooth. And I swear you sounded like JGL @ 1:04. And I also want to say thank you, as your lazy tutorials have rekindled my dream of filmmaking and animation and introduced me to a free program that allows me to do things that I never dreamt possible and by myself with my own two hands. Thank you so much. You are really a gem man. Keep doing you. Now get ready. A new era is emerging. The era of me.
Ian’s breathtaking work is such a stark contrast to his sense of humor, especially in a video like this! This guy can make some really cool stuff when he wants to
I'm really impressed, not just with your Blender skills but with your filmmaking spirit. I'm making films out of my garage, too. I mainly use practical effects, miniatures, puppets, but I see from your tutorials that Blender can even help me to enhance those things, as well.
THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING!! you're actually a glimmer of hope for me and my 3d modelling retention. Haven't seen a video thats made me want to hop on blender so much in a long time. I tip my hat to you sir!
Holy fuck man this is amazing. All of these are projects you've worked on? At first I thought you were doing a montage video of others work but soon realized I wasn't familiar with any of these films, impressive work. Here from Reddit
In one of those last scenes where something flies by some spaceship debris, the debris would go backwards. There's no air to push it away, so the particles shot out for thrust would push the debris backwards, not bring the object with
Chibi Jame It is, just hard work when you're practically one person working on all the effects. I hope we'll see a new episode this year or the next one.
Since before 2006 or so. I remember following his work about that time. I was doing stopmotion animation (or trying to) and had found his site. I didnt stick with it and went to college, biggest regret of my life. Glad he stuck with it though.
"Can they love you back?"
Yes, if they're moths and you taught them to love.
Well, hands down this is one of the best screams from the darkest shadow... I mean the best vfx reel I've ever heard. Or seen. Looking forward to your awesome new things, Ian!
Whoa, thanks, dude!!! That means a lot coming from you!
If he only knew back then..

Oh, he'll get there. One minute at a time.
And I can't understand why we do not have world peace yet. And why so many people are still using window$.

"What are visual effects? A miserable pile of secrets! But enough talk, have at you!"
*Breaks wine glass in greenscreen*
He is like a real life Brian Griffin
With VFX, you can have as many glasses to throw in a fit of rage as you’d want%
Lots of meaningless talk
You're nothing short of amazing. Congrats from Spain!
So I recognized shots from Tears of Steel (Blender open film), was like, "wait, did this guy work on TEARS OF STEEL??", and a Google search later, turns out he freaking DIRECTED it omg :D

Oh man, If your 2016 demo reel could be this insane🔥 i cant imagine what your 2023 would look like!!!
This is, by far, the best (first?) narrated vfx reel yet. I'll absolutely remember this. Congrats on this wonderful "Scream From The Darkest Shadow Of An Unlit Room"! I'm in awe. :)
This has the energy of him being a god of vfx and periodically just starts ranting to a bunch of scared and confused mortals
you can add "Voice Acting Reel" with that script paper
Who's watching this after watching his lazy tutorials?
you mean his screams from the darkest shadow?
i'm seeing planes everywhere now (well not everywhere, sometimes the polycount at display is just awesome)
