Amazing video buddy, we have seen so many TRX having the same transfer case issue here in Liwa desert and had to tow them out. The reason for that is leaving the car in 4wd auto while driving in the sand or in your case snow, what the car does in that case is constantly change from 4H to 4L which literally cooks the transfer case until it's completely destroyed. The solution for this is to put the car in 4H when driving on rough surfaces like sand or snow so it doesn't cook the transfer case, bottom line just never leave it in 4wd auto when offroading that's the reason for this. die kupplung im transfercase hat wahrscheinlich vorspannung und durch das RWD modul nutzten sich die kupplungsscheiben stark ab, weil die vorderräder permanent eine andere drehzahl als die hinterräder haben
maschinenbau student hier. wär auch meine vermutung. auch wenn die kupplung offen ist, reiben die beläge leicht. Man kann alles so auslegen, dass das Getriebe das mit macht. Dodge hat sich dafür entschieden das Getriebe nicht darauf auszulegen, und deswegen den Allrad permanent gemacht. Wenn man dann halt viel RWD Fährt mit dem modul, ist die Beanspruchung halt zu hoch.
Würd also sagen, die Kupplung ist nicht durch das im Schnee fahren kaputt geworden, sondern war davor schon mehr oder weniger am Ende ihres Lebens
Kenne ich auch so. Wenn zu viel im RWD mit hohen Drehzahldifferenzen gefahren wird wie beim driften dann Überhitzt der Antrieb an der Kupplung. Wird dazu führen das die Kupplungen verschleißen oder verglasen und dann im AWD Modus durch rutschen bis sie überhitzen. Klar dass das Steuergerät dann auf macht. Für Offroad und Schnee ist die Kupplung wahrscheinlich hin
What about being worn out from dry road surface doughnuts(burn outs) and drifting, as well as not replacing the differental fliud soon enough given the elevated level of stress. Also maybe a cooler, circulation pump, filter and fluid upgrade is needed.
despite that the car in the front was fine. I think it had defect pump and couldn't press the clutches properly, resulting in fast wornout

The RAM TRX is probably the most badass and all-around capable vehicle ever made. I'd argue its also the best vehicle ever for creating content on UA-cam. Drag racing, mud-running, dirt jumping, off-roading, snow drifting... pick any theme and it will genuinely entertain.

If you have more tire wear on the rear form drifting and then engage the AWD system, the transfer case has to compensate more which introduces more heat and wear. Hence why you have 4 off the same tire sises on AWD cars :)
Not only that, but donuts on full lock with the locker engaged is literally just asking to break stuff lol.
I know built four-by systems that would puke their guts if there was even a bit more traction there.
@@PBRatLord The transfer case has wet clutch 4 Auto for that besides 4H 4L and 2wd, assuming it was in Auto... Also they had some defected Transfer Cases with spring causing binding and overheating which this could have been one of them

Bin relativ sicher, dass das Getriebe durch das RWD Modul schon vorm Schnee mehr oder weniger am Ende war. Die Kupplungen sind nicht darauf ausgelegt so hohe Drehzahl differenzen auszugleichen, welche beim RWD driften eben auftreten. (weswegen dodge ja auch keinen RWD Modus anbietet)
Im Schnee, das war nur der Todesstoß (niedrige Geschwindigkeit, damit hohes Drehmoment)
Vielleicht gibts die Möglichkeit die Halbachsen vorne, oder die Kardan nach vorne auszubauen, wenn du RWD fahren willst, damit die Kupplungen nicht wieder wegbrennen.

@@schaefchen kommt jetzt auf den genauen aufbau vom getriebe an. Kann auch sein, dass dadurch die kupplung schon überlastet war.

@@schaefchen 🥴 But this is one thing I do not understand: This truck probably was tested really tough in the States but I assume, they never tested this car in snowy conditions. Cause what you did with your TRX was pretty much nothing, don’t get me wrong. Of course you had a lot of fun with it but holy smokes, this car was built to have fun with.
I did similar things in the late 90s with my 1994 V20 Mitsubishi Pajero 2500TD and this car worked properly from the beginning till I had enough of goofing around.
Has your dealer submitted a goodwill request??

A guy previously commented that in these trucks, when they are in 4wd auto mode, switch between 4hi and 4low constantly which burns the transfer case out faster. I imagine in snow it constantly switches even more than on dirt. So setting it to 4hi should solve the issue which makes sense. @@5ShotProductions

As cool as it is to do donuts I think those modules that make your truck rear wheel drive messes up the transfer case. Same thing happens to the trackhawks! Not hating at all I would do the same thing. Such a cool video! Love the snow drifting videos! Your country is beautiful!

To fix the lack of weigth in the back you should add something to the bed, a couple bags of sand or watever you have to weigh it wodn a little wich will help a lot with traction.

Schaefchen the reason your transfer case went out is due to the Tazer, I highly recommend removing it from now on. The TRX transfer case clutches are not designed to send 100% of power to the rear wheels, but the Tazer tries overriding this and you end up with still 5-10% clutch contact and this burns up the clutch pack. This won't happen in a stock TRX without Tazer. I speak from experience, as I had the same issue in my TRX with Tazer RWD mode. The new transfer case has been 100% good without the Tazer installed.

Könnte das RWD Modul etwas damit zu tun haben, dass sich das Teil vorne so torpediert hat? Also dass es die ganze Zeit Schaden genommen hat und halt jetzt den Geist aufgegeben hat?
Kein Plan wie das Modul funktioniert, aber ist halt so mein Gedankengang. Nicht Originals Modul um mit dem AWD System zu spielen. AWD System macht Probleme. Modul?

The tazer that you use to make it rwd is what fried your transfer case. It happens with hawks/trx's
Get a 2005 stock ram 1500 5.7 , add near to be overused snow tire and try it in snow , owned around 8 truck in the last 4 years . And this one by far the one that impressed me the most in snow . Blew it water crossing in spring.

That's heartbreaking! My '22 TRX has behaved well for me so far ... but we don't get snow like that in the part of Texas I'm at. But if I ever encounter snow like that, I'll make sure to just put it on snow mode and let it do the job.
The problem was most likely the module he used to disable AWD and make it rear wheel drive only. Same thing happens to track hawks when you use thos module. It's only meant to be in awd

I think it’s because of the tazer. It’s not supposed to be rwd and you drive in rwd a bunch. The transfer case may not be getting the kubrication it needs

I have a Trx as well, for some reason the transfer case and all the driveline fluids where low from the factory. Top all your fluids off for sure! And love the videos man. I shared your UA-cam channel with the Trx forum.

Love your channel but in defense of the trx it is well known that forcing RWD with an aftermarket module will destroy the transfer case.

The module that disables the front driveline likely caused the transfer case to break those kits are bad for your truck
thats exactly what I thought of because the car isn't made to drive in RWD that's why they used an aftermarket

I have a 2013 ram. It does this. The transfer case has clutches that prevent 4wd wind up. If I turn. The front stops pulling and the rear spins. Until i hit the gas. It's a dumb system. Once the transfer case goes out. I'm getting the bw 44-45 transfer case which has a chain. I have the the bw 44-44 which has the clutches
The transfercase breaking down was likely a buildup of torture, the snow drifting was likely not the reason, but the buildup of metal in the oil must have been asting like a ticking bomb for a while and the high torque sent in the case even with low friction brought it to it's doom 😏😏
