I thought so too. She's acting like somebody else raised her when she was only gone for 6 months so her mother can get herself a home away from the abuse. She's tacky and greedy. Glad Illinois has a law to protect people from greedy people like the defendant.

She's ridiculous! This is common sense. Extremely common sense. You pay for the funeral out of any funds left behind whether life insurance, bank funds, or whatever.
Now if she was more honest and upfront and communicated properly, she could have set a budget that she wasn't willing to go past.

@@valeedadavidson678 you don't need a law to know that your grandad needs to be buried and burials aren't free. Her expecting her mom to cover everything when she was left the money is ridiculous.
She's a grown ass woman and I'd understand your rationale more, if she were say 10 years old, but even 10 year olds would have the common sense necessary to know that burying their grandpops isn't free.
I am my mother's child and yes, I covered everything when she passed but guess what, all of the money and life insurance was left to me. I paid for everything out of these funds and then split the rest with my brother down the middle. She conveniently leaves that part out when saying how she expected her mom to pay for everything because she was the granddad's actual child.
Usually the children do pay but out of the money left behind, first.
      It only makes sense.

Agree. Everyone always says "Not my family" until it happens to them. When I was 18 my dad was killed and had nothing. My aunt came in like a hero which I was so thankful. They pushed me to go to a lawyer. They called the lawyer so much that he had asked me to ask them to stop. First thing I wanted a check sent to my aunt off the top but I remember her greedy comment about how she paid and that was her house payment but at the time it was for her baby brother and not to worry. I was shocked and it really hurt me. It's really sad how people act over money.

@@cassandra6710 it is sad and sorry for your loss.
But what was your family wanting you to call a lawyer for?
Sometimes and often people don't understand how if someone doesn't have life insurance or money in accounts when they die, there's absolutely nothing to be had.
A lot of people assume there's money left behind when people die and it does bring out the worse in folks.
My grandma died many years ago and my mom took care of the funeral and after the funeral, she divided the rest of the insurance money, which wasn't much, with her 7 siblings.
My one uncle, the oldest child by the way, didn't believe my mom and sued her thinking she was keeping all of this extra supposed money to herself.
To make a long story short, his lawyer ended up removing himself from the case because his claims were baseless and he had no proof. He was just assuming my grandma had all this money when she clearly didn't. It was obvious that she didn't and at the time my grandma died, one of my other uncles was the one paying all the bills for her.
Not even the Uncle who was suing was taking care of her but yet he wanted to sue my mom thinking she was hiding something from him. Her other siblings didn't have the same thoughts and just took what was given to them and kept it moving.

@LaToya S you are absolutely right. Everyone can have an opinion but people need to realize that they only getting half of the story. For instance, my mom stole 30k from him when he was alive. But I'm the monster! She owed me money for all the money she took from me! People are so quick to judge without hearing the full story. There's so much more to this but like you said, everyone will have an opinion. I didn't want to pay her because she owed him!!! But one another note, please know that this is purely for entertainment purposes only. And I'm not the monster everyone thinks. I did pay for his funeral, had him cremated, and will bury his ashes with his mother in his hometown. I'm honoring my grandfather's wishes, and one of them was NOT to give my mother or other siblings A DIME! Period!!!

    • @latoyas191

@Baby D Murrelli You're very animated and my opinion is still the same. While I sympathize with your situation or at least how you see it, I feel that honoring HIM has nothing to do with her or what she did. There are ways to pay the expenses if she has a detailed receipt for instance. I also stand on my opinion that the REASON you gave, that his children should be responsible for burying him, was not a good reason because if he raised you, in a sense you are a child of his. One last point, is that we can only go by what we saw in the episode and I do not know you. It's ok that people don't agree with you, if your conscious is clear, peace be unto you. And I don't mean that sarcastically, I mean it from the heart.

Even though, through your mom’s dysfunctional relationship, she tried to look out for you by sending you away and fighting the man that abused you. He ain’t your dad so your not responsible and can give a rats behind if he’s properly laid to rest (get somebody else to do it), but you have zero problems spending the money he left for you (even though he’s not your dad).
