Great vid. I have an old game called 'Formula 1' and wanted to see if the old one held up to the new one. It has some things that the new one doesn't and vice versa. Interesting.
Pretty good overall, but basic game is two laps and Pitstop was completely skipped. That's what I really wanted to see as this leads to a lot of confusion for many.
Great explanation. It's funny how the Formula 1 cars look like they're moving backwards just because of the way they're designed. It's cool they have lot of expansions. Also cool are the different custom dice. I need the d30 for D&D lol
@@Weather_Ninja_82 ; ) I found a pic on boardgamegeek that shows the actual minis before I posted that. this vid shows them facing correctly. But they do look backwards. I'll post the link and see if it lets me....
Okay game, but gets a bit mindless after a while, plus whoever goes first has a big advantage. Rallyman GT has similar issues but requires brain power and is more fun.
I have owned formula de since the 90s. I cant help but feel its the superior version. Generic wear points. Huger chances for catastrophes. Less strategy and more rando malarky. Des Cartes... This is my disappointed face.
You just have to flip over the player cards to go back to the old more complex rules. This tutorial is just for a new basic ruleset they introduced. They even have additional rules varients in the box as well.
Mechanically speaking, if you drive a car and you decide to accelerate, the car will respond. The outcome is very deterministic. It is different than combat where you plan, but the enemy will not respond to your plan. Combat has a higher degree of randomness, hence more suitable for dice rolling. This is where Downforce makes more sense, because players may determine moves deterministically using cards, not dice. In Rush and crush, dice are used to determine lanes you can switch. There are obstacles in the track so it becomes an evasion dice roll, which makes sense. Dice are better use when randomness intervenes or when you need to automate a game, so it becomes a TV show where players cannot control the outcome. .
If you like to count numerous times to 20 or 30, then this is your game!!!! If you miss a corner, you can't make it up again and will lose. Pretty boring game!!!
@@andytheman72 but waiting for other players to take their turn, counting endlessly, is just boring. This is not a fast game. HEAT: Pedal to the Metal is a fast fun rating game and everybody makes their decisions at the same time, which speed up the game.
Nice video. Brief and sticks to the point.

I still don't know how pit stops work seem like there is no penalty for stopping into the pit. and what happens if u only stop 2 times the 3 stop turn
great game - but can you explain the pit stops (advaned rules) I‘m not sure if I play this right…
I'd like to know too...
@@andytheman72 I‘ve found some YT vids were you can see it

It's not a normal D30, it only contains value between 21 and 30, so its basically a d10

Thank you !!!
did anyone else get 2 purple modified 20 sided dice and no Black Die?
Ours did not. Have you reached out to the publisher? They may be able to help you out.
@@CatHouseGaming I didnt reach out.. only because I'm an tabletop gamer, so I have plenty of dice.
Great job
great video but is this game a eurogame or not? I am considering the dice factor...
Not a eurogame.

It's pretty hard to miss a corner if you plan ahead. But if you push your luck, the odds are getting lower and lower.
