It's old electrical wire...But i would use hard wire for 16GA

U can try it
If your ring turns out way too big is there anything you can do to make it smaller already hammered
I would try to make it smaller by squeezing it… sometimes it is hard though

It is polishing block, I just cut in small pieces:) I got from Home Depot
