Some people get burned out because they just don’t like the game. If you like the game, play it regardless of what the community says, if you actually enjoy it. And don’t force yourself to play, because you end up complaining about everything
Until the next region is available, I play casually in daily commissions and occasionally do events to earn more gems and backlogged story and hangout quests these days.
playing since day one, still enjoy it. yes, even the "dead" patches. I don't treat it as my maingame, but it is still part of my daily routine. No signs of burnout yet.
Same situation here. Day 1 player, daily login. Some days I play 5 mins. Some days I play hours. I don't feel forced. It's meant to be casually enjoyed after all.
Same situation here too. I still enjoy the game since 1.1 and treat it as a comfort down-time whenever cool stuff is updated. I already got most of my favorite character maxed out and I can build new ones whenever I feel like.
Please people don't force yourself to play even if you feel like you are wasting resources. That can lead to burnout, so be careful and respect yourself
I still like to login and run around farming ore Seeing the world listening to the music It chill vibes Especially afterwork im tired and its a good to unwind Main hope is bosses being able to challenged multiple times in a week like hsr Weapon materials and talent book domains should not be locked to certain days just make them like sunday everyday
Well there are some good communities you just don't want to interact with the toxic ones like the shippers, the furry shifters, the min maxers and the black skin recolor crowds. Most of them are either racist or sexual deviants and mentally deranged.
I've played MMo's for decades. And what they gave as content was nowhere near as good/polished as what Genshin gives for free. If you want a beautiful, immersive world, with well written characters and incredibely well written world quests, give EGnshina try. It is free after all. :)
I only started at 2.6 patch, but it’s just become daily routine for me to play at least 30 mins. Many people said that they suffer on being burnout in playing, lucky me I never experienced it since I myself don’t push myself too hard on playing. There are pros and cons if you start genshin this year, pros you have lot of content to do and prolly easy to level up, one of the cons I hate is that theres many quest and story that you probably wont be experienced since theyre usually in time limited.
I started playing Genshin in version 2.5, and I kid you not, I literally log in every single day since then, that's how much I love this game. There were quite a bit of story-oriented non-gacha games that I played before Genshin which I liked, but since starting Genshin I didn't really feel the desire to play other games("Consistently". I still play other games, but not nearly for as long a session as I am with Genshin), because this game just has everything that clicks with me, the story is great, the lore is very deep and exciting to explore, I love the music, exploration and characters in this game AND it's not an issue for me that they are taking their time with implementing endgame because I know I'm gonna play the game for a long time because of other aspects anyway, so whenever we get to true endgame, it's just gonna be a bonus for me rather than a priority. I know that I'm an exception and I'm very lucky to like everything this game has to offer, and I hope other people can find their own "perfect game", but for me it's Genshin hands down. I now realize that this is quite possibly my favorite game of all time and I can't be more grateful that I'm able to play it. If you read this hell of an essayge, thank you and I hope you have a nice day!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts here! I feel grateful to hear there are still most people like you who enjoyed this experience of what it is and how it is meant to be. I agree with you on the second part about how this game's lore and world simply resonates with me very much to keep me engaged to this day.
Man You just summed up my own thoughts perfectly as well. With so many dramas recently and just everyone complaining about literally everything I'm so happy to see that there are still people like You!
I quit Genshin in 2023 after playing for 2,5 years. It’s not because I didn’t like the game or wasn’t interested in the lore, but because things got too repetitive and pretty boring for me so i just burnt out. I’m planning on coming back when i have more free time, but for now i rather want to focus on school:)) To this day i like to keep myself updated on the lore by watching archon quest play-throughs and i am hoping to rejoin the Genshin community someday:)
Im a new player who joined in version 4.6 and i cant wait to continue my story quests and side quests and other things! I think currently that genshin impact is a really good and interesting game! Just my taste! Cant wait to continue when i havd the time to!
Sometimes I just like to run around and gather flowers while listening to music or go through sections of the map I haven't been to a while, while enjoying new and sometimes wonky team comps. Like the chasm, which feels so deep and big when you journey from top to bottom. Or sometimes I set myself arbitrary goals, like getting 1000 of every type of wood. To me, its the perfect game for casual and satisfying play and I enjoy it since I started, way back in 1.1😊
Been playing since around Inazuma and used to squeeze as much content as I could in the shortest amount of time, but nowadays I've been limiting myself to taking things more slowly, usually just to collecting achievements from daily commissions and finishing up encounter points for the day through quests or procedural map exploration, and maybe doing a bit more here and there every now and then. It's much less stressful and overwhelming this way cause I'm not pushed to keep up with the latest content and there's always more for me to do. Plus, I like the feeling of seeing my gradual progress. Been getting back into playing daily since Bedtime Story came out but I've been kept busy with finishing off exploration, achievement clearing, and non-archon quests, and haven't even gotten around to Bedtime Story yet. Honestly, just have fun, and don't overwhelm yourself. Pacing yourself through the game can really help.
I have been playing the game since 2022 and I have no plans to stop any time soon. This game is really important to me as it helped me through some really tough times (still kinda going through some tough times but oh well) the game isn't perfect by any means but I still love it with all my heart.
Yes I think Genshin is still worth they added so many things to make it easier for new players to progress even faster, easier exploration. My biggest regret is not trying the game at launch or atleast a few days after launch. I love the game, the story/lore, character design and yes even the combat(I'm one of the few ppl that likes the elemental reactions. And let's not forget the awesome vas in English,Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. 💖
Started for Eula, Stayed for the amazing game i had to pay 0 bucks for, still playing till today. Genshin has become a sort of Comfort game for me, playing and getting lost in the lore, the world and stories is just magical to me.
1.0 player, had extremely bad luck at the beginning and I didn't know there was any guarantee implemented so I quit before 1.2 came out after losing 50/50 and feeling I had no decent chance to ever get what I wanted without swiping. I came back the moment I saw Eula leak :D And never left since. Genshin is home. Even in its weakest patches.
2:11 Why is this cutscene still giving me goosebump every time I watch it. XD Anyway, this is probably one of the best videos for those who've been wondering if they should try to play Genshin or not. It's packed with enough info of pros and cons of Genshin in 2024. Gotta save it to playlist and share it to anyone that may consider on playing this game. A bit OOT, Genshin is a whole immersing world for those who like the game aesthetic and worldbuilding. The music is one of the main factors in making the immersion so great and this followed by the game art direction and details. So, to anyone who like fantasy game setting with DEEP lore, this game is pretty much for you. As a player who played since launch, it's the best mobile game in 2020, and it's still the best anime stylized game I've play currently.
Playing since 1.1 and this is literally such a perfect game for me (even ignoring the gacha side). Everything from the stories, explorations, graphics, musics are just top tier
Same (aside from the community) genshin might be my favorite MOBILE game out of all mobile games i played nothing can top it (except dbl or dokkan since those were my first favorite mobile games i still play)
started since 1.0 and never regret it. Music is my go to when come to Genshin. Always tune up some genshin playlist while working, is smoothing and relaxing.
i only started playing in january - during 4.3, and i had SO MUCH content to go through i was playing constantly for about 3 months cause i couldn't stop. it was so much fun, going through this (for me) brand new world. i fell in love with the game, badly, and i never thought i would - but i did after trying it out, and now i sometimes just take a casual stroll through some of my favorite areas and listen to the music. i can really recommend anyone to give it a try - just play it on your own pace, do whatever /you/ like in the game.
Gonna play on xbox for the first time day after tomorrow. Tried it once on my phone but compared to pc and ps5 looked crap and controlled horribly. Can't wait. I so freaking love the zelda breath of the wild graphical style and this is just even better looking than that. This is more or less made for me lol
I'm a new player as well, I started back v4.4 which is lantern rite patch and at first, I wasn't enjoying it. That day I still remember it, the day that it got me hooked is the special event story quest about Gaming, the cutscene on that😮😮😮...amazing!!! It's very touching I even cried a little bit. I never imagined that I will be enjoying this game this much that I ended up starting to buy the battlepass every patch until today 4.8 and I didn't regret it. It became a habit for me to pkay this game every each day after work.. I play Mobile Legends which is a MOBA game for years since season 5 and played it until I stop logging in anymore because of genshin even though I alreat spent a lot with that then again I still didn't regret it, it is what it is. Now my youtube recommendations only shows content creators about Genshin, watched gameplays, walkthrus and even leaks, I don't know, I'm just maybe addicted to this..haha I'm seeing myself playing this game until it ends..wow that's a whole a** story i just posted...I just wanted to say if you enjoy the game play it if not then quit..dont force yourself to play game that your not enjoying, ignore hates from other players it's just a waste of time..sorry for my english😅😅
I played an obscene number of hours during the pandemic. Great game over all, the combat is fun, the characters are very well designed, you don't need to spend money on anything to have multiple characters. Perhaps I'll play again one day.
Nice video! I like the Reporter style presentation u did here, really suits u. U did a really good overview of all the good and bad. I myself will not get back into the game, when the Gacha loses its charm couse the game is to easy thus u don't need new characters to get through the game it really takes away alot. The grind was the other reason i quit tho i did enjoy the story alot(minus Paimon) so these days i just watch u or other content creators to see how it still is, and all i'll say is that it has its moments, though far to few in my opinion.
Started more than two years ago (during Ayaka's "eternity banner" ^.~) and I'm still loving every second that I spend in Teyvat. I'm a student with a part-time job, so GI is the perfect game for me. Nothing gives me more joy than going to Teyvat after five hours at uni and four hours at my job (or the other way around). I play the game, because I think it has a beautiful world, amazing music, loveable characters and a good story (great lore!). It's not perfect (nothing is), but the positive things far outweigh the negative ones for me. I also don't stress about spending resin or 36* the Abyss. I'm just having fun!
I kept on lvl 35 for well over 6 months now (started in September 2023) and I could/can do almost every quest apart from the IV+ Archon Quests and a few regional quests that for some quirky reason require a higher level. I have amassed almost 700k EXP, have almost 780 achievements unlocked and I have tons of visitors who I can help with domains, bosses or even letting them simply gather materials (I do NOT understand why so many players guard their materials like rl gold, it all grows back ffs). I have maxed (for my lvl) 19 characters (including their weapons, artifacts, talents) and still have over 30 characters that I can max as slowly or quickly as I please, if i choose to. There is always new content which one can choose to do , or not to do but mainly the regions are still spectacular and beautiful even if some areas have been toned down a little bit - so even just wandering through the regions and while whacking monsters is immense fun for as short or as long a time as one wishes to put in daily or weekly, imo.
Just a heads up too and I suggested this to Genshin support that if you choose one of the twins but never seen any trailer like I did when I started playing in 2024, I would recommend watching the trailers and see the difference between Aether and Lumine because once you chose a twin, you cannot change it and for me I do love both but on my main account on EU, as I started getting to see more of Lumine and how she is like, I unfortunately cannot reset the game progress and only other way to start over and play as Lumine on my EU region is by deleting the account overall due to Genshin not having a feature where we can reset the progress without having to delete an account which honestly annoys me besides the voice line have bugs in the America and Asia server for some unknown reason, in my opinion, I have to blame myself for not asking my brother who he chose or watching the trailer and jumping straight into the game and picked Aether. Yes Aether is good but I tried Lumine out on America and Asia server and found that her voice over is way different for example you can hear her happiness if she finds a treasure haha
I love this game so much!! My main is basically done so I’ve moved on to leveling and fixing my second account ^^ I still play my main but I’ve just run out of things to dump my resin on lmao 😂
Then why would devs make kits and reactions in the first place? Combat is necessary in the game, it just isnt the focus anymore since they prioritized on the casuals who dont bother. When the first thing you learn in the game is to beat up slimes using reaction, then its clear that they had combat in mind and a lot of people were hooked to the game due to that
I’ve been playing since 2022,I’ve been enjoying it since then.I’m excited for Natlan and I’m already mostly done with a few quests in the Summer region.
Amazing video like always, really been digging the new greenscreen setup! I just want to add that you don't get 200 resin /day. It's still only 180 like it's always been. They've only ever increased the cap.
i joined in jan 2024 (around the end of 4.3) and am currently at ar 50! i think it's a little overwhelming at times the amount of content to clear but i made a few high ar friends and they made things a lot easier and were really helpful
this videos super good! as someone who started seriously playing around 3.0, (have had my account since release, just didn’t enjoy the game) i always tell people to get through mondstat and get into liyue before they judge the game. mondstat takes an hour or two and its honestly the biggest drag in all of the genshin storyline imo. I tried getting thru mondstat four times before i eventually pushed through and ive loved the game ever since. super good review and i agree with most of your points!
I play Genshin in-between my other big games like Horizon, Disgaea, FF7, etc. This way, I always have something to play when there's nothing from the bigger industry I want to play. The casual difficulty makes it easy to come back to without worrying about forgetting how to play. Compared to other games in my backlog like Devil May Cry or Atelier Ryza 3 - I paused for a few weeks and now I can't remember the enemy attack patterns/combos in DMC, or the team comps or what I was building up to in Atelier
I’ve been playing Genshin since late in version 2.8 and just missed that limited time area since I couldn’t progress fast enough to unlock it. I did manage to do the sculpture event in 3.0 a few days before 3.1. Since then, I’ve been playing it every day except for days traveling which wasn’t a lot. I personally don’t care about it being challenging and just prefer to just relax and play. I can handle a little challenge as long as it’s not too much. I’m not going to stop playing Genshin anytime soon especially after spending a few hundred bucks for C6 Furina and her weapon.
As a Day 1 player, I have mostly been enjoying playing it, though I did take a couple months break back around the time of the second half of Inazuma's Archon quest coming out. I didn't get burned out but I did take a break, but that was due to me already playing another game (and pretty much finishing it up before becoming a dedicated Genshin player) I still love Genshin to this day and have several accounts (Don't judge me!) I play on just because I want to replay some of my favorite stories. I enjoy the story, music and characters and that's what keeps me so invested in this game.
I've been playing since around 2021. I'm very behind compared to others who started around that time, but I love to just take my time playing the game. I'm still doing the main archin quest for Fontaine and I've barely explored most of the areas in it, but I love the feeling of just taking my time exploring. I didn't get to Inazuma until AR45 due to my balldragging and completing all of the quests in Liyue and Mondstat lolol. I do take small breaks in between playing just due to my ADHD, so I'm currently working on finishing Cyno's 2nd Story Quest (I like to finish ALL of the quests in a region before continuing to the next lol) and then I'll try continuing the Archon Quest and doing the summer event
I came back to Genshin around 3.7/.8 and it took me maybe 10 months to explore everything from Monstadt to Fontaine, and now I’m working on the mini world quests. Almost done with Sumeru and will work on Fontaine while waiting on daily commissions to unlock the few Inazuma and Sumeru quests (which is annoying but it is what it is lol). I’m still not burnt out, I love the world and characters. My first immersive game c:
I've been playing since 2022,everyday,not hoursss of playing so i still have lots of things to do. I love the lore,i don't see some patches are ''dry'' cause i have fun regardless. Love the characters, the music, the combat,i have HIGH levels of anxiety and Genshin has become my comfort game,so yeah,it is worth for me. Some of my friends started playing this years (away from fandom drama) and they're having a blast,we join on discord to talk about builds and lore ~i love it
Started playing for real in 2.0 after a 3 day stint in 1.0. Ever since then it's been my main game and I've loved most of what it has given us. I sometimes get bored and that's when I take a step back and just do the bare minimum dailies+resin. As an MMO player before, I quite enjoy how you can either choose to grind a lot or just do nothing but aforementioned bare minimum (or not even that if you're not pressed for it). I'm always reluctant to recommend Genshin since it's still a gacha and no game is ever truly perfect, but Genshin is polished and cared for, getting regular content updates. I think it's worth a shot regardless of the patch we find ourselves in.
I´ve been playing since version 2.0, haven't gotten bored yet and I still have soooo many world quests to do and areas to explore. Sometimes I can play 5 hours a day, some days I don't login at all. For a casual gamer like myself who likes fantasy stories, good characters and exploring the absolutely beautiful open world, Genshin is a great game. I play other games as well, so the missing endgame in Genshin isn't that big of a deal for me. It is what it is. But hopefully we get there at some point, because as Bran said in the video, the combat system has so much potential.
I started playing it exactly at v1.0 well I was working now that to so no time of playing evertyime BUT the patch is so slow anyway (that took every 6 weeks) I can manage to get all the quests and 100% my exploration slowing but surely.. so even if it is a "dead" patch then I don't mind since it can only took me a few minutes anyway to online then after that I can now focus on my work again 😅 so yeah it feels great for me anyway so this "boring" moments from genshin can make me focus more besides playing (like "touch the grass") even if my account is having Max achievements, 100% my exploration, Designing my Teapot & also even playing TCG 🤣 Also this is the only game I played in my mobile though (cuz you know the size) that's why I'm more focused here while the same time focusing in my actual life... BUT what really makes me stay here is because of the LORE (Both Archon quest and even Side quest) and the music as well 😘
I started at launch, I stopped at 1.5 (mid 2021), just recently started again at 4.6 (few months ago) This is the best time to be playing genshin impact. So many QoL (Quality of Life) updates, stories are nice and in abundance, character designs are improved. Although one thing to take note of is how old characters have been powercrept, so you'll want to pull for a few of the newer characters. But you get tons of primogems from exploring the new maps, so it can be a fun thing instead I believe I did the correct thing by stopped when I got burnt out from playing, thinking "I can re-download the game later and it'll be much more fun that way"
Another Genshin Content creator that I would love to add and recommend on the list at 2:38, is MurderofBirds He is phenomenal streamer who reads every single piece of lore from the game that delivers, much like Minsleif. You can find his Twitch channel where he has all of his VODs available from 1.0. He is like the (Irminsul) Time Capsule for this grand gacha game.
I stopped playing Genshin for a year in 2023, just got back into it and I'm so sad I missed so much. I started in 2021 and watched a lot of creators, especially Bran, I used to watch his streams almost everyday for a few months. It feels so nice to be back and Im catching up on so many videos :))
I don't think I'll be able to quit until the end, because I am actually interested in lore more than anything and how its gonna end. I can only wish that everyone pays attention to the lore but it sucks that I can see (based on my observation through my friends) that the majority are just skipping through it for primogems. Not even only the Archon Quests, but also the World Quests that has significant lore that is very interesting and can be used to predict/theorize the future of Genshin. But play the game as how you enjoy it. I'm just kinda promoting the lore lmao.
I still love it. I’ll admit that it’s kind of a slow period at this point in time (oddly fitting for the relaxing vibe of the summer event), but I’m pretty confident that will change the instant Natlan drops. I’ve been looking forward to it almost as much as Snezhnaya, considering how little info we had to go off of until very recently.
I can attest to not getting AR locked now. I recently made a new account (a no-wishing account, it has been interesting so far) and my issue is that I am getting the AR exp too fast and can't keep my characters/weapons up with my AR level. And there is a ton of content. I started in 3.8 and it took me about 8 months to finish clearing everything in the game (all quests done, map cleared, all achievements except time-gated ones, etc.) and I'm a hard core game completionist who plays an average of close to 2 hours per day. It isn't possible to run out of things to do in game unless you play multiple hours per day or have been a long time player, and even then with the new content and limited events there is constantly something new to do. As for the events, I really wish the lore/story ones were permanent, and at least some of the unique and fun ones. I loved that alchemy event from a few patches ago. It was like a really watered down version of a simulation I did when I got my MBA, with some other fun puzzle mechanics thrown in.
I stopped playing the game around Version 4.3 when I started way back in 1.3, although I did stop playing, I still watch other streamers play the game because no matter what, the world building, the music, and the storyline will always be a banger for me
I do think the game is great, I had a lot of fun when I first started but the burnout will eventually come and when it does it hits hard. The limited time events and resin system really does encourage you to consistently play everyday. If you don't, you miss out. I got as far as starting Sumeru and I do get the itch to jump back I'm but I'm still so far behind on everything. Catching up, and leveling up characters just feels like it'll be a year before I can get anywhere close. Genshin could be so much better if they pulled back on time locking everything. Resin system, primarily since it limits how much you can play overall. Story content no but everything else yes.
From my personal experience I'd say this: for one, Like he said it's free to play so might as well try it out and see. 2: I feel like you need to get your adventure rank 20 or maybe even higher to really start to understand things and really get into it. I first tried when it first released and got to AR 15 or so. Left and didn't play for at least a year if not longer because I wasn't really feeling it. One day kinda forced myself to come back because I wanted to beat every game I had downloaded. Didn't even want to play really but as I got back into it, I started understanding how to build characters and build teams and whatnot, and it sucked me in. It's now my most played game for the last 2 years when playstation rewind shows me what games I've been playing the most. I just didn't fully understand it at first because there's a lot to learn. And then 3rd: going back to what he said about end-game content not being hard and not to play if you want a challenge and everything. If you're a dolphin like me (someone who spends little to no money), it will be more challenging. I've played for years and still have not completed spiral abyss, lol. Before I get hate saying "git gud" or "skill issue" it's because I just built characters i liked and don't have enough good teams to pass floor 11. It's definitely a challenge for me because I was f2p until recently (dropped 15 bucks on genesis crystals because I felt I should at least pay some money since I have over a thousand hours in at this point lol) and wasn't focused on building good teams for the abyss. Just focused on characters I liked. I still have good teams for most of the events and in game content but nothing that gets me more than 5 stars in floor 11 of the abyss, although ive been getting close and started building other characters and getting good pulls on the banners so i think ill clear it within the next month or 2. So if you want it to be more challenging in the long run just don't dump money into your account I guess lol. Play the long game and grind forever like me haha. But overall it isn't a very difficult game outside of abyss and sometimes certain events that require multiple well built teams. In game content like story stuff I breeze through but it's still fun. It's one of those games thst even when you annihilate enemies. It makes you feel like a bad ass so it's still fun
Pre-registered and played since launch. I never played the game super intensely like some other people i see. No wonder people are burnt out. It’s been very enjoyable, gets me something to do for a bit during my downtime. Don’t think the game was designed to be played intensely for a prolonged time anyway.
Ive been playing since 1.1 and I'll definitely never quit it💕 its definitely my comfort game it means a lot to me✨✨ im a lore enjoyer so i love picking up every little detail, i love the music and exploration, everything! It has its up and downs but i find it still super worth it to play 💕💕
for someone who wanna enjoy open world game with decent story and battle and good music. with masive and huge area to explore i always recomend it. especially if they casual who just wanna chill game. but my only input is just get away from twitter or choose your circle carefully, better if your friend have enter that circle and can make sure its save and friendly for newbe.
Imo it doesn't matter what game you played, as long as you had a purpose that kept you playing that game. For me, the things that keep me going no matter what game are the lore/story of the game and the gameplay. If the games didn't have a good story that interests me, i don't wanna play it. It feels so empty if i just play the game because of the characters and the gameplay (just my preference). Some play games because of the pvp aspect and the victory, to enjoy and spend their time, for the characters, for the gameplay/hard content, for the story and etc.. Burnout happens in all games. Different people experience it differently. So you do you. For me, as a casual player, i do experience burnouts in genshin sometimes and take a break from the game. If i don't feel like playing, i play other games instead or do other things. If the patch updates have some interesting things, i might play it more often. If it doesn't, I might just do dailies and spend some resin, or I don't online at all. We'll see what Natlan has to offer.
Genshin Impact is a great game, and I’m serious. I FIRST started playing Genshin in 2021, then stopped playing after just a few days due to me not understanding anything in the game (I didn’t even went to Mondstadt). Then I started playing Genshin again with a fresh new start in early August 2024 (around the release of ver 4.0). I started playing again because at the time I kept on seeing the word “Fontaine” and it got me curious about the game. At the time of typing, version 5.0 is already available. I’m just so glad I started playing such a gacha game.
Started Genshin in June 2023 and it's one of the best games I've ever played. Never fallen this much in love with a game. I finished the Fontaine archon quests last month and now I can't wait for Natlan!
The one thing i enjoyed the most about this video was watching Bran's mic change from purple to blue XD But yeah, also a local Genshin Veteran, just sticking around for the story :)
The best advice is just to take your time and enjoy it. Do a world quest, explore a little, use your resin, maybe do part of an event and call it a day if you want. There's so much content that playing it casually will provide you with lots of stuff you'll like to do. Not every piece of content will be for you, but I can say that I've been playing it this way for 1.5 years and there's still a decent bit I want to do.
I started 2.8 and I was so happy I started there, because I had some quests to do and had time to get ready for Sumeru. I’m not saying that other versions are bad to start at, but I just wanted to say. Good Luck with your pulls guys!
Great video! Lost my 2nd 50/50 on the Navia banner today (lost on the original and this one again - both times to Mona) and felt a bit fed up with the game and Gacha, but having you list everything there is, and for me everything I have done so far, made me appreciate what we got for free so far. I still want Navia to have a good geo character, but it definitely feels less painful now knowing that in the grand scheme, I've gotten so much more out of this F2P than just grappling onto one character. For Mihoyo everything certainly seems to work out. We're still having a lot of pains with the game as players, especially the Multiplayer, Artifacts and missing presets / saved sets, relatively high prices for buying primogems and the 60fps lock on PC as well as no ARM support, but overall there is a lot of good in this game and other games now being "better" is partly a side effect of being able to learn from Genshin's mistakes and then doing it right from the start. It's certainly possible to have fun with the game, but it also really isn't for everyone with the flaws it still has.
Playing since the very beginning and I'm still playing now in 2024. It's still very enjoyable, even if just for the artists in the fandom and the characters/story. I also love exploration and Genshin always offers smth new to explore, so it's an awesome game in that regard :) I recommend it, but only play when you are motivated, otherwhise you'll burn yourself out. As for me? There are days in which I play HOURS, days in which I only do dailies and leave. Depends :)
For those just starting out, I 100% recommend using the Genshin Story & Quest Order Guide made by Kir-chan on the Genshin Impact Tips subreddit. It's an incredibly helpful resource if you are primarily interested in the story/lore and want to follow along in the "correct" order. It links to playthroughs of old events and appropriate lore breakdowns while avoiding as many spoilers as possible. I started playing in December and just finished the Fontaine Archon quest last week after taking a few breaks here and there. I love the fact that there's literally so much to do, and you can usually keep up with current timed events without getting spoiled too badly (with a few exceptions - I played Roses & Muskets on mute lol).
another pro for starting now is that there are SOOOO many guides. Whether it's for world quests, exploration, and like Bran said building characters, so using those guides are very useful for A. Getting AR quickly B. Getting f2p primos C. Completing it faster then if you were to try and figure it out yourself
I picked up this game during a weird and dark time in my life. I am now out of those tumultuous times but still play this game for dailies and events because I appreciate what it did for me during those times.
I have not hit burnout and I've been playing since one of the 2.x patches, however I also have ADHD and sometimes my hyperfocus won't let me play Genshin for a while. But I still enjoy it and haven't found myself hating any updates.
Pretty solid video mate, a lot of people have left the game mostly because of burnout, me personally, been playing it in a casual way since launch, taking my time exploring the world, leveling characters and just enjoying the story, so far no burnout but I do love the universe a lot so i guess that also helped. keep up the good work mate!
Playing over 3 years. Love the game and play every day. All areas 100% done and no quests on list. People rush through and have no interest in anything but main story. There are many quests to do. Some Don’t want to explore and rush rush rush…. Those people get burned out. Not so for me, I love exploring and don’t mind the slow patches…. Always can find something to do. How many games started during the lockdown? How many of those games are still going strong today? Genshin long term success is not lockdown related.
I started playing since February and I’m enjoying it so far. Now have like characters like kazuha, bennett, Mona, wanderer, and so much more. I honestly been enjoying it after 500 hours and possibly try to 100 percent it on the regions that I have haven’t explored fully. However the gacha system can be well not something I don’t like but it’s nice to save my primogems and get the characters and weapons I want. So in a way I like the game and not burned out yet going forward to max my characters for the abyss challenges so that’s my goal right now and explore more.
If you get yourself 1 good 5 star charachter at level 60 and a good 4 star level 60, anything from pre-inazuma to fontaine will be a zoom. So, just try and pull for 1 good, maybe dps or sub dps, 5 star and the rest is easy. My team is: furina lvl 70, bennet lvl 70, fischl lvl 60 abd yaoyao lvl 60. None of them have 5 star weapons and mostly have random 3-4 star artifacts i got from chests and bosses. So what im trying to say, dont let some people on tiktok fool you, you dont need a full 5 star level 90 team to play the game! And there is no such thing as necessary characters, but there are some characters that are helpful. For example characters that have special sprints (yelan, sayu, lynette...) but still, they arent needed. Just enjoy the game and take your time, i was stuck at the quest with dainsleif after liyue for WEEKS because my team sucked, so then, i quit the game (not because of that, but because the fontaine update took a lot of space) months later i got a new phone, restarted playing and i completed it! (i did need to watch a vid on how to defeat the guard) and after that EVERYTHING went fastly and well. So uhm yeah, sorry for getting off topic, even if you feel stuck, you can just watch a tutorial on how to continue lmfao
If I'm being honest, the one reason why I still haven't returned to the game is because of the repetitive design for the NPCs. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who cares for the side quests and the characters who died from some of these quest, but it's annoying to see them alive with a new batch of clothes or a facial hair the next day in different areas. One more thing I'd like to add is that once a playable character gets put on a banner, their chances of dying would be reduced to 99% in the story. I don't think there's any point to an action story if you know who's going to win in the end of a conflict.
Any game with dailies is not worth. It means the game devs are after metrics usually to impress their investors. This is why the community feels that Hoyo doesn’t listen to them enough, because they care about investors first, players last. They are farming you for exp.
Been playing since the tail end of 1.5 and while I don't always log in every single day anymore, that's fine because I don't feel like I've gotten burned out on it either. Like I've told others who complain about feeling tired of it but still feeling like they have to play: don't treat the game like a job (unless you're a content creator, I guess, lol). It's a _game_ and it should be fun. If it's not fun, go do something that is. All of that said, I do still think the game is worth picking up even now, even with missing limited events, etc.
I started playing around 2021 (this will be my 3rd year playing:) ) and i PERSONALLY love the game, yes the devs don’t listen but, i don’t focus on that. I play the game for fun, and i played a lot during the time covid spiked and it gave me more reasons to live😭 I love the characters, lore, story, scenery EVERYTHING yes some people won’t agree with me but guess what? people have things called OPINIONS 🤯
I played it last year a lot joining late right before the Fontaine update and it's a good game. They fixed a lot of issues I had joining late since then. The game is good. Although I stopped playing after 4.2. I might give it another shot after the main quest of natlan is fully released, but unlike Star Rail, Genshin felt way too time consuming for me to play it regularly. Sure HSR does those things too but auto play solves those issues. Whoever thought it's good game design to level a character grinding flowers and materials each day instead of just exploring the world playing certain characters established an unfun system in gacha gaming.
I have enjoyed Genshin since day 1 and still enjoy it even with the dead patches. I would play for a little after a new patch is out and if there is nothing I would want to do then I just stop playing for a few weeks till the next patch is out. I don't get burnt out, hell the only character I got to level 90 is my traveler that I still play with.
Some people get burned out because they just don’t like the game. If you like the game, play it regardless of what the community says, if you actually enjoy it. And don’t force yourself to play, because you end up complaining about everything

playing since day one, still enjoy it. yes, even the "dead" patches. I don't treat it as my maingame, but it is still part of my daily routine. No signs of burnout yet.

Same situation here too. I still enjoy the game since 1.1 and treat it as a comfort down-time whenever cool stuff is updated. I already got most of my favorite character maxed out and I can build new ones whenever I feel like.

Exactly. There is absolutely no need to "do your dailies" daily. Do them if and when you feel like it and simply skip them if you don't.

To me, its the perfect game for casual and satisfying play and I enjoy it since I started, way back in 1.1😊
i love these new types of videos, where we see Bran's full body. It establishes a deeper connection with his audience

This speaks to me, i didnt know about guaranteed for 2 months when i started and realized getting eula at 54 was lucky as hell

Anyway, this is probably one of the best videos for those who've been wondering if they should try to play Genshin or not.
The cutscenes are epic 🔥🔥🔥
Im dissappointed I didn't look more into it when i saw an advertisement about it back when inazuma quests were releasing 😢

I played an obscene number of hours during the pandemic. Great game over all, the combat is fun, the characters are very well designed, you don't need to spend money on anything to have multiple characters. Perhaps I'll play again one day.
Great video. I absolutely agree with Bran. It's steel worth playing it. That's always gonna be one of my favourite games

I only say one thing, if someone search game for combat then just play PUBG, COD, FORTNIGHT, APEX LEGEND, ETC
That's a very different game type lmao, better options if looking for something similar with good combat
Souls games more like
Those guys are only shooter game genres which they are pvp games lol
Then why would devs make kits and reactions in the first place? Combat is necessary in the game, it just isnt the focus anymore since they prioritized on the casuals who dont bother. When the first thing you learn in the game is to beat up slimes using reaction, then its clear that they had combat in mind and a lot of people were hooked to the game due to that
Or just play Bandai fighting games or Capcom's DMC

I think taking breaks is a really good idea for on going games like genshin
Great intro video for a new player like me! Kudos.

I started playing it exactly at v1.0 well I was working now that to so no time of playing evertyime BUT the patch is so slow anyway (that took every 6 weeks) I can manage to get all the quests and 100% my exploration slowing but surely.. so even if it is a "dead" patch then I don't mind since it can only took me a few minutes anyway to online then after that I can now focus on my work again 😅 so yeah it feels great for me anyway so this "boring" moments from genshin can make me focus more besides playing (like "touch the grass") even if my account is having Max achievements, 100% my exploration, Designing my Teapot & also even playing TCG 🤣
Also this is the only game I played in my mobile though (cuz you know the size) that's why I'm more focused here while the same time focusing in my actual life... BUT what really makes me stay here is because of the LORE (Both Archon quest and even Side quest) and the music as well 😘
As returning player this video helped a ton thanks!
I started at launch, I stopped at 1.5 (mid 2021), just recently started again at 4.6 (few months ago)
This is the best time to be playing genshin impact. So many QoL (Quality of Life) updates, stories are nice and in abundance, character designs are improved. Although one thing to take note of is how old characters have been powercrept, so you'll want to pull for a few of the newer characters. But you get tons of primogems from exploring the new maps, so it can be a fun thing instead
I believe I did the correct thing by stopped when I got burnt out from playing, thinking "I can re-download the game later and it'll be much more fun that way"
Another Genshin Content creator that I would love to add and recommend on the list at 2:38, is MurderofBirds
He is phenomenal streamer who reads every single piece of lore from the game that delivers, much like Minsleif. You can find his Twitch channel where he has all of his VODs available from 1.0. He is like the (Irminsul) Time Capsule for this grand gacha game.
Totally agree! MurderofBirds is awesome. I wish I added him there, he reserves the recognition 😊
Dude arnold is so underrated. Been one of my fav creators since before he even started covering genshin
Murderofbirds, another Mihoyo whiteknight.
I stopped playing Genshin for a year in 2023, just got back into it and I'm so sad I missed so much. I started in 2021 and watched a lot of creators, especially Bran, I used to watch his streams almost everyday for a few months. It feels so nice to be back and Im catching up on so many videos :))
Wow you mentioned my favorite two content creators as examples!
I'm just kinda promoting the lore lmao.
i started playing in January 2024 and this game is lovely except for that community the game is top notch
I have played Genshin since day one, and still play it everyday. I love this game. Im also play others 3 Hoyo's game, HI3, HSR, ZZZ.
Hey it's pretty cool to see how far this game has come! We've been eating good over the years. Also loving the green screen stuff!
for someone who wanna enjoy open world game with decent story and battle and good music. with masive and huge area to explore i always recomend it. especially if they casual who just wanna chill game. but my only input is just get away from twitter or choose your circle carefully, better if your friend have enter that circle and can make sure its save and friendly for newbe.
The one thing i enjoyed the most about this video was watching Bran's mic change from purple to blue XD
But yeah, also a local Genshin Veteran, just sticking around for the story :)
I also love exploration and Genshin always offers smth new to explore, so it's an awesome game in that regard :)
I recommend it, but only play when you are motivated, otherwhise you'll burn yourself out. As for me? There are days in which I play HOURS, days in which I only do dailies and leave. Depends :)
Thank you for this videos. I was curious how you feel about playing genshin now, because I also noticed the change of your reactions from then to now.
I love the fact that there's literally so much to do, and you can usually keep up with current timed events without getting spoiled too badly (with a few exceptions - I played Roses & Muskets on mute lol).
i love this game, did everything in the game in 2 and a half months
A perfect recap Bran. I started playing just after you did and I still love it !!
another pro for starting now is that there are SOOOO many guides. Whether it's for world quests, exploration, and like Bran said building characters, so using those guides are very useful for
A. Getting AR quickly
B. Getting f2p primos
C. Completing it faster then if you were to try and figure it out yourself
I picked up this game during a weird and dark time in my life. I am now out of those tumultuous times but still play this game for dailies and events because I appreciate what it did for me during those times.
As an AR 60 player, this video is really helpful. Thnx bran..
I've been very busy irl, so I haven't played genshin in months, but once things calm down with my jobs then I can definitely get back to the game TwT
Have been playing since 1.3. Never got burnout tbh, I love everything about this game, and every new update is an absolute joy
Bran subtly reminds us he has legs with every new video
I play the game for fun, and i played a lot during the time covid spiked and it gave me more reasons to live😭 I love the characters, lore, story, scenery EVERYTHING
yes some people won’t agree with me but guess what?
people have things called OPINIONS 🤯
I played it last year a lot joining late right before the Fontaine update and it's a good game. They fixed a lot of issues I had joining late since then. The game is good. Although I stopped playing after 4.2. I might give it another shot after the main quest of natlan is fully released, but unlike Star Rail, Genshin felt way too time consuming for me to play it regularly. Sure HSR does those things too but auto play solves those issues. Whoever thought it's good game design to level a character grinding flowers and materials each day instead of just exploring the world playing certain characters established an unfun system in gacha gaming.
I, will stay for the lore and characters. Even if I have to suffer. Yes.
