Thank you very much Matonizz for your videos. I know that these things take a lot of time until it get done and uploaded . I appreciate your effort to help us to improve our techniques. I'm amateur player and I learned the wrong way how to use my tongue that's why I can't play fast notes. I really like all yours videos. Thank you very much once again. God bless you.

    1. Amazing video! 2. When you're playing, the music in the background is a little distracting but great for the intro. 3. Is there a possibility you might talk about dynamic markings? My band back in middle school used to have trouble with it, and maybe some other viewers might get valuable info from a video like that. Keep up the good work!

I need some advice. I play tuba as well, and I’m terrible at tonguing. Any advice on what syllables you’re using? Also, maybe I’m not using the correct technique, but I am told that it’s about the airflow being consistent, and the tongue moves freely? Also, how do you tongue the lower octaves so cleanly?

After 23 years of play I still shake with nerves when playing in public, would love to know how to deal with that.

    • @Matonizz

Hey Joe, I've made a performance anxiety video so check that one out:
      ua-cam.com/video/ppx60r8oCnI/v-deo.html
I will make more in future regarding this topic. Anxiety topic is probably the most personalized topic to talk about. There is always an easy solution! Not quick solution but easy solution. I could throw one of those "play in public more" type of advice but I think they are often useless, at least it was when I was working on anxiety aspect. With all honesty in order to give you a really good advice I would need to know much more details about you as a player. Good starting point would be to gather as many different tips and methods how to deal with stuff and experiment until you find something that will help you to deal with nerves. Again, not to get rid of it but deal with it. Once you successfully deal with multiple times you will get more confident and the issue will go away or at least decrease. Sorry for lengthy explanation but I hope this will make some sense to you and potentially give the idea of the path you need to take. Best of luck with your journey buddy!

Andy my advice is that if you’re good at practicing alone, and are familiar with what you’re practicing, think of it as a practice. You know what you’re playing, and if you mess up, just keep on playing. Know one will notice unless you make it obvious. I know it sounds harsh, but have the mind set as if you’re practicing solo.

Thanks for the video. Near the beginning you demonstrated the tongue between the teeth. Most of your comments were about keeping the tongue low in the mouth and out of the way such as using the anchor technique. In the double and triple tonguing section of the video you explained the difference between Da Ga and Ta Ka which both have the tongue start behind the top teeth. I heard 3 different ways of approaching this. Is that what you are saying? Sometimes anchor tonguing, sometimes between the teeth and sometimes behind the top teeth? I'm trying to settle on how to fix my own issues with this so I'm being serious. Thanks!

I never understood the point of triple-tonguing. I get that double-tonguing facilitates speed because you're alternating between the front and rear of the tongue, but triple-tonguing requires two consecutive "dahs." If I can do two consecutive "dahs" quickly, why not do three? It's like double-tonguing is like throwing a left-right combination in boxing, whereas triple-tonguing is like left-left-right, which can't be as fast as left-right-left.

    • @davispogor4460

personally, I find dah-gah-dah, dah-gah-dah faster, like how a left-right-left will be faster

Think of saying "Ta" when you tongue, if air is loose then that PROBABLY means the corners of your mouth are not firm enough. However it could instead be your bottom lip being rolled too far back.

I'm going to say this, Since I, a brand new viewer would like to point out some things when you post content. People don't want to be talked to about what is why and why it's caused, People want to know how to do it, a way to practice it, and not be given a lecture regarding one subject of musicality. Especially 18 minutes, while most university professors teach you in 3. Stop wasting both mine and your viewers time, we value it as much as you do. Don't let that be the reason why nobody watches your videos. Stay to the point man...

    • @Me-wk7dz
      @Me-wk7dz 6 років тому +2

You can't do it if you don't know why it functions because everyone's body works differently. Let me correct you on some things:
      1. University professors would NOT do it in 3 minutes Lol, more like 3 days and even after that they wouldn't tell you what you need.
      2. 18 minutes is extremely short
      3. You need to understand WHY it works to know HOW to do it.

Your repetitive background “music?” Is distracting and annoying. I’m almost halfway through your presentation and you haven’t said where the tongue should be. I’m sure in between the lips, as you’ve demonstrated twice, is incorrect.
