I was so out of breath filming this! It’s been a while since I’ve been at higher elevation levels. I remember going on a hike in Iceland recently and I felt like I was invincible hiking the air was so thick! Canada on the other hand will kick your butt and lungs! 😂

My content vote would be for storytelling about you, locations and compositions. I've been watching UA-cam for a while now and there are plenty of videos on technical/gear stuff so now I'm enjoying the entertainment more than the educational components. Thanks for asking.

    65% tutorial 35% organic.
I am interested in how you compose and process these amazing images.
It's not just the technical side of using the camera and applying the correct settings to achieve the desired outcome. Its having an artists eye.
I would stick with your current mixed formula but it's important to remember that most folk are watching to see you develop each image from start to finish. Everything else is a bonus. Keep up the good work. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      This is awesome feedback!!
Full education of exactly how I create will be available via tutorials. It’s highly valuable education for the landscape & environmental portrait world. The UA-cam channel is like giving a little slice of how I create.
      Appreciate the comment 💛

Hi Sarah, what I love about your channel. As a fellow Canadian photographer, I love how you can go to the same Western Canada locations that I do and yet you photograph it like I have never seen it before. Adding the self-portrait into these scenes is something so wonderful. You have a wonderful vision and talent and that's fun to watch. Respect.

    Hello Sarah!!!
First, such a gorgeous shot, and thank you for risking a little to get a lot with that rock climb as that is what life is about.
Also, I love how you weave education as you tell YOUR story; it helps others as to tell the “why” and put into context what reading a photo textbook or just a video about the fundamentals of photography cannot carry…and that is your enthusiasm and the way you inspire us.
The best teachers are ones who inspire us with a story, as that makes it all more memorable and less dry and classroom. Your adventure is our classroom. Thank you.

Beautiful photo. I like hearing about “the trials, tribulations, and life of a landscape photographer.” I think it helps “keep it real.” I also like hearing about your thought process and what you go through to set up a shot. I’d like to see more about your editing process and technique. You mentioned, in this video, you were going to move yourself down off the tree line, but did not show how you did that.

Girl you are amazing! For the pictures you create. Thank you for the picture, it’s stunning. For me, the later, the story telling. And looking forward to the prints. It would be fun to see you take someone with and you both get a dress portrait, you teach and show them, and you each tell stories.

Once again demonstrating your mountain goat-like skills by scampering up that rock! : )
I like all that you do in your videos but especially like to see you take the shot from conception to finished photo (including going briefly through the editing process...fast motion is ok). Your stories also give a hint to the emotions behind some of your shots.

Peyto Lake is beautiful. When I was there as a tourist during the shoulder season it was still packed with people. But, when the busses bring bus loads of people, what else can you expect. But, you did find a way to get a different shot. FWIW, I like seeing how you go about composing your shots in amazing locations and creating the final image.

I like both aspects of your videos. Every photographer has their own style as to the technical and how the apply it to the creative. It is fun to see how they differ and are the same. It expans the learning curve. So maybe a blend of both is the way to go. Then again what the hell do i know you are the pro. I be just a mere pesent!! Always a joy to hang with you ma lady!! I 😊

Great video Sarah, love that you have your yellow dress topic and work it all over the world, which is the story - your style and how you work it across the world. But I mostly watch your videos for the technical parts. So maybe 60/40 on the how vs why/story. Keep up the great work!

Loving your channel. Beautiful shot and post work. In future posts, would it be possible to be more specific about the actual focal length(s) you are shooting with?
Your 16-35 and 70-200 zoom lenses are each capable of zooming in & out to a variety of focal lengths. Knowing specifically what focal length you are zoomed to is much more meaningful than just stating you are using a 16-35 or 70-200 zoom lens.
FYI - The actual focal length of the zoom used for each shot will always be listed in your file's EXIF data when post processing.
    Thank you.

Photo lifestyle/business/adventure storytelling, will hopefully keep you progressing as you have with the channel and keep things more interesting for you to produce compared to a focus on technical matters. There is a saturation of techncial stuff out there so think the focus on you the person and your own adventures, development would be good for your own motivation and interesting for your audience. I keep saying focus for some reason! 😅

(@photosderichard) I agree with Brad, great to hear what your up to, where your going. But also like your how to videos when you do them. Sometimes just going with you on your journey, seeing part of your climbed, and how you got up the mountain. (Not much) Then your process of getting the image. Keep it up Sarah! Nice work!

Honestly, I like them both. It really depends on my mood. But I really enjoy all the content you've been putting out!
I was JUST at Peyto like 2 weeks ago! It was super last minute as my son and I were supposed to be in a survival course, which we weren't told was cancelled. So we made it all the way from South of Calgary to Nordegg before finding out. So we decided to hike the AllStones Creek trail. Then head up to Peyto on the way home. Our first time at Peyto. Definitely tourist central. hahaha.
P.S. What are the winter photography gloves you use, again? And do you have a link I can send to someone for you?
