    Brother man. Fellow American. My wife and I enjoy this, alot. Can you shed light on the best way to find and buy land with timber rights and all else. Where to look and fair prices. Seeking ourselves 30 acres at least. We'd really enjoy am informed video. Keep up the fantastic work and God bless your family.

      We will do a full video on finding homestead land, and how we found ours! Some parts of AK have property taxes, some don’t. The climate varies widely as well depending on where you are. 30 acres of off grid land is very obtainable, and lots of sellers offer owner financing. Thank you for watching, and we hope you find your spot!

    Enjoyed this video. Where did you move from? How many acres do you own? Have you seen any bears or moose on your property? As you can tell I’m very curious. Looking forward to your next video.

      Glad to hear you enjoyed it! We moved north from the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. We have seen lots of bear sign, and a few moose on the new property.

    Hi new subscriber here, I just came across your channel. I love the whole family off the grid vibe. I go to the live poultry place and get fresh turkey, chickens eggs and beef as it’s fresh. I have a question the bird that you killed is the meat tender or more tender when you season it and let it marinate overnight. When I buy a fresh bird, I usually will bring it home clean and season it. Let it cool down overnight and cook it the next day. I just saw another couple that did a huge Costco haul in Alaska because they also live in a remote area where you can’t just drive to the local store. I can’t wait to see what you guys do to the land and how you make it a home.

    • @holdfastalaska
      @holdfastalaska  2 місяці тому +2

      The meat is tender! We have not tried seasoning and marinating overnight, we will give that a try. Thank you for watching!

    Hello from North Carolina, tks for video. Yes will needs lots of fire wood for winter time......

  • @jamesmoore2267
    @jamesmoore2267 Місяць тому +1

    Makes sure you are burning better wood than spruce. It burns to fast and creates a whole lot of creosote. If Spruce is all you have make sure you are cleaning the exhausts out regularly.

  • @briannagorman3119
    @briannagorman3119 2 місяці тому +2

    It’s going to take an awful lot of those little trees to get you through the winter won’t it?

    Just pluck them when they are still warm. Also, wait at least 1 1 day before you eat them. Just a suggestion from an old timer.
