Seeing as it is the 30th Anniversary of Oasis’ debut album the mighty Definitely Maybe this year I’ve decided to start a new thing..yes another new thing. Every Monday I’m going to release a cover from the album and call it Definitely Monday. What better place to start than track one side one from the album itself. Rock N Roll Star was written by Noel Gallagher and he described it as one of the three songs he had written around that time that summed up how he was feeling about life “I’ve pretty much summed up everything I wanted to say in “Rock ‘n’ Roll Star”, “Live Forever” and “Cigarettes & Alcohol”, after that I’m repeating myself, but in a different way”. It was released as a radio single in America and charted at 36 in the Alternative Charts. It also features one of my favourite Oasis lyrics the line simply as “ITS JUST ROCK N ROLL” I want that one my gravestone!!
