for some context about ocean, ocean was kinda a mini godfather of cs, he would be an igl for a team that had super young players, most notably, stewie2k before he joined c9, so tarik has known ocean for over a decade, probably around the same time he met fns, anything said about ocean is more tongue and cheek.
Tarik and stew would queue with Ocean and M0e almost every night for awhile. Ocean is just the Goat and funny asf. I loved watching them just get verbally abused by M0e

Few things on defamation, you generally need 3 things to prove defamation. 1, did it cause damage, they will most likely perceive this to be financial damage. So, the question would most likely be, 'is what genghsta said causing yay financial damage?', probably not. 2, was it referred to yay? obvious. 3 was the statement published to a third party? yes clearly.
The issue is whether or not the statement made causes a serious harm to yay, if he losses a sponsor, an extension, or something like that, and can prove it's from the statement, then yay has a case.
The other side of things is that, the statement is essentially "yay is toxic". That can be defended has an opinion or value judgement and would fall under an "honest opinion" defense (if the jurisdiction yay lawyers up in has it). Other people have came out and said yay was a great teammate, so the likelihood of saying 'yay is a bad teammate' being an opinion.
The bribery statement could be a statement that can be defamatory if it causes damages. yay can say it wasn't true, or that the statement about the bribery, if reading from an objective third party observer, reads as a 'joke'.
It would actually be a really really tough case for yay to get money from, and the money he would get wouldn't be that insane.
Lastly, this is all dependent on where yay wants to take his case.

I read a comment online that made sense. Basically, all current/former T1/Franchised players are defending Yay while retired/t2/t3 players are supporting Ghengsta. You could view it both ways, either retired/T2 players are trying to stay relevant or T1/Franchised players are trying to keep their jobs/connections.
prob also t2 and t3 players look up to big names and think they shouldnt act like what yay did and that just because they r big names, they should i guess act more passive, but they forget sveryone is just human lmao
if anything the T1 players siding with yay during such a controversial period might even damage their connections so that's not true.

I think it's the principle of the matter. Not dickriding. Leaking private comms is not on. Tier 1 players understand this, hence the "support" for Yay. I think if it was anyone else, they would do the same. I get the feeling that most Tier 2 players, whether they were previously Tier 1 players or not, have kid's mentality and don't know how to be professional. It's just the environment. It seems petty.
The scrim is clip is tame tbh. The bribery allegation is more serious. But unless there are screenshots of a text from Yay's phone/discord, a call recording, or an email from Yay that is irrefutable, this is just he says she says, at this point.

Here’s my takeaway: here’s a tier 1 player who was at the top of the game when Chamber was meta. Now that Chamber got nerfed, he’s no longer at the top of his game. So imo, he was a one trick pony who wasn’t ever actually good at the game, just good at one agent. Not to say that he is bad at the game, just that he was never as good as his stats said he was because he had a crutch character

To be fair Yay was the one at fault there, he said "insert 1 OR 2 people" and then proceeds to claim that he said 2 people. If you can't give precise calls you shouldn't be calling, there's so many factors in the game and not being able to communicate your idea properly to your team is problematic, especially if you're gonna blame others instead of understanding it was your mistake.
That being said, it's kinda obvious that his teammates were trash and undisciplined and that this wasn't the first time they fucked up a strat, it's infuriating playing with kids who just aim and have 0 tactical awareness, so his frustration is understandable to a point.

The only reason why T1 players are showing 'empathy' and 'being nice' is because they are fking T1. They ARE influencers and they know better to say politically correct things, like you shouldnt post that, we shd take what others say with a pinch of salt, im not defending anyone, etc. If i'm in T1 and had srs beef with yay in the past, why would I post it and make myself look bad?? Just let others do it if he was really toxic, while I continue to enjoy and focus my T1 VAL games.
