I like these unedited rides without talking so much, I am posting my own ride thru videos around Australia on my Bullet 500, and a 1000km round trip in Nepal on a Classic 350. Wish I could capture the exhaust note like you do. Thanks for the inspiration.
A cheap microphone does wonders. I got a Zoom h1 that I got 2nd hand for 40€. How is the Bullet 500 treating you? I am pretty new to the sport. Is there anything to watch out for on these?
Is the external microphone down near the pipe? I have a Hitchcock pipe on my Bullet 500, maybe it is quite, compared to the stock pipe. I am new too, so I can't say. But I think we did well to get the Bullet and Classic 500s while they were still available, because of the push rod engine's long tested reliability. Seems OHC needs more servicing and can fail pretty catastrophically, so I heard. Riding a Classic 350 in Nepal was a different experience compared to the Bullet 500. It's fine, but really doesn't have the pickup on hills. But we were two up, so a bit overloaded. Putting rear disc brakes on the Bullet and Classic has been a bit controversial with the India/Nepalese mechanics I spoke to. The hydraulic fluid can overheat, the return spring fails, and the lever loses response and tilts down, where, because it is the lowest thing on the bike, it catches on things, ie on right turns it touches or catches on rocks on rough roads. It happened to me twice, once on the Bullet and once on the Classic. The Bullet only needed brakes bled. The Classic hit a rock and bent the whole right foot peg bracket, which was fixed by taking off the pipe, hitting it with a hammer, new spring, new gasket. No big problem, but no rear brake for 400km. Anyway, cheers and thanks for the videos. I guess it's European spring, so more rides? Here it's wet, so no new videos from me probably.
@@MrMomo182 The mic is in my backpack to avoid as much wind as possible. I have the AEW Goldstar exhaust, so much louder than stock, but it should be like a Hitchcock's pipe without a baffle. I did some light off-roading, so no worries about that yet. I'll be sure to watch out for it tho. It was a wet April, only 3-4 days of riding weather, but it's clearing up finally :)
