RM did say in Festa 2022 that the kpop industry doesn't give you time to mature, you have to put out certain kinds of music. Yes they had more freedom as far as creativity is concerned but they still had to put out music at an exhausting pace. I think many of us were expecting the hard core in your face angry rap that he is known for for his new music. But he wants to show us his colors and angry rap isn't all he is. I loved this whole album and got to see so much more of what makes up RM as a person and artist.
I've always wondered about the toll the "visual" side of the industry takes, as well. What would they have done with the time if they had only been required to do just _half_ as many concept photoshoots? Sure, that is art, too, but it isn't music, and it takes so much time and energy.
The irony is BTS already does music that cuts across numerous genres. Ask American pop stars if they have the freedom to make more than one change (if they're lucky and they're very, very good) in genres. American pop stars can switch genres, but in the vast majority of cases, they lose airplay and they lose audiences. So, which music industry is actually more restrictive?
I agree with you but I also think not many people were expecting any type of angry rap because namjoon among armys is more known for MONO which is nothing angry rap at all most people were expecting good vibes and healing which was exactly what he gave us.
Agreed. But with the politics...they have always deserved a Grammy for their work, but been Slammied!!! I think he deserves any and every music award out there to be given next year...or whatever he is eligible for. The whole album is brilliant. But this song. It's so beautiful. But it haunts me in that I feel his raw pain. I feel everything he went through. I am relatively new to BTS. February 24, 2020. I saw "On" at Grand Central Station on the Jimmy Fallon show. I had never heard of them. From that day forward I watched content every day. And I began to feel it. Their pain. They were experiencing such highs, but they had to sacrifice their whole lives to get there. Basically, very little contact with family friends or the real outside world. No real vacations. No real days off. Just work, work, and more work. They did 20 years of work in 10 years. Oh my. When youjeen joins in with her stunningly exquisite rock voice...it's almost an echo of the screams they have wanted to let out. Honestly I don't know how they did it. A long reaction....but to say I agree with you...give him an armful of Grammies. I think it would mean the most to him to win. Especially individually!
The fireworks are real. Not CGI. They are special Korean line fireworks. RM insisted on real. I loved hearing your reaction. youjeen's hauntingly interruption of her rock voice gets me every time. I cry. RM picked the perfect female voice to sing his emotional lyrics. RM is a genius!
Yes, the fireworks on ropes are an ancient form of Korean fireworks. This makes sense because Koreans were using fireworks hundreds of years before Europeans "discovered" them (thanks to Marco Polo's importing activities)
Thank you HD. They are so very mesmerizing I want to travel to Korea to experience them first hand. How about a firework/flowerwork travel event for Army fans? I would insist that RM and youjeen be there singing live with The Most Majestic loudspeakers!
This man's lyrics changed my life. I had to end teaching at a University due to an illness which doesn't get better. I lost hope, identity, ME. lot of his writing with BTS helped me cope. To me Black Swan isn't just about dancers. I spent years getting my degrees, creating my identity. When i was diagnosed and my life changed, it was my first death. ARMY for life.💜💜💜💜. Love RM and his raw emotions he shares. It helps me.
I'm curious. What are you challenged with? How are you now? I too have been devastated down to nothing. Everything taken away. And on my journey of healing I found BTS. So I understand how much they've helped you. So you died. I did too. But Praise God you are still here with a full soul and spirit sharing. Good for you! Brava!
I'm sorry about your diseases. I know how it feels. I've watched my adopted mom go through her diseased for 40 years. She past away on May 7,2015. She's had it since I was a teenager. which was in the 80's
first time I heard this song I cried. these BTS members always wear their hearts on their sleeve. but RM'S pain is so apparent here. beautiful video also super amazing production. RM looks amazing. and the introduction of the female vocalist was the cherry on top
He has a video where he discusses the meanings and processes behind the songs on Indigo - it is on the Bangtan TV channel. You should check out his own words on his work! He’s so inspiring and I can’t get over how self aware and honest he is
GIRL!! I was just about to comment the exact same thing. I think John would have the best understanding, by hearing Namjoon's own explanations of his lyrics.
@@OT7tillheaven I always try to stick as close to the boys words on their own work as possible. I appreciate other explanations, but when the artist themselves will freely explain their own work, that’s where I go first. And Joon has no shortage of interviews and performances and explanations for this album. And it’s absolutely GOLD.
I think RM believes that nothing in his lyrics touches anyone but him. He now even believes that his lyrics are not what the other members need. He has spent his 20s writing for BTS and now has a conflict within himself as to what his lyrics mean to others and that is so sad. His lyrics are so meaningful and impactful to the world really. He has shown how important it is to listen to his work for the fact that BTS is still one of the highest rated Kpop stars (even though streaming services are loathe to admit it).
RM has taking that huge big box of crayons your parents would never buy,and used it to make this album! What a performance yesterday at the concert yesterday morning. To see most of the artists singing live with RM was amazing!💜
To RM. I do wish you a Lovely Night. I feel that wish for yourself depicts the deep meaning of the whole song. RM, the flames into the fame are gone. You deserve to rest among your Indigo and Purple flowers. What a beautiful closing shot. Please breathe. Please rest. Please take all the time you want. Your album is finished. Your busy time is over. Ironically your military service may give your mind and body time to recoup without the burdens of fame hanging over your head. Will you be able to quiet your brain your creativity? It's your choice. Refresh your mind, body, and soul. Take off your mask. Do You. I do wish you a Lovely Night surrounded by nature. By purity. By silence. By your Wild Flowers turned from fireworks into beautifully scented blossom-filled flowerworks! How stunningly exquisite life can be for you now! Truly...the Best is Yet to Come. I pray for you and love you and support you in your continued journey toward His Light and Truth.
Thank you Nellie. Great idea. I have commented to this song watching many reactors. And I always have to make this comment. I dearly wish him a lovely night.
Joon helps me to accept who I am, that life wouldn't go as what we always want, Yoongi helps me to defend myself and stand on my ground. That whatever happens I must go on. Hobi helps me to have positive mind, to be the best version of me Jimin helps me to be always kind to others Jin helps me to be comfortable in my own skin and that I need no worry about future, just live Tae helps me that it's okay to be different, I don't have to follow what others do JK helps me feel loved and safe, knowing he will always be there for us
Wild Flower just seems to be one of those songs that elevates music. Hopefully other artists will follow. One of the reasons this is so popular is there isn't a lyric in here that someone can't relate to. The listening to his heart with the crescent moon outside the window hoping for a peaceful night just resonates as well as other lyrics.
You have to watch RMs explanations in his own voice i.e Indigo Film Magazine & Interview with Zach. Also RM was live with the Korean artist-collaborators in Indigo in a bare stage with a few hundred lucky spectators. Even the way he is promoting his album is uniquely RM!
Hey just wanted to let you know about “ the artistic freedom” they were taking about is not them not being able to express themselves to write and produce their song but the fact that the idol industry doesn’t let an artist have a freedom to rest and grow as an artist. Since it is really competitive after they release an album and do promote they pretty much have/ had to go back to produce the next album. It is really hard to stay in a spot light if you dare to have a break since somebody else will take the spotlight. But musically thankfully bts were kinda outsider in the kpop industry since bang pd allowed them to experiment on the field Ps sorry for my bad English.. I’m not sure if I am making sense
this is why although I'm worried for them in the military and my army self just wants them available I recognize I am also selfish.. Maybe being in the military will give them respite from the music industry pressure for a bit.
@@jenjin9492 yes while your feelings are valid. That’s how I see it (obviously I’m sad, worried and I hope they will return safely) it gives them a break from the flashy world. Do you remember how pressured they were in 2018 by the success and were taking breaking up into consideration…😭 and ever since they‘ve gotten even bigger and are now a main stream.. I think it could help them to leave as a fellow human being and also Rm did say about indigo that he finally did it how exactly he wanted. Do you remember the talk about focusing on solo projects back in June. They specially rm was worried but we gave them the clarification that we will always support them and trust on their decision. And see how Rm now a days seem happy and care free. It will help them grow as a person and a musician. So if you look at the bigger picture It will be crazy when they come back in 2025.
@@apobangpo5435 yes.. we can only imagine how it feels to be at the very top, suga always says it's lonely up there. We see this all the time with other people, movie stars, CEOs, people at the top of their game. some people criticize why complain when u have everything, but can u imagine the pressure? . Lets hope they stay safe, and come back stronger :) 💜
Hi John. Thank you for this reaction. Recently Bangtan TV dropped RM’s concert at Rolling Hall, an intimate venue in Seoul, where he performed various songs from Indigo in front of 200 fans. They sounded even better live, if you can imagine it. Choi Youjeen performed Wildflower with him and I got literal chills. Her voice is so beautiful and pure. I suggest you check it out. Every artist that Namjoon chose to collaborate with him was the right choice. Imo Indigo is a masterpiece and deserves recognition.
✋✋✋ My mental health would be in a much poorer place if not for Namjoon. His sensitivity, intelligence and kindness mixed with his amazing talent… he is a true GIFT to the world. He certainly has been for me. 💙
Wildflower is so beautiful. I've been listening to it over and over and it still moves me each time. Regarding freedom and the idol industry - while yes BTS was given more artistic freedom than others in the industry, I think RM here is pertaining more broadly to other freedoms that are sacrificed with fame, especially in the case of BTS' historic rise. As the leader and often the one who has to be the spokesperson for the group (especially in the West) I think the shackles he's referring to are just the growing weight and responsibility he's had to carry. Whether it's a k-pop idol or not there's definitely a new reality to balance as a celebrity. Also, when you get the chance you really should check out RM Live in Seoul! The live version of Wildflower is awesome (the other songs too!)
I've been waiting for you. Dude, RM put out a lot of videos on youtube explaining what each song means to him. One he actually show art objects that influence the songs and he did several interviews explaining. Never heard an artist do so many. You should watch them!
Namjoon deserves every bit of love and respect in this world of fake love ! Man is brimming with pure selfless love for others! ✨✨✨ We love you RM !! 💜💜💜
I think they did have a lot of creative freedom. But based on Festa dinner this year a few members , mainly RM,said it was hard to find that creativity due to their schedules. Suga said that when they first started as a group he had so many songs and beats but lacked the experience. But now he said he has the expertise but the lyrics/music just don’t come. They are involved in so much including games, webtoons, merchandise, corporate sponsorships, etc. etc. BTS is a business unto themselves and I think that was hard, especially for their leader RM. I have my own theory of the purple flowers at the end. (Disclaimer- not a botanist but after some research, I think they could be indigo flowers.) The flowers of the indigo plant mainly have purple or lavender flowers. Many species are found around the world. When the leaves of the plant are crushed, boiled and processed they create a beautiful blue--Indigo. And like the color indigo, this side of him had already been present beside ARMY. But when he went through the long steps of the process of being BTS, the Indigo side of him is now visible to all. Indigo and purple. Two sides of the same coin so the speak.
This man - don’t have words. Sure he is an intellectual genius but his mind is so much deeper than that. He has touched & healed so many hearts & minds. His humbleness makes him that more precious. I didn’t need translations the first time I saw this to feel the powerful emotion it contained & it brought tears. Still does. His whole album is perfection.
The fireworks were real. Not CGI. I thought that was lovely to know. They are special Korean line fireworks that I would love to travel to Korea to witness first hand. So in some way...the fireworks were natural... not fake. RM insisted on the realness.
I was rewatching your reaction to this video. Have you seen RM's interview with Pharell Williams? At one point he's talking about questioning who he is. He said something like 'am I a diplomat or what?' refering to him giving a speech at the UN. And he also said he had to stop for a while being the translater for the group. I think him being the leader gave him a hughe amount of stress and extra responsabilities amang the backside of fame the other members also have to endure.
While BTS does have an atypical amount of artistic freedom for the idol industry, it is to express the group’s feelings and thoughts. The members have often talked about how they made the choice to sacrifice individuality (to some degree) for the good of the group. So, there is some limit to expressing his personal self through the group dynamic. (Not to mention that the investment of time that BTS takes which leaves little time for personal projects. He stated in an interview that that’s the reason it took 4 years to make the album.)
I think you need to listen to Namjoon's own interviews about it - watch his magazine film. Namjoon states its not that he didn't have the freedom, they had so much freedom but he had to incorporate the voices of 6 other people in what he wrote, not just his own. For the first time it's his own voice purely 100%.
🙋Namjoon is incredible!! He is a huge comfort in my life. All seven are honestly but RM is the first member I could recognize and place and he's always been a steady comforting presence since the beginning
Wildflower it's a masterpiece this song is so beautiful i cried listening to it 🤧💜 RM delivered everything on this song his album is just amazing our leader killed it i'm so proud of him ❤💙💙💙💙💙
🤚 RM’s lyrics gave me faith back in music. Also. you really have a beautiful soul and your reactions often help me transition peacefully into my work day. So thank you too.
Namjoon and BTS inspire me to be a better person and work with ethics and love for what I do and my peers. Also I am very happy to be part of an ARMY for the first time, lol. I think he knows what he means to us, but he is grounded, which is great! That is why we admire him so much!
I feel that he became RM for BTS and Namjoon is different. I feel when he says I will be back, it is not to BTS. He plans on that, I think he means RM and Namjoon will become one. That he can be himself rather than everyone’s hero. The one that is as he said sometimes more diplomat then artist.
I still play this album everyday, it's perfect. His lyrics has helped a lot, so much so, I sometimes say, what would RM do or what would BTS do? I weigh scenarios 💜
Ding ding ding! I think you've got it totally on the nose with the "imposter syndrome" statement (and good Lord, I've heard similar things from SO MANY respected, established, successful people in my field lately, so he is NOT alone in that). That said, RM's "not a hero" theme is one he's visited many times (Ampanman is the most obvious one that comes to mind). I find it a little bit of an irony, because the name "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" was supposed to signify their desire "to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets" (cf. J-Hope), which is... pretty darn heroic, if you ask me. And yes, RM's definitely been a hero to me. I really don't think I would have made it through COVID lockdown with my sanity intact without the help of his words and music and the incredible amount of support he and the rest of BTS gave to ARMY.
John I highly recommend you listening to the whole Indigo masterpiece then watching Namjoon’s album breakdown. I think you’ll get a better understanding ofhis creative process and meaning behind each song
I think we already know RM is anything but shallow but Indigo is a great representation of just how deep he is. He draws on his poetic prowess to create such meaningful lyrics and weaves them into the beautiful songs he gifts to us. He is an artistic genius in so many ways which is further solidified in how manages to weave 10 different genres (chapters) in a certain order, into a cohesive story of his thoughts, feelings and experiences of his 20s. From what I understand, he wanted to do a lot of his own promotions and has done a fantastic job arranging diverse platforms on which to connect with us to talk about this masterpiece which is Indigo. He goes through and explains his thoughts processes and tells the stories behind each song. A lot is in English and most is already subbed if it isn't. Despite being the leader of the biggest music group in the world, he's incredibly humble and down to earth. We should all remember that he is Kim NamJoon the man first and RM of BTS second. We typically see RM as it is his most widespread persona. Which is why I love that they make so much content reminding us that he is, and the others are, human.
I like her connections! That makes a lot of sense in how he released the videos. As you saw in the album review, Still Life is only the 2nd song on the album and everyone will say to listen from beginning to end. As I was watching this video (and yeah I know I am late to the party) I started to think about the album in its entirety. I feel like the album, being his last archives of his 20s as he has said, almost goes chronologically. "Yun" is the first song and it's about being a human before being an artist. "Still Life" is second and I feel like the upbeat, modern and moving feel of the song leans into how his fame rose and the modern movement he was making with BTS. Then we go into "All Day" which talks about always fighting and being ready. The next few songs are slower and "Forgetful" leads into "Closer," which tho it is intimate in lyrics, could be considered trying to be closer to the intimate inner self that is so far away. Next, you get "Lonely" which is literally about the loneliness he feels as he travels around the world and spends so much time in hotels. "Change Pt2" is the dissonant track that could lead to the dissonance in being everywhere but nowhere at all, and we close out with "Wildflower" which has the wish to be happy and live a quiet life away from the "Hectic" (right before) life that has been up to this point. Lastly, "No. 2" talks about always moving forward and not looking back at what could have been. These are obviously just my takes in addition to what our Joonie has said in interviews and things but it makes sense! Even tho they are late, I hope you enjoyed my little theory in addition to hers!
He is amazing. He has said that when he writes music for BTS it is hard because he is only one and he is trying to write for 7. He said his own voice is not theirs. So now he gets to do this and he doesn’t feel like he is trying to push his words on others.
🙋🏼♀️ yes! His humble vulnerability and raw beautiful poetry has touched me for years. I absolutely love this album. It has so much more meaning after watching the Bangtan TV interview where he explains it all. Recommend it!
I think I understand RM saying he is no hero (or villain) it’s not because he is not proud of the good things he knows he has done. He is happy that he and his members have helped people we’ve heard his speeches about that. It’s ok if others call you a hero but not if you start calling yourself a hero .. This humbleness I think is likely part of their cultural upbringing.
I just realized that Choi Yujin is the singer that sings the only two k-rock songs I have on my phone. And I remember hearing her songs the first time, I was so surprised how beautiful her voice is ,and now I understand why I loved it so much in wildflower , RM has chosen the perfect vocalist for the song . I feel like I have the same taste as him when it comes to melodies and vocalists , and all this to say how that makes the song 10× better for me as a listener .
Thank you thank you thank you yet again! I love when you do reactions to "explanation videos" (fan theories) also. Have a great day. I'm thinking of you and if you're doing well.
No offense to bookish theory, but there is a video on BTS’s channel where Rm explains what each song means and I think you should’ve checked that out instead. It’s always better to hear it from their own words.
In the Album Magazine Film (doc about the album) RM said that he may be the one that is the most involved in the creative direction, lyrics and stories of BTS but he still couldn’t say that he *is* BTS, since there’s 7 of them. He said that this is the first time he feels he has made sth that is really „his“. Maybe watch that doc, all the featured artists and the producers get to speak, I think as a musician you would really enjoy all their insights into the process! Love your reaction and that you took the time to really dive into the songs! I hadn’t seen those videos by bookish yet, they were great. I love her voice too 😅 Thank you!
Also his recent interview with Zach Sang was super insightful (and all in English). You will find out for example for which recording RM was completely drunk 😄 (and actually but that drunk recording on the album)
Idk about the explanation video but RM said in the PSick interview that he made up the word Flower Work. He says it’s a cross between a flower which is an expression of something humble and soft but a firework is wild explosive so to speak. He said on stage he’s like a firework but off stage he is a flower soft and humble. That’s what all the visuals in the video are. The song is basically RM opening himself up about his struggles and insecurities as someone famous. Even tho we see him as larger than life he doesn’t see himself that’s way. He’s just a normal man who struggles with thoughts of insecurities like anyone else. But he knows he’s in the limelight. So he goes on stage and gives us RM…Once he leaves the stage he is Namjoon again.
Here i am, just crying yet again. Wildflower kills me (i cry every time). The song is perfect. And Indigo as a whole is so special. There will never be another group like bts, individually or group. Ever.
RM has a number of videos that extensively and truthfully explained his songs in INDIGO himself and what are his thoughts about the songs he wrote. So there...facts.
Namjoon’s album has been on replay for me since it came out ! He’s amazing and I actually feel quite an affinity with him and his introspective mind. So this album just seems perfect to me. And Bookish Theories is great! Have you seen the one she did for JK’s My Time? It goes deeply into the explanation of Map of the Soul: 7 and the psychological theory by Jung and the pains JK’s thoughts in his song that is part of the shadow series of songs 💜
Raising my hand as you suggested, whilst also bawling here in my living room over my morning tea despite seeing this video multiple times and streaming the album nonstop since it came out 😂 that’s the impact these honest words and melodies have on me.
I think you'd like his *rm live in Seoul* where he sings few of his indigo songs accompanied by some of the artists he collaborated with and ends it with 2 of his songs( not from the album)
You should check RM Indigo Album Magazine Film, it's on their chanel Bangtantv. Namjoon talks about every song on his album and explains their meaning. It's very insightful and I love listening about his process of writing and making music. I appreciate that other people tries to introduce BTS, either as a group or soloists, to new people but I'll allways think that's better to listen to their own words and not what other people suppossed they have said
I have listened to his album EVERY DAMN DAY since i got it… it makes me emotional.. gives me peace and my love for him is just never ever ending 🥹 fabulous album Namjoon FABULOUS💜 6:48 And i just want to wrap my arms around him and thank him❤
He did a Magazine film interview thing that goes in depth explaining all the songs, so I highly recommend checking it out, he explains it a lot better than other sources would (and the tiny desk concert he did after you've heard the album😁✌🏾💜). AND he's done a performance in New York and a small one with 200 army's in Seoul (lots of content I know😥). Also RM has said in a couple interviews now that though each song is really different from one another, the album is best listened to in order (like A to Z). So from here I think you should start with "YUN" which is the first song on the album and go from there😉👌🏾 (my top three favorite songs have to be lonely, wild flower, and still life🙄💜)
Another great reaction! Thanks for checking out the explanation videos. I also picked up a lot of meaning in my own views but these helped me have a deeper understanding and appreciation.
I don't think the restriction part has to be blamed on company alone, BTS exausted themself too, working every single day even when there wasn't a schedule they used to post about them at the sudio. Even during festa they talked about it more as the lifestyle idols have in general: waking up, doing make up, doing schedule, practicing and then having time to just eat and go to sleep to start again and again every day without a rest, without having the time to grow and do other experience. The problem is the mentality behind kpop world, what everyone think an idol HAVE to do to have success, what people EXPECT them to do and what idols themself know from the beginning have to do to reach fame and success. You can see it with BTS taking a break, as soon as it happened netizens in korea was posting about them being tired of their fame and not deserving to be on top anymore because they're resting. You have to understand korean mentality and work ethic to fully understand this. In the case of BTS I think it wasn't just the company packing their schedule but BTS themself being afraid to stop running while they were on top (they themself said they choosed to continue to release music instead of taking a break as they planned, continuing to postpone their break for a reason or another, for grammy, for covid, to give fans more music etc). Of course the company is doing their schedule so is not like they don't have the responsability on how much free time they give them, but I want to point out the only 2 times BTS took a real and "long" break during their nine-year career, was when THEY asked for it and Bighit gave it to them, even delating their schedule to gave them free time. I'm sure that if BTS wasn't scared to take more breaks during those years and asked for it BigHit would have no choise but to give them as mush free time as possibile. And not just because they have good relationship, good artist management etc but even just because BTS at that point were that famouse that you can't say no to stuff like this without ruining the buisness relationship you have with them
They do have freedom but recent success with English songs, Dynamite and Butter, have had put on some pressure to focus on the things that took away from what they want to focus on. I think Bit Hit’s growth in to Hybe and it’s acquisition of Ithaca Holdings have had impact on a direction where BTS and the company are heading towards. Hybe has been putting them to do things that are not necessarily benefiting BTS members as artists, developing games and such. When RM talked emotionally during their Festa back in June, he sounded very frustrated that he’s not given a time to self develop (implying they are too busy doing many things that are not related to what they want or need to do as artists). I hear the frustration and his desire to go back to beginning when everything started. As RM said, listen to the album in order of the tracks, you’ll understand where his state of mind is.
They have been involved in doing games and webtoons early on in their career. And their English songs is something that they wanted to do because they wanted to put out songs to help bring happiness to people. That was their decision. That frustration has to do with the kpop industry of having 2 or more comeback’s a year where most artist have 2 years or more between albums. Maybe you personally feel a certain way about their English songs or the webtoons and games but I think it’s important to listen to what bts have to say instead implying that they forced to do something they don’t want to do.
To be clear, I am not implying that they are forced to do anything. I listened and understood what they said (I am a native Korean speaker, so I understood all the nuances of words that were not translated exactly). Obviously I don’t know the exact situations of everything as I am not an insider. Both Namjoon and Jimin indicated that they can’t say everything but they believe that we, Army will trust them. Based on few short things Namjoon recently said, I made some personal observations.
This entire album is a complete masterpiece, from the poetry of the lyrics to the conceptual flow of the songs from track 1 through track 10. He's brilliant, and his creativity has been inspiring. His words have helped me. I agree with you when you say that he's a hero but doesn't realize it. I don't have enough words to express how much I love, respect and admire RM as a person and as an artist. We're very lucky to be able to witness music like this.
Guess you recorded this before the live in Seul was released yesterday love love the performance….. I been obsesses with the album since it came put wild flower and N2 my favorites
When I first watched Wildflower I went over to Weverse and wrote for RM, however you need to move forward, I support your choice. Whether he just wants to go back to writing poetry or not be leader, be solo, m we got his bac, how could we not. So far it is my favorite on the album. Other than Still Life, I haven't paid close enough attention to the other songs. Visulizer sounded pretty cool, I listen will working, so it didn't allow a deep dive yet.
They still have a lot of freedom of expression. That was their deal from day 1. But I think she means self censorship. The industry wants a perfect idol. And will destroy people’s careers and characters in a flash. So I think while they are very open and able to self express I think there are still things they might not share with us. Either bc of expectations from industry, randoms and their hate, or fan’s expectations. They have all expressed that they want to share more sometimes but hold back. For example with the enlistment announcement. They said they would do some solo work and EVERYONE twisted their words. It spread like wild fire. So much misinformation. Some of it on purpose. That was something hard to share for many reasons. So it wasn’t something they could talk about openly until recently.
I hadn't watched the Bookish Explained for these, so that was a treat. Thanks for including them! These MVs and songs are so great, so much meaning, but personally Wildflower is my favorite even though it breaks my heart. I hate how much he's struggled, and I know some things will be a lifelong struggle. RM is definitely inflicted with imposter syndrome and always has been. I relate so hard. I had a thriving business and self-sabotage it because imposter syndrome just ate me alive. I'm grateful Namjoon is sharing so much with us, willing to be so vulnerable and real.
Thank you, I came here to write about his. But you did it perfectly. 💜✨
I've always wondered about the toll the "visual" side of the industry takes, as well. What would they have done with the time if they had only been required to do just _half_ as many concept photoshoots? Sure, that is art, too, but it isn't music, and it takes so much time and energy.

Ask American pop stars if they have the freedom to make more than one change (if they're lucky and they're very, very good) in genres. American pop stars can switch genres, but in the vast majority of cases, they lose airplay and they lose audiences. So, which music industry is actually more restrictive?
💜🙏🏻
I agree with you but I also think not many people were expecting any type of angry rap because namjoon among armys is more known for MONO which is nothing angry rap at all most people were expecting good vibes and healing which was exactly what he gave us.
NAMJOON DESERVES A GRAMMY FOR THIS MASTERPIECE!!!!!!! 💜 wildflower is ART!!
💯
No grammy is scammy he deserves whole world happiness
Definitely
i agree!!
Have you noticed the word "flowerwork" instead of "firework"? I love his wordplay so much. He is such a genius 😍🥰
Brava!
I found BTS during a very similar experience, and I agree 100% about Black Swan. 💜
I hope you're fine and happy now 😊
hugs. They really are our angels. I am sorry that your ill. I am glad u have us and BTS now.
I'm sorry about your diseases. I know how it feels. I've watched my adopted mom go through her diseased for 40 years. She past away on May 7,2015. She's had it since I was a teenager. which was in the 80's
I have RM lyrics tattooed on my arm. That is how much his words have helped me.
That's a Wow!
first time I heard this song I cried. these BTS members always wear their hearts on their sleeve. but RM'S pain is so apparent here. beautiful video also super amazing production. RM looks amazing. and the introduction of the female vocalist was the cherry on top
He is a brilliant man, brilliantly gifted in mind soul and heart. His lyrics speak to me deeply, so poetic 💜
He is definitely one that inspires me! He writes so eloquently!
Isn't he amazing .. RM makes you have feelings you didn't know you had.
Yes. He is amazing! I'm so glad he shares his genius with the world!
Very detailed in expressing his feelings. I think that's his means of connection to us. His BTS songs are Proof
I hope you post this addressed to him on Weverse...really great
Thank you Nellie. Great idea. I have commented to this song watching many reactors. And I always have to make this comment. I dearly wish him a lovely night.
✋️✋️✋️✋️✋️- hands down - RM is the most relevant poet- composer that can inspire me to be a better version of myself. #MasterMind 💜🙏🏻🔥👏🎆
Our leader😊❤best voice best song best mv
RM is beauty personified in every way... Breathtaking album...
RM does not get the recognition he deserves❤️
Joon helps me to accept who I am, that life wouldn't go as what we always want, Yoongi helps me to defend myself and stand on my ground. That whatever happens I must go on. Hobi helps me to have positive mind, to be the best version of me
Jimin helps me to be always kind to others
Jin helps me to be comfortable in my own skin and that I need no worry about future, just live
Tae helps me that it's okay to be different, I don't have to follow what others do
JK helps me feel loved and safe, knowing he will always be there for us
Wild Flower just seems to be one of those songs that elevates music.
Even the way he is promoting his album is uniquely RM!
exactly
Hey just wanted to let you know about “ the artistic freedom” they were taking about is not them not being able to express themselves to write and produce their song but the fact that the idol industry doesn’t let an artist have a freedom to rest and grow as an artist. Since it is really competitive after they release an album and do promote they pretty much have/ had to go back to produce the next album. It is really hard to stay in a spot light if you dare to have a break since somebody else will take the spotlight. But musically thankfully bts were kinda outsider in the kpop industry since bang pd allowed them to experiment on the field
Ps sorry for my bad English.. I’m not sure if I am making sense
You expressed it perfectly!
Exactly! 💜✨
this is why although I'm worried for them in the military and my army self just wants them available I recognize I am also selfish..
Nah nah nah. You need to react to LONELY AND CLOSER asap man. These 2 songs are really beautiful.
I can’t wait to hear them!!
And you should watch the behind the scenes for these videos because they are great to see
RM's lyrics are amazing. He inspires me to choose my words carefully, because through his example, he shows me that words are powerful.
✋✋✋ My mental health would be in a much poorer place if not for Namjoon. His sensitivity, intelligence and kindness mixed with his amazing talent… he is a true GIFT to the world. He certainly has been for me. 💙
🙋♀️I raise my hand and its me that every time he write a letter on weavers I write one back to him, I always feel like having a conversation with him
What don't you see the Namjoon videos explanation, he said by himself what it all means.
The whole indigo album is Golden.
Wildflower gives me chills, it's amazingly beautiful. It deserves 100 grammies. He is a lyrical genius.
こんにちは😊
RM がSoul Liveをしました。アルバムでコラボした方が一緒に出ていて、このWildflowerも歌っています。とても素敵でした💜💜
The growth in his artistry 🧡
💜💜 right?!
My simple take: RM loves nature. Going from fireworks in concerts toooo field of flowers/nature/normal
The fireworks were real. Not CGI. I thought that was lovely to know. They are special Korean line fireworks that I would love to travel to Korea to witness first hand. So in some way...the fireworks were natural... not fake. RM insisted on the realness.
still life was actually a surprise release mv
I was rewatching your reaction to this video. Have you seen RM's interview with Pharell Williams? At one point he's talking about questioning who he is. He said something like 'am I a diplomat or what?' refering to him giving a speech at the UN. And he also said he had to stop for a while being the translater for the group. I think him being the leader gave him a hughe amount of stress and extra responsabilities amang the backside of fame the other members also have to endure.
everythingoes heals me. And I'm thankful for RM, at the end of year to read those lyrics makes me happy that I survive this year...
Difference between artistic freedom and personal freedom/dating/going local store/walking down the street anywhere
RM and BTS helped me, saved me even and continue to do so 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I feel that he became RM for BTS and Namjoon is different. I feel when he says I will be back, it is not to BTS. He plans on that, I think he means RM and Namjoon will become one. That he can be himself rather than everyone’s hero. The one that is as he said sometimes more diplomat then artist.
You should watch the behind the scenes of both Wildflower and Still Life!
He put his whole soul in this album and it shows 🔥🔥
🙆♀️ Both hands raised high! 🥺
RM said he has come to believe life is about wandering!
Did you watch RM ay home? A day in his life.... A must to watch! 😎💜
Heck yes! Im actually posting it soon!
I recommend the video making film, it details the process of each song and the collaborations on the Album.
Finally.. Been waiting for you to react to RM's new mv 🙌🙌🙌
Lol right?!?! I’ve been wanting to so bad!! Can’t wait for the full album reaction!
Lol right?!?! I’ve been wanting to so bad!! Can’t wait for the full album reaction!
@@JohnReavesLive be prepared because it will be no skipping track album 😂.. i have the album on repeat everytime and i can't get enough of it..
I will try to be RM to my children, support them and take away some bad things . I think he is a person to look up to.He is so smart.
Deep thoughts with RM 😳😳😳
for real though!
❤3l es brillante y sus letras siempre nos dan algo en que pensar, me encanta su musica.
Here i am, just crying yet again. Wildflower kills me (i cry every time). The song is perfect. And Indigo as a whole is so special. There will never be another group like bts, individually or group. Ever.
RM picks great collab artists. I like this song a lot.
I was so 🤗 for your reaction. I click so fast. You nice keep 🏃🏼.
So Beautiful songs from RM
This album deserves a grammy
You must react to the making of Wildflower video!!
Absolutely❤
namjoon explains the song writing process and his thoughts about the making of Indigo, i hope you check those out. thanks
Raising my hand as you suggested, whilst also bawling here in my living room over my morning tea despite seeing this video multiple times and streaming the album nonstop since it came out 😂 that’s the impact these honest words and melodies have on me.
Please react Jin going to military from their channel BANGTANTV and can you react to their vlogs?please and you nice keep going 💜💜💜🥰🥰🙆♀️🙆♀️🙆♀️
I appreciate that other people tries to introduce BTS, either as a group or soloists, to new people but I'll allways think that's better to listen to their own words and not what other people suppossed they have said
I have listened to his album EVERY DAMN DAY since i got it… it makes me emotional.. gives me peace and my love for him is just never ever ending 🥹 fabulous album Namjoon FABULOUS💜 6:48
And i just want to wrap my arms around him and thank him❤
He did a Magazine film interview thing that goes in depth explaining all the songs, so I highly recommend checking it out, he explains it a lot better than other sources would (and the tiny desk concert he did after you've heard the album😁✌🏾💜).
About time, I was wish for your analysis so far. Nam is so perfect, I love the all album. It is amazing.
I love how the first verse ,when it was repeated in the last part, sounds so different.
