Zikala sounds like he didn't pass grade 4
😂😂😂😂😂😂truth and he sits in a high paying position
Was thinking the same. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Pumping this situation up for political expediency. This happened with that building burning down in Gauteng as well. What happened because of that? Nothing.
Allow ministers to do they Job ....ppl just hurt it happened in George
the burning of building in jhb was investigated n an enquiry issued Go read the news
his not make sure what his reading😮
Uzalwa ngobani?
When corruption becomes dangerous to lives...
Get the political vultures out of George ...
Mr. Zikalala: The Minister of Natural Disasters
The result of political fabors and BEE
Beke Cele has not sent a single word of condolence to the families of the 87 people that are murdered each day in South Africa. So the developers are just following his example. They learn from the best.
Isnt this BEE mentality...?
If the Construction Industry Development Board (cidb), a schedule 3A public entity, is governed by government then ultimately the Public Works Minister Zikala bears the blame for not running a cadre tender tight ship, and he should be dismissed. If not, someone at the top of the management chain failed.
Misleading title
You would think that public speaking be a requirement on his CV.
Is the Western Cape the only construction tragedy that ever happened in South Africa? The ish these ANC people really think South Africans are stupid
The Eastern Cape is worse
@@user-fl5pr4lc4o Yes, it is, on this scale. This tragedy is showing massive systemic failures within the Western Cape Government.
@@NormEngel-ge2it what a out the recent construction failure in KZN . I am referring to only to the recent one
Now the second tragedy in South Africa, where foreign nationals feature heavily. The first tragedy, the Joburg building fire, involved illegal occupation by foreign nationals, and now the George building collapse, where allegedly overwhelmingly foreign nationals were employed, and died. And just today, we hear the unemployment rate for South Africans is at its highest level yet. These companies employ undocumented foreign nationals, as a way to circumvent employing South Africans, which means the payment of UIF and other labour protections, including safety measures. These companies, are basically involved in just another form of human exploitation and trafficking. The Western Cape Department of Labour really dropped the ball here, just like the City of Johannesburg. Imagine how many more undocumented foreign nationals work without labour and safety regulations, at building sites all over the country, while South Africans languish at home, without jobs.
I have a small construction business. We need workers. Not one South African came knocking on my office door looking for work. Only Zims and Malawians.
@@antoinettevanderwesthuizen3525how many south africans do you have and how many foreigners?
don’t lie 😮
Thank You🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻🌿
Does this person understand what he is reading?
Cheap labour and hire employees without working permit no ID
Political expediency at work.
RFP houses?
sad indeed , politician playing to the media gallery ………….. Western Cape is well organised
Zikalala needs to learn recitation like we used to as kids, his reading is like that of Zuma
It is clear that the construction industry, is not controlled strictly enough. Contractors are not registered with NHBRC but they are erecting building daily and do contract work daily. Something needs to be done
The NHBRC is good at taking money, nothing else. When I had my house build, they never came to the building site once. I had to pay them thousands of Rand for what?
@@comancheflyer4903 Yip, they just take and loot that money, they are not building skills of builders or growing the industry..
But they want that sliding scale of money..
He does not understand what he is trying to read.
Who are you?!!!!!!!!!!!

What for? In the land of the blind, one eye is king.
Some people are evils in they’re soul they still practice slavery and cheap labour in our country.where is human rights commission.some people must be sued.zimbabwe and Malawi and Mozambique must explain why they’re people are here illegally to be slave in South Africa.people must sued
Now would be a good time to check regulations at all newly built buildings for the last 10 years at least ....otherwise we may see the same collapses in future and do not forget ,, water runs in concrete
Totally agree. I
How does water "run" in concrete? If not flow in a culvert or any stormwater system? Been in construction for many years now, building major structures. Very curious how I might have missed that. Perhaps there was a gap in my education
Now would be a good time to scrap BEE where unqualified people are appointed in a position they are not trained for.
Siyanicela nibatshele abaholi benu ukuthi kulungile ukukhuluma izilimi zesintu abazaziyo - lesingisi akusona esakithi ngakhoke siyasehlula; ikakhulukazi uZikalala.
What a mess. Major cover up going on . Corrupt construction industry falling apart at the seams. And greedy developers cutting vorners with cheap, illegal labour. What could possibly go wrong? Who's going to pay compensation to the workers????
Workman's Compensation Insurance maybe?
Maybe if locals citerzens stop thier BS of demanding the profits from job sites, going on strike and allowing unions to milk the system, maybe then, they will get hired more often..
@@comancheflyer4903 If they are not bankrupt.
