Thanks for making these videos! Very helpful. Have rental prices increased a lot since you recorded this? I checked the website and only find a small handful of listings sub €1000 in the Paphos area.
Thanks for the comment! I recently looked for some properties as well, and I definitely found some great deals at under 1.000€, but mostly on FB Marketplace. And the prices increased a little, as we have more and more people coming to Paphos, yeah.
Thank you Rico. This is super content and advice. Me and my wife plan to move to Cyprus in Sep 2022 and we find information in your videos very valuable. One thing we are concerned about is wildlife, like snakes, spiders, ticks, insects, etc. How often do you encounter these things on Cyprus?
Hey, thanks for the comment and happy for your move next year. I wish you all the best! Living in Paphos I haven't encountered any snakes or big spiders. Sometimes some bigger insects, but you can easily deal with them. :)
Thank you very much for your work! Can you specify about security deposits? How much are they usually? Also, what are the requirements from a landlord, ie. Monthly rental payment at the beginning of the month, more than one month in bulk, working contract proof, etc etc? Thank you sooo much!
Hey, thanks for your comment. This depends very much on the landlords. Usually you pay 2 months deposit and the rent at the beginning of each month, but I'm sure most landlords are very flexible. For example, we paid just 1 month deposit and we pay every 15th of the month. Hope it helps. :)
Hello! Thank you for the informative videos! You mentioned that there are some local groups where landlords list their rental properties themselves.. could you share some of these groups!!? It looks like FB and bazaraki nowadays are mostly run by the agents..

Hey! Thank you. Yes, it's possible, but mainly in Paphos/Ayia Napa city and nothing big of course. But, 1 Bedroom, yes!
Hi Rico, Super informative videos. Thanks for sharing such valuable information! I am currently not in Cyprus but thinking about relocating. I would like to search for a place from a distance, but would be worried about getting scammed. Would you suggest using an agent or renting an airbnb, which seem to be super expensive atm, for a week or two and do my search locally? I don't drive either. If an agent is ideal, do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for your question and feedback! For me, the communal fees are included, but I see many properties on the marketplace where you have to pay them extra. Depends on the landlord. :)
I've rented with a private landlord and now with one of the larger agents in Paphos, both times the communal fees were included and the info about it was up front when I was viewing the properties.

Hey there! Nice to meet you and thanks for your comment. Happy the videos help. I bought a car, but I can say, sometimes for shopping a scooter is totally fine. But if you have a kid, or if you want to drive long distances often, then a car makes more sense. :)

Is October a good time to long for looking for a long-term rental? I want to move around this time but I am worried everything will slow down because of the holidays in December... I don't want to wait until March. Do people actually find something around this time? Prices seem to have been going up drastically in Paphos this past year, unfortunately. I am hoping for a better price after main tourist season.

So, it totally depends on your personality, but in general, I don't think college is the best option for creative kids. I think school is great to learn the fundamentals, but after school I started my own business and this is how I got where I am. If I went to college, I would've not even finish my bachelors by now.

March is the end of the winter and beginning of spring. It's not as hard as July / August.

I have a labrador. Is it a problem to find a property to rent with a dog? I know that in Malta for example (where I lived 4 years) most owners forbid animals in their properties. I would rent a flat for a year or two, then put my property in downtown Prague on the market and buy my own property. What are the charges and fees when renting through a real estate agency?

@@Rico can't seem to find any around the 400€ price. Also does Ads on the Facebook market are they genuine. I understand lots of scam ads are out there.

as long as you rent only you are fine. I did had te very bad idea to invest and it has been disaster. So my main recommendation is not to invest in Real Estate there. Trust me.
