We are bearing puller manufacturer in China and focus on export wholesale. I think this video is very good! It teach many people how to use bearing puller. 👍👍
I was trying to get a large bearing off a front fork of a zero turn. Tried everything. Hear, air hammer, sledge hammer, crow bar, foul language. Nothing would make it move at all. Bought this bearing puller from HF and it pulled it right off. I have a really strong 1/2” air impact. Walked that bearing right off no problem.
Hi! Do you think this puller set can remove alternator bearings from car? Can the two black pullers on each sides be extended longer past what looks like 3"=4" height set up you got there?
@@JohnVHLife I actually think it could but probably won't fit inside a small space. There is a different type of 5 price puller at h.f. for just that application. But it will work for a center link, or pitman arms, or a idler arm.
How do you get the bearing back on? I have got a similar issue... I need to pull a bearing off my steering column, but I am unsure how to get it back on again... Just hammer it?? :)
That’s what I figured. I should have a piece of scrap metal laying around to bear on while I pull off the race. Just picked up this and the FWD bearing adapters. Gotta replace bearings on my Focus tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing. I just wish they put the bearing diameter capacity on their website. I have a large bearing on a 2.75" shaft and the outer diameter of the cone is 4" I doubt that the larger one will open up that far. Yes I know it will split in half but will the bolts be long enough to catch the nut threads. I think I will buy the OTC one as that shows the capacity specs. I want to save the cone ($70) which is in great shape to replace a seal behind it, not wreck it. If I need to remove a bearing to replace it because it's shot I will either torch it off or cut a slit in it and chisel it to get it to move. I think I will get this set anyway to have around.
There's a new invention out called a ratchet wrench that uses the appropriate sized "socket" that fits the nut or in this case, the bearing puller. No need for that adjustable wrench......…….sweet Jesus Dude.

Amazing that you did that with an adjustable wrench. You're skillful.
Next time just readjust your splitter once you create enough clearance to fully seat it under the bearing race.
Thanks for sharing.
It helped me a lot in deciding which bearing puller to buy!
Got to love tools that work
Ive had some awesome luck at HF! Only a few things fail.
Thanks for sharing this video. I am glad it worked out for you.
Thanks!

I have a transmission to take apart and scrap the metals is this what I need so I can separate the two parts
I got the Jaws underneath however I used new bolts I had to buy
I wonder if I can use this to remove a ball joint
Might not be strong enough for that

Impact Wrench makes turning quicker. Especially if you have a lot of travel on a shaft. Agree, great tool.
Good point, thanks!
very good
Do you think this will work for taking the lower unit out of an outboard motor?
Not sure, never done it.

I used a press for mine
could you use a socket - ratchet instead?
Sure
Can this be use to remove a wheel bearing?
+NoneMechanic101 I don't see why not
Ok. Thank you
I used this for a wheel bearing. I had a problem the bolts were too short
Serge Shariy the bolts? How so? You mean the hub shaft was too long for you to reach the splitter? What type of vehicle was this?
Beast. Beastmode Beastly beast, brother. Worldstar.
Not Bad!
Harbor freight actually sell a splitter that will fit, its sold as a single item for $20. I had to purchase one to remove a pinion bearing.
Is it strong enough to remove a 1.5 id axle bearing and it's press ring off?
That I dont know for sure.
Will this work for a upper control arm bushing?
I honestly do not know
JohnVH Life okay thank you.
Will this remove races off a hollow shaft? ie. The inner race of a wheel bearing off a FWD hub?
If you use something on the end of the tube for the puller to push on

Hi John. Were these the bearings for the Patriot's transmission?
Yes it was.

But that would be too easy!

The only reason I know you’re a real mechanic is you were too lazy to get the right size socket lol.
Ain’t nobody got time for that! 😂
