I never believe the Moog hype until I had one. There’s truly something special about their instruments. The Sub Phatty, I think, is one of their best designs and best sounding synths of the 2000s era.
I have most modern Moog instruments (Model D Reissue, SS37, Voyager) and the Sub Phatty is still my favorite! It also interfaces perfectly with Omnisphere and the MIDI seems tighter than all my other Moogs when using with a DAW.
I'd love for Moog to make a Sub Phatty 2.0 with analog envelopes and modulation. I think sound-wise the Sub Phatty might be the best of the modern Moogs, but always thought something sounded off with the envelopes/modulation. Which I attribute to being digital, but could be wrong, so I've always been curious how it would sound with analog envelopes/modulation.
jgk381 Idk there are lots of synths with digital envelopes that work fine. I like the ones on the Phatty. A 2.0 would be great though. 3 envelopes so you could have a separate one for modulation, 3 LFOS with mod destinations like the Sub37, and an extra octave of keys and I’d be happy. Oh and give the shift functions knobs on the front panel. I’d pay $999 for that.

I never got why you did not a module dsktop version of this synths . Much more deserved than the Minitaur .

setphaser yes yes
Not sure the hh sounded like a hh. But who cares! You don’t buy a moog to make a high hat sound lol. What a synth!
i love the sub with my talkbox
tony tohka which talkbox are you using? I’m probably going to get one eventually.
I really miss the sub phatty, connected with it in a way the sub 37 didn't
If you initialise the preset. Then don’t save what you create. Will the preset still remain or will it stay as you leave it?
It will stay as you leave it. If you press and hold bank and then press and hold one of the patch buttons that's when you'll save a preset.
