  • Mount Keen is the most easterly munro in Scotland and at 939m, it is a popular mountain, particularly on approaches from the South East in Glen Esk.
    However this combined bike hike is done from Glen Tanar, approaching from a north easterly direction. It's much longer if you're on foot, but by using a bicycle on the approach track, the 17miles took just 4.5 hours
    This mountain offers an excellent introduction to climbing the munros with relatively easy access, excellent footpaths and wide ranging views from the summit.

    I walked up Mount Keen last September a long walk from the bus at Dinnet. My legs were gone on the steep slope near the top I met some great people on the way down past the half way hut they gave me a shot of a bike and a lift to Aboyne.
