Whoever said “Never meet your heroes” was so wrong. Massive thank you to Jesse and all the ERRA boys/crew for the absolute premium hangs and chats all day yesterday. You are all just as good of people as you are musicians 🖤
one of the most underrated guitarist who is also a sick singer
Ibanez should really make a Jesse signature model, he's such an incredible guitar player
And a left handed version
definitely should
I like how Jesse doesn’t think super deep into specs. A simple guy like me. I would LOVE if Ibanez gave him a production 27” signature.
I could listen to Jesse talk about guitars forever. I just wish I could understand his mind in how he writes and creates. He’s just a genius
We caught Erra this past weekend in addition to Novelists, Make them Suffer and Void of Vision. Absolutely insane show. Erra are local to us here in Birmingham, AL but I've never gotten a chance to see them until now. I got to hang out for a bit with Pierre of Novelists after their set and he was super cool. We nerded out on gear which is always a good time.
Honestly know next to nothing about Erra. But Jesse seemed so cool during the vid I went and immediately watched a bunch of guitar playthrough vids he did. Very cool style of playing.
0:48 RG752LWFX
People seem to complain about Ibanez model names for the sake of it. Once you get the hang of it those names make sense the great majority of the time.
The 52 is most likely derived from 520, which used to mean 2 humbuckers.
FX at the end means it's a fixed bridge guitar. In the past fixed bridge models had a number that ended with a 1, e.g. PGM301, RG1451, RGA121.
What's left is LW which refers to the finish most of the time. In this case it means Limba Wood, i.e. the top.
Even though things have gotten somewhat confusing since they introduced the Premium line, within 10 minutes anyone can understand their system overall.
Dude those guitars up close are so nice, the show last night was absolutely mental.
I saw ERRA at a small venue a few years ago. Small crowd and I was going crazy! While still on stage after playing, Jesse made a point to say hi to me and noticed me groovin' lol. Bought a beer for JT later and got some pictures. Killer band, great show! One of my favorite influences and why I have a few Prestiges myself. Thanks for this interview man, much appreciated.
Great interview! Jesse seems to be a chill dude! Gonna see them next friday. Can't wait
This series is so cool to watch. Jesse is a legend, glad to see you getting these opportunities!
watching you talk about guitars while the plot in you playing in the background is pretty cool, awesome video
Good interview mate. Fascinating conversation to listen to, you're great at leading the conversation to where it needs to go to provide us with all the information we need. Cheers.
Thanks man! Convos like these are super easy because it’s just two guitar nuts chatting about guitars
Thank you both 🙏
Great Interview Keyan. Thanks.
Nice to see some discussion around scale length and string gauge.
I recently blinged out my RG7421 just like Jesse's. It has the flat walnut finish on a mahogany body (looks better than the basswood ones) and gold hardware with a red tortoise shell pickguard just looks so classy yet modern. The whole thing only cost me like 350 bucks, 200 used for the guitar and about 150 in hardware. I plan on adding BareKnucle Pig 90s and upgrading the nut to finally finish off the project. Like you said, you can get quite a lot with cheap stuff!
Any pictures? That sounds rad.
200 for that guitar? Holy steal man
@@dahliasmiles7122 Body was beat to hell, but it still played great. Gives it a little more character now. Looks like a relic build.
Dang id love to see it. I used to have ab rg7421. Best 7 string you can get for under 800 dollars. Never ever get rid of it. Im surprised the rg7421 hasnt gone up in value im sure it will.
@@jimberjamber8540 you should post some pictures to photobucket or something so we could see it. You must be so happy with it.
This dude talking about going 8 has me super excited.
Two legends, stoked to see this 🎸
Richtig geiles Video !!
These RG752 with fixed Gibraltar bridge are amazing if you hate those floyd-type systems and having a single pickup between humbuckers also annoys you. The Prestige neck for 7 strings is great .
It's crazy how Jesse didn't even know how to use a DAW amd he is one of the best guitarists of our generation
I feel like every band needs one guy that just knows how to play and write. Add in the other technical computer/studio people and you're laughing
@@settingfiretogiants Agreed. I'm so bad at all things recording too. I literally just want to play more guitars. Probably should pick up those skills
I had no idea the bright red RG was a modded Prestige XL model. Totally thought it was a LACS or something, because that it one sweet piece of gear. Always loved it the moment I saw it, Jesse always has great taste
Lol Jesse is like me... 😂
I just plug into a Marshall stack and crank the gain. If you have certain technique, tone in your hands, and have a feel approach it works out just fine.
I'd love a loop pedal and a Bulb pedal for sure though...more chonk is always good.
Enjoying this Series Keyan! Looking forward to more guitar chat🤘🏻
Great episode. I love jesse and erra kicks ass live
Jesse is the fucking man!!
Super sick to hear two people that I look up to talking about stuff that I love. How sick were they live though 😱
So new signature from Jesse is an instant buy for me
Hey, Keyan, what Evertune issues with strings you were talking about? I'm building a guitar with Evertune and this is important for me.
If Jesse ever has a signature I'm gonna 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
I have the 752LWfx it’s a basswood body black limba top, neck is 5p wenge maple, rosewood board
I have the purple version of that guitar it’s the 752XL-SP
Great video, that red guitar is awesome.
alsoooo, are we going to see part 2 of the josh Smith episode?
Bham represent!
Ooooo. Someone should definitely install some luminescent inlays on all erras guitars.
His Evertune RGXL needs to be a production model
I’d buy that day 1
@@Christian-eq7uh i’d buy that for [many] a dollar!
it would be great to see their gear too (amps, pedal, etc).... GJ anyway!!!
10:15 The Plot in You playing in the background xD
crazy that they pitch shift
Is the red one bolt on?
I’d really like this dude to write more 6 string stuff in a#
So I wonder, if Jesse plays with pitch shifter live, which guitar is he using in studio?
I think that wood grain is Limba.
Now i know thats Jesse pitch down his guitar, which ones are the best pitch shifters plugins or pedals right now?
I've been using the digitech drop for years now and it's really good.
The digitech is cool and most prefer it, but most now just use whatever is on their amp modeler bc of midi and less gear to bring with them
I want that brown one so badly. So classy looking. Ibanez is so overpriced for what you get though nowadays. I'm sure they'd sell that signature for like $2k lol
12-56? Goddamn that's pretty thick for d# standard
It's G# not D#
@@snowbloodx for the top 6 strings it's d#
@@snowbloodx 68 is reasonable for a g#
For a 25.5 its rather light
@@t_separator ???
I think you should go more in depth with building report asking personal questions etc. Not just talking about the guitar the entire time. Very cool interview regardless
clicked on this, then realise its not aired yet. the disappointment aha
Hey everyone I have a question. What program can I use to Record guitar that’s free and good for beginners? I have a Mac computer and a Mac book air. I don’t want to spend a lot of money. I might be good at recording might not.
You should have garageband on your mac already! Should work fine to start with
Reaper is a good solution. It’s not free BUT it has a free trial period that you can use until you’re ready to pay.
Highly recommend Reaper.
REAPER
Reaper has a “free trial” you can use indefinitely
Ive always wondered why dumbass korn never used a 27 or 28 lol The ever-tune plays amazing, everyone needs one !!
They don’t tune lower than A minus like a few songs so no need for a 27 id love if they did a 26.5
