Whenever I hear this plane flying I know I need to get over there and watch! The pilot is my brother… mostly! So this video to me is a lot more special than the rest!
It may be older but i love these birds.

Most of my childhood was spent outside, listening to these planes flying overhead and above the lots next to my grandmother's place in Brownsville TX.
I remember there used to be a time I was unable to properly identify the plane models and the types of engines they were using; I would use incredibly unsophisticated terms I made myself to differentiate them (square-nosed/open nosed for the radial/301, and pointy nosed for the turboprop/402s and above).
I find myself a bit biased in favoring the sound of the radial engines that the 301s have, despite learning that the turboprop AT variants have the more powerful engines. Still, though, there's something about the sound of the radial engine that makes it sound much more...aggressive.

I used to hate the turboprops and even tho I do like em now there’s just something about the good old radials you can’t beat!
Im grandson, son, brother and cousin of pilots, i grew up flying with dad on a 301b, now we dont fit inside the cockpit, i love its sound, i loved so much how he used to fly over the school, if i was lucky, it was at a moment when when we were outside playing, i was the coolest kid back then.
I bought and flew that exact radial near Chicago and flew it down to cuauhtemoc chihuahua Mexico back in march 2012
