I'm a bit mixed on the official industry placements. Glad they added them as an option, but some things don't seem too well placed. If you want some fast running I recommend going into industry placing. While in that mode you fly very quickly (or walk when in third person). Backing out of it drops you where you are.
Recently found your channel, enjoy watching while I work from home. This game also looks extremely interesting. Been obsessed with trains since I was a little one 😂
If you go 30m radius from the cordage side and start a right cut just at the tail end of the buildings I've made it work for a loop and have a nice, mostly signal tinker free entrance and exit since I'm not doing cordage JUST yet. Not sure if big locos can fit, I plan on keeping Betsy so maybe she'll live as a shunter there :D
I slightly adjusted the sawmill on mine. I also set it up where you have to do some switching to unload. The re-rail controls are left click to select and rotate, right click to place.
There's a good place by where the river exits into the lake, and to the side there's a big area of water. I've seen two people put it there, but one put it on the other side to the other person
If you are doing trackwork, put down a telegraph office next to the engine before walking away so you can port back easily and quickly. Then just delete them. Looks like time to make a wye behind the logging camp.
Me and a friend just started a save on a blank version of the lake valley map and all the industries are no where close to where we put them. Also noticed the Montey shaking in the tracks on a 40ft radius so look forward with some issues at speed around those turns.
Love it ! Finally a new map, really like that. Still i dont like the lack of planing tools, would like to have a height map that i can draw in and then see the planned routes outlined in the world so i can build in the planned directions. But well, cant have evrything.
The Century of Steam demo in Denver last month also allowed the player to teleport back the locomotive. If Loco Shortline Operations, Run8 and CoS have it; it seems like a quality of life feature that would benefit RO! as well.
@@KerboOnYT I downloaded RO! again to play this update, and I did notice it does feel more stable. So obviously some bug fixes have happened. But we need more quality of life features. The fact RO! has been out for two years and it's impossible to see from the cab in first person for example is insane. Just adding the option to sit down or a new crouch height to lower the camera to the window level would be a huge advantage that would encourage more first person locomotive driving.
I'm the person that has to always be going forward. I don't know why it drives me batty, but I don't like pulling cars in reverse. I will drive all the way aroud the map forward, before backing my trains.
Man, I just bought this game. Absolutely FUBAR'd my first build. I'm definitely trying this. I wonder, theoretically if you could put a turntable at the end of the logging camp.
When I deleted the telegraph office it came back so I think the industries would do the same EDIT: I tested and deleted industries do NOT come back when you load the save
I'm retired and have plenty of time to play the game. But I like seeing what others do with the game. I am in the middle of building the new map after I set the industries in. Put a couple in hard to get to places. just to make it challenging. Have not seen how the new map with the industries placed already looks yet. I wish they would fix the brake issue. Hard to do delicate work. The telegraph lines need worked on too. They do not connect right.
The brake issue, according to the Steam forum, is not an issue with the game so much as a bug in the latest version of Unreal 5. I haven't seen anything different
To be fair, you could just have the two sides of the logging camp connect into a switch and headshunt, maybe with a small turntable. I know balloon loops make it easy, but it isn't very interesting
it's weird how the game behave, in comparation to Derail Valley. that first turn should of being rated as 20 - 30 Km/h but this game is made diferently..
I’m a product manager for digital media marketing. And I play this game because it’s fun to create my world! Right there with you!
that's fun :D
Thanks for sharing your “play time” once again, even I’d it’s not that often. Definitely appreciated, Kerbo!
I haven't messed around much with Lakeview yet but I'm glad they added pre-placed industries
I Will watch every episode kerbo I've been a sub since your first series ❤
Thanks for sticking around!

Probably just have to make a run-around track at the logging camp. I love this series. Always appreciate your help on Reddit with my Run8 questions!
First episode in and you're already imitating Hyce and putting the loco in the dirt. Time to pee in a cup...🙃
The new map looks so nice

You know, I have had to walk a train or two... no teleporting. Lol. Great video, thanks for making these!
Damn that video is so smooth and crisp

you are rtght i play this game for stress relief it is really enjoying the series

Yes please! I'd much rather see bug fixes and QoL features rolling out rather than a trickle of content now and then.

8:48 @Hyce: Smells like Kenosha
Nice watching you and the dialog

Thanks for the video. Could you move the logging camp away from the hill??

You can't delete industries. Place a new one somewhere convenient
@@SC.KINGDOM You can delete industries on the new map
@@KerboOnYT it causes issues I believe
The creators of rro should make it so that the Johnson bar/reverser when you pull the bar back it should have move cutback
Wasn't expecting a series this time.

Dont underestimate the train nerds, there are many
Nerds!
Trains are also really cool, i love mechanical stuff amd combustion engines in general
RROX still works with the new map so you can get the high speed running.
How do you rotate placing objects now since the update?
I believe it's the same key binds as curving track
To be fair, you could just have the two sides of the logging camp connect into a switch and headshunt, maybe with a small turntable. I know balloon loops make it easy, but it isn't very interesting
As I covered in the video, I prefer reverse loops due to limited game time
I'm not sure but from watching your vid looked to be a flat area to the right on entrance might be able to get a loop in there.
@@Clint450f Spoiler alert for episode 2 :)
im a sanitation worker all i do is throw trash 12 hours a day but i love these kind of sim games
It's a good way to unwind for sure
@@KerboOnYT just got this game today too trying to learn how to play as of rate now lol
they should add an option when you start a new map for preplaced or no industries
They are preplaced now but if you dont like the ones that are in, you can delete them and place yours. same for pinevalley now.
Are you by chance still in the original discord kerbo I cannot find it anymore
I'm not and I don't see a reference to a Discord on the Steam store page or the website
heya .. roe has been updated for the game .. i use it all the time with this game
Another fun numbering sheme i made up again:
C1(loggs)
C2(planks)
C3(beams)
C4(iron)
C5(coal)
C6(steel)
C7(barrels)
C8(crates)
C9(tools)
CX(oil)
CC(passengers/players)
C/ (Outside classification)
Other:
Loco [C0 01 A]
Tender [C0 01 B]
(if not there as C0 00 /)
Caboose [C0 01 C]
Caboose 2 [C0 01 D]
Misc [C/ 01 / ]
In practise:
[C0 01 A]
{[C0 01 B]}
[C1 01 A]
[C1 01 B]
[C1 01 C]
[C1 01 D]
[C1 02 A]

[C1 03 A]
[C1 03 B]
[C1 03 C]
[C1 03 D]
[C0 01 C]
And in winter for example it would be
[C/ 01 / ]
[C0 01 A]
{[C0 01 B]}
[C1 01 A]
[C1 01 B]
[C1 01 C]
[C1 01 D]

[C1 02 D]
[C1 03 A]
[C1 03 B]
[C1 03 C]
[C1 03 D]
[C0 01 C]
That's very comprehensive!
Would you consider releasing your map to the public
No, but I believe I've seen completed maps available on Reddit and Steam discussions if you don't want to build your own.
Dude I am in IT too but administrating a statewide finance system. You give me hope that my channel can take off as well! 🙂
Give it a go and just have fun
You excited for railroader?
I'll check it out when it releases
Be staan die game
Nice! Lost interest in this RO when the frames took a dump in to the 15's with the updates on my map. This might rekindle my interest ..

Will do!
