Some people honestly think that Travis is one of those players that doesn't care about roleplay and just loves to roll in combat. I pity those people who don't understand how amazing he is at playing D&D. I'm not talking about just him being able to play comically stupid, I mean the fact that he's willing to go above and beyond and anti-metagame by doing things he knows are disadvantageous to himself as a player for the sake of character realism. And he does it without hesitation.
I like Rick and Morty. I don't, however, think it is anything massively cerebral. I do, however, find people like you amusing because you act smug and superior over an assumption you make that is irrelevant to my point. Which is that the meme is more cringeworthy than the fanbois, because it shows how much of a little snowflake you are. :3
Travis who played Grog, knows more about whats going on than grog the character does, but only plays the game with the knowledge that grog would have. There's several times in the game where travis is becoming frustrated by the groups over planning/thinking/talking a situation but won't say "we should be doing XYZ" because Grog has an Int of 6 and wouldn't come up with that plan.
It's definitely up there. For me, I enjoyed his conversation with Craven Edge in the outhouse, as well as the birth of the Grand Poobah's signature dish; GoFiBePo. If I'm being honest, Grog has had a TON of epic moments throughout campaign one.
The Angels at the ear is a nice touch. You are extremely talented, I loved this so much. Thank you for this, what must've been an incredibly taxing work.
See what Grog is not telling the salesmen is that all of those teeth and scales are from all the different formerly alive members of the Chroma Conclave >This tooth right here used to belong to Brimscythe. Concaved his skull in with my ax >Now this shattered skull right here? This belonged to Umbrasyl. >This little doosy right here belonged to Vorugal, watched a Demon from Hell tear him to pieces before he was impailed with a Tree >Havent quite killed Thordak yet but lemee tell you, he's next.
I always liked the idea that Grog is so stupid and bad with numbers he doesn't actually know that 3 is more than 2 and thinks he got a great deal in the end.
Wait, if grog can only count to 4, how does he know there are 14 dragon teeth? My only guess would be that someone else told him there are 14 and somehow he has remembered
That was so in character; I couldn't believe it when I watched it live. What's amazing about the cast is how quick they are about coming up with these little responses to situations. Just impressively witty and fun to watch.
That was fantastic, served her right. Though, to be fair...that's pretty darn expensive since most common folk who would be buying books would probably be making 30 gold a month if not less lol.
@@Anduril74871 To be fair the book was quite literally about Legendary Artifacts, sooo ya. It'd be extremely expensive to just have any knowledge on something like that.
I love Travis's awesome role playing skills. Another good example to reflect what anti-meta gaming is my group and I were roaming along some hillsides and the DM had the group roll a perception check. Everyone made it except me and so they felt a slight rumbling in the ground and heard marching, but I asked the DM if I could use my passive perception to see if I noticed they stopped marching. He said yes and so my character turned around and shouted back at them, "WHY DID YOU STOP?!?" I then proceeded to get ambushed by a group of orcs who heard me and charged over the hill I was near the top of.
I just finished the first campaign, I’m really going to miss Grog and Scanlan, The two of them were hilarious, and Percy added to the humor once in awhile also.
This was also one of the moment when I wanted to actually slap travis in the face, I hated him but I still loves his PC at the same time. Is that weird??
Really throw the person you're negotiating with through a loop and counter their offer to purchase your goods by offering then for free... I mean you're just gonna follow them home and steal it back right?... or do only rogues do that?....
Could you put in the description or title what episode your animations are from? I'm not yet caught up and I'd like to avoid accidental spoilers. Just want to be sure I can safely watch your animations because I love them ^.^
Matt missed a golden opportunity. All the potion seller did was accept a counter offer. Imagine him standing his ground and refusing to haggle with Vex.

Truly, he manages to pull off a character with an intelligence of 6 perfectly.
Honestly the only person in their group better than him is Matt, imo.

Braincleaner I was speaking of Sam.
Braincleaner I think most of the times Travis acted outside of Grog’s intelligence was because he was annoyed with the party’s planning
The way the potion seller silently sticks out his hand with no expression is the best.
Ian he knows deep down
Don't question his stupidity, just take the deal
The fact that it reminds me of Matt Mercer with an evil goatee makes it even better for me
Lmao ive watched this episode and matt actually holds out his hand with a straight face and its fucking perfect
I like how his little list says "Vex stuf... NO Touch!" and right under it is the dragon bits he ends up selling.
To be fair, Grog can't read...
This is one of Grog's greatest moments, for sure.
