Lovely to see two Australians in the Chateau mix. Looking forward to seeing the restoration of this grand and breathtaking chateau. Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
thank you so much!
I just subscribed. A suggestion to better hear what you're saying is to eliminate the loud, distracting background music, especially when speaking inside with the echo in the high ceilings rooms . Looking forward to seeing your journey! Greetings from my Disneyland neighborhood here in Southern California!
I’m thinking the Echo comes from there’s no drapes hung yet in the windows when they get them hung then it will stop 🥰
Yes I agree!!!!but I'm super glad I came across this blog!
Stunning chateau lovely new owners please loose the music and echo perhaps a more sensitive microphone I'm subscribing from Hawaii aloha
Please speak slower so we can better understand your Aussie accents.
Love the challenge you've accepted! We will be watching.
What a beautiful amazing chateau well done!
You are pretty passionate restores and do a great job🥂
Beautiful and courageous people, vive l'Australie ! I like your style, you learn and speak french, you work to know our strange laws about listed buildings and you are saving one of our best magnificent monuments. Grand merci à vous et bravo !
I just stumbled on this video. What an enormous undertaking! I wish you the very best. From Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺
Love the seat you are both sitting on, by the looks this chair came with the sale of the property and you have revived it. Would be awesome to show us please the furniture that came with the property please. Love from a kiwi in NZ who is looking forward to following you, a dream I wished I could have done. Any rich single 66 plus yr old men out there lol xo
@Zartelle Rose I just subscribed! I agree on the gentlemen of a certain age interested in the Chateau life, please.
I think i am going to love the vlogging of Chateau De Purnon coming back to life over time.
I'm an architect and historic preservationist and your story about Purnon is exciting. I bought an 18th century townhouse in the south of France and will be relocating from the US early in 2023. I'm excited to follow your adventure. Cheers-
This project is immensely exciting and I look forward to the restoration. Thank you for taking the time to restore a gem of our collective history, and breathe life back into it again. Sending my love and admiration from Canada!
From one Melbournian to another I will enjoy watching your renovations, very exciting.
I am so glad I came across your vlog, I cant wait to take this journey with you and see everything as it unfolds x
Can't wait to see and hear more of this historic place...
Beautiful chateaux.looking forward to renovations.background music distracting
We've also just found you on UA-cam and we are fellow Aussies from Sydney. Looking forward to watching what we've missed and then journey with you. Good on you doing what alot of us would have liked to have done when we were younger.
I do agree though, that the background music is distracting while you are talking.
Wow, at last I have some Australians to follow along with on a chateau restoration. What a wonderfully articulate and interesting introduction can not wait to see lots more on your channel. Thanks for taking us on the journey.
What an adventure you are embarking on. Thank you for sharing with us. From Brisbane Australia.
Fellow Aussie here. 🇦🇺 I'm looking forward to going on the journey with you from afar. It's been a long standing dream of mine also. Just a quick question, did either of you speak French before buying the Chateau?
Dear Tim and Felicity, in the politest way could I suggest maybe toning down the back ground music please. Really interested in what you have to say but the music is a bit over powering and distracting from what youre saying. Love the project and the chateau is beautiful. Can totally see what you see in it. Best wishes for continued success with the project.
Yes more videos of discoveries and more room tours. What a gorgeous chateau. Greetings from 🇨🇦
Finding it hard to understand with the loud music. Wonderful project, only a NON French person would take this one and thank god for them !
Oh My I cant tell you how excited I was listening to your life's journey I am Australian and came from Melbourne which was my birth home . I have watched a couple of your videos but was in awe of hearing that you are an Aussie .I have watched hundreds of chateau restorations and thrilled to see Aussies making France your home . I saw the chateau before you bought a few years ago .What an adventure what a thrilling experience for you both I wish you the best for your futures such a lovely young couple. I will be waiting in anticipation for your videos .
I think he's very reserved privately - he was a minister in Australia until 2013
Good luck with your project...Proud two see such a lovely couple sharing their love of the chateaux.
Lovely. Such a special place. Easy to see why you fell in love. Looking forward to seeing the rooms, the history and all your little discoveries.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and wishing you luck, patience and enjoyment of your beautiful chateau as you begin your journey ! From Myrtle Beach SC💙
Fantastic intro. Can’t wait to see more of your adventures.
Hello from Brisbane. What an adventure - love it. I find it interesting that you have to follow such strict guidelines with regard to restoration even though the French government aren't prepared ( can't afford) to restore these fabulous historical buildings !!!!
As others have said, no music. We're grownups here. We don't need music with everything. 😇 Bless y'all for this undertaking.
I look forward to your progress with bringing this gorgeous property back to glory. (I agree with a previous comment about the background music. Although, I could hear you fine)
I agree however that person may have a slight hearing problem. I could easily hear what they said🌺
Just discovered your channel. I’m completely speechless by the beauty of your chateau. So excited to tag along on your amazing journey.
Hello fellow Melbournians :D Your video came up in my feed as I love watching chateau restorations and I'm so glad it did. What a glorious building!! And the grounds are stunning too! That tree-lined strip is beautiful - so much potential. Looking forward to seeing how things progress in the weeks and months ahead :)
OMG! What an adventure. A fellow Melbournian, I just happened upon this episode on You Tube. I am so excited for you and can’t wait to see your journey. What a stunning property! SUBSCRIBED, with the bell ticked, and can’t wait to see more.
Well done you! Great to see some Aussies doing a beautiful job of preserving an incredible Chateau. Looking forward to seeing more progress in time
Cheering from PERTH WA.
Wow Aussies to boot. France is lucky to have you to restore its wonderful history.
I think this is one of the most beautiful chateau and grounds I have ever seen! Can't wait to see it slowly and steadily restored.
bonjour de France regarde le château de " Vaux le vicomte " !!!!! et ses jardins......
Love to see these old historic buildings being saved, to many of them have been left to rot or been torn down sadly. Can't wait to see more videos on what you guys are doing. keep up the good work and most of all enjoy it :-)
Nice to see fellow Aussie reaching for their dreams. Keep up the great work
Being a "Yank" but knowing our family's roots reached all the way back across the pond, makes me feel somehow that this beautiful place is somehow a special place even to me!
I wish I was a wealthy person who could go along the real estate trail and scoop up all those chateaus mentioned that are in such need of saving!
Bummer! 😔
Let me hasten to say how glad I am that at least this wonderful old place is in the right hands, apparently!
Will enjoy watching the progress -
even from the southern US! ❤❤❤
Thanks for your message. We're thrilled that you're following our journey!
I have been following y’all on Instagram and here on UA-cam. This particular video is quite well done with your process in choosing Purnon and your plans for it. It is a beautiful property and I look forward to watching the progress of restoration. ❤️😊
Where is Per o located?
Pernon is located in what part of France?
@@barbaralose8133 they are a little over 20 miles northwest of Poitiers, France. In the Poitou/Charentes region.
LOVELY vlog! I'm really looking forward to following your chateau journey!
Ex-pat Aussi here, (ex-Sydney), permanent resident Athens, Greece and so delighted to find Aussies taking on one of the loveliest chateaux in France. Congratulations and very best of luck! Can't wait to follow your adventure!
So exciting for you both, lovely couple and a dream come true, most people can only dream of doing this, much praise to you from England
thank you for your lovely message
That was amazingly interesting, I sure hope (but doubt) that they are helping out with the costs of restoring this damsel in distress, But just like the National Trust in the UK I won't be holding my breath, It is incredible that these places are the highest grade of listing, but it has been allowed to fall down for the past 20 years
Can’t wait to follow some fellow Aussies on your exciting journey, best wishes to you both, Yvonne from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia x
What an extraordinary journey you are both on. I too, have just by chance come across your vlog…l knew when those first words were spoken that you were both Aussies…like me! One of the most magnificent Chateaus I’ve seen on here! I have now found another two charming people to follow. Congratulations, well done.. looking forward to more. Greetings from Lake Macquarie N.S.W. Australia.
Well certainly a challenge for some but not for Aussies 🇦🇺 We wish you all the best and we will be here to see this fantastic journey of discovery and historic adventures, God Bless you both and be safe. 👍😇🇫🇷🙏🏰
Thank you - we're glad you've discovered our adventure.
So glad to have found you! Ex-Sydney resident of 16 years and then spent 25 years in North Dordogne/Charente area. Wow, what a massive project and well done to get so many people for the Patrimoine weekend. Bonne continuation !
I know what you thought... we have to spend it all and more 😄
Welcome to France. We have been here 21 years and have never looked back. You have taken on a huge project but you will never regret it.
Ah, you are living many of our dreams so thanks for taking us along.
Wishing you both the very best with this exciting adventure you have begun!
👏👏👏👏👏
Greetings from San Antonio Texas! I also just subscribed, I agree the background music with the echo in the room just makes it very difficult to hear your conversation. It just gave me a headache. Love your château can’t wait to see all your plans for restoring this old house.
thank you for your feedback and for following our journey
I very much enjoyed learning of your journey to the chateau.
Can't wait to see more. Absolutely beautiful. Please share all your treasure
I just started watching your site and really look forward to following your journey with you. Thank you so much for your compassion in preserving something so precious to the evolution of human history
Thank you for your message. We're thrilled that you've discovered our channel and are following our adventure!
I've been watching your videos one by one. I can't imagine how you are going to fund these efforts but I applaud you. Hopefully you can gather a lot of funds through the internet.
Now look, I have worked in Aussie and I know you are tough! Really tough. Little Aussie Battlers right? I am looking forward to following your travails and cheering you on. Good luck and chin up
Mike from mo. Us here, this is so exciting! The wife an I are so happy to see you excited and happy 😊 love the attitude!! We love old properties! Hang in there! Thoughts and prayers, mike and melissa t.
This couple are dedicated and have buckets full of passion and dollars to restore this Château. Thank you for your commitment 🥂
You might want to explore the Work Away program where you can request volunteers with the skills you need for room and board. A great way to get help and build relationships.
This has got to be the most massive undertaking of all thr Chateau reno channels! Very exiting to see your discoveries, your work and journey!
Please don't use background music whilst talking, it works for zero UA-camrs. Use of music for motages and droneshots is fine, but try something other than your intro music or it will get tiring. It's a great intro but alot of the YT music libraries asian "impression" of older European music is looped and really repetitious and also used across other channels. In the long haul, your video and audio quality will determine who follows your vlog faithfully or just hits subscribe but doesn't really follow.
There's an important difference.
You'll learn as you go along, but I'm sure tips on good audio equipment like microphones that muffle the echo and other handy tips will be freely shared if you reach out and ask any of the more seasoned Chateau vloggers. Afterall they've had the same issues.
I think there's good support and pepp between many of them who have become aquainted thanks to this platform and there's definately a massive wealth of experience and expertise amongst some so I think is your best shot at avoiding unnecessary newbie mistakes both in regards to your reno project, your videos and all sorts of problemsolving is to open for dialogue.
You may want to visit a few and talk to them about your project and get som valuable feedback even...
You are terribly courageous to take on such an enormous estate, I'll be routing for you and very exited to follow! ♥️
Thank you for taking the time to make such a lovely video.💖😊💖
