- Today me and my girlfriend Cat, go fishing in our tinny, we made it to north western Australia and we were gonna chase som Spanish mackerel. This is a real and uncut episode of the adrenaline and the excitement of hooking up to a Spanish Mackerel, Cat fights the Mackerel for a good 10 minutes and gets absolutely exhausted before she finally lands the fish! What a successful mission of catch and cook, we love to eat this fish and we were so stoked on bringing it back to land. We leave to go to Steves camp close to Coral bay where we go snorkelling in the Ningaloo reef for the first time, awesome experience. We then cook up the Spanish Mackerel into a Poké bowl, also our favourite meal right now. What an episode, we loved filming this and I kept it uncut while Cat reels in the big Spanish mackerel for you guys to actually feel like you were there fighting this fish with us. Really hope you enjoy this amazing experience with us, little catch and cook episode but more epic. Yea it was a fighter that’s for sure. I’m going to get one off those big soft rod bits that slide on the end off the rod for her. Gimble wouldn’t really work when sitting down. And it’s a bit hard to stand up in the tinny especially if it’s a bit sloppy. Thanks for the recommendation amd watching mate

Awesome fish. Torium is an awesome reel. Bit hard to use for a newbie to overheads, but once ya get the hang of them. Game changer. I use mine all the time for trolling, slow pitch jigging and bottom bashing here off Sydney..
Yes such a versatile reel and strong. We love ours.

In northern australia you can catch a lot of pelagic fish. Most of them with white flesh are very good eating but be sure to take all the red meat and blood lines but when you fillet When I say
white flesh that excludes tuna unless you are going to do something special with it
Yea mate we always blood and brain our fish then cut out the bloody line when filleting. And straight back into the fridge. Can taste the difference when fish has been looked after properly
