Nah both are good, just so different that they can't be compared. I like the simplicity of the combos in Street Fighter but I also love the endless combo possibilities in Tekken. In Tekken you can chain combos and continue until you fail or until you get the K.O in Street Fighter 4 the longer the combo the less damage it does. Both are good in their own way
Always been a fan of fighting games since I was a kid but I've always been a casual fan up until a few years ago. I had actually quit playing fighting games for quite a while when I just randomly decided to play kof 98 and 2002um as I never got to play much SNK games as a kid. I fell in love with them and it actually ended up rekindling my love for the fighting games genre as a whole. I started following the FGC and playing lots of my old classic favorites along with many new fighting games as well. Sadly KoF 15 didn't grab me the way I'd hoped it would. But this year I decided to really try and learn to play Tekken. I've tried many times in the past but I've always preferred 2D Fighters for the most part. But for some reason this time it just clicked and I've been having an absolute blast playing Tekken 7 online and going back and revisiting the entire franchise. It's to the point where I can honestly say imo. That Tekken has the best gameplay of any fighting game. There's something about learning the system and it's depth, bit by bit in real-time. It is so satisfying and rewarding.
This debate is way, way too subjective. Both games are different down to their very core gameplay. Sf is a 2d fighting game while Tekken is a 3d fighting game. You can't just compare the 2 games and call the other one better in every single aspect. Hell the fundamentals are already established to be different. Almost everything (down to the very blocking system) is different. A comparison between balancing would've been better. (I'd say both are equally balanced considering both game have had a history of good and bad balancing decisions from the devs) Honestly, SF vs KoF would've been a far more sensical and interesting topic. And for those who are saying "Bruv didn't akuma ruin your game? Lol" akuma didn't necessarily ruin the game, but rather the devs did. They simply gave akuma way too many privileges that made him busted on release. (He's still busted as of now but not as much as before) They've done the same mistakes on DLCs most notably Fahkumram and Leroy. The devs could've made akuma tame on release but again, they've mistakenly made him super busted.
