    Hello, I just want to ask if I can use the P9RA G7 to the same transmitter where I am using the P9RA G7E? I currently have the P9RA G7E and I am planning to purchase additional unit and the only available is the P9RA G7. Thanks in advance for the clarification.

    I am going to have to set these up for a band soon, but I don’t have the devices yet. I am a bit miffed by this setup. I’ll explain why. In the video it highlights clearly and well that setup is a 2 stage process.
    Stage 1 is setting up each transmitter to operate on the frequency you have scanned for on the receiver. You scan on the receiver, then hold it up to the transmitter and press sync.
    Stage 2 involves then assigning a receiver pack to a different transmitter, which makes sense of course. BUT from what I can see the process is identical. You hold the receiver up to a chosen transmitter and press sync. How does the transmitter know whether to “send” it’s frequency, which you want, or to again “receive” the frequency that the pack is on, which would mess up your setup? The only difference is not pressing “scan” on the pack first this time I assume? I don’t find it as intuitive as it could be. I know it might increase manufacturing costs, but maybe being able to actually press the sync button on the receiver pack would have been better, to more simply separate the process. On a busy gig I could see this being a bit of a potential for mess ups

      Hi James, immediately after scanning, the receiver beltpack is in a special mode that will sync the frequency from receiver to transmitter on the next sync. You can tell when it is in that mode when it flashes "Sync Now". After syncing in this direction, the level indicators will flash on the transmitter At all other times, the frequency will go from the transmitter to the receiver--and the level indicators won't flash after sync.

    The output antennas are on the back of the transmitter, but in this video the antennas are on the front. How do I get mine on the front, so I can have it in a rack?

      Every PSM system comes with a front mount antenna kit. Included are two adapters and cables to route the antenna signal from the back to the front.

    I have 13 ULX transmitters that will be in use at the same time as our six PSM 900 transmitters. I assume the ULX transmitters need to be turned on while the P9 receivers search for open frequencies? Thanks!

    If one wishes to connect the Shure SM268 mixer to a computer via USB for example, how would that be done? Perhaps it is better to get an X2U if trouble abounds.

    My group has a psm900 and are looking to buy a psm300 to have four separate mono mixes. Will the antenna from the psm300 interfere with the psm900 and cause issues or will they be blind to each other?

    I got a quick question. is it possible to connect two or more transmitters simultaneously to one receiver at the same time, or not?

    • @shure
      @shure  3 роки тому +1

      No, it is not. That would be like trying to tune in two radio stations on the same channel.

    Is there a limit to how many bodypacks can come off of a single transmitter? I'm new to wireless IEM systems. I don't quite understand. When would you need more than one transmitter if multiple bodypacks can pickup feed from a single transmitter? Is it an audio mix thing?

    • @shure
      @shure  2 роки тому +1

      There is no limit to how many PSM bodypack receivers you can sync with a transmitter, but the transmitter would only provide one mix. If you are working in a situation where you need multiple mixes, each separate mix would require its own unique transmit channel.

    ìs there a reason you want all of them to be in the same group?

      Shure wireless products have preset Groups and Channels - each Group is a set of Channels that are compatible with each other with regard to the spacing between frequencies.
      A particular Group might maximize frequencies to use in a known unoccupied TV channel, or it may help to avoid an active TV broadcast on a different channel.
      Software such as Wireless Workbench also can calculate frequency compatibility, but the preset Groups are an easy way to coordinate frequencies directly on the wireless components.
      If you are mixing different frequency ranges (PSM900 in G6 and G7, for example), wireless units from different Shure product lines (such as PSM900 and ULXD), or incorporating wireless systems from other manufacturers, frequency Groups no longer will assure compatibility. In this case, use Wireless Workbench or contact Shure’s Applications team for guidance.

    I have a chance to buy 4 of these units however the Freq range is 600 to 692 and the FCC has mentioned discontinuing the use of these freq in 2016 any comments or anything i can grasp here. i am getting a screaming good deal i just don't want to run into any problems please explain what my options are and if this is a good buy thank you

      It's really at your own risk, assuming the gear may be unusable in 3-4 years. It's certain at least some of the 600MHz band is going away in the next 3-4 years. Exactly how much spectrum is TBD, but Shure has already stopped selling 600MHz in the US in most cases.

      Deadsie The frequencies which were sold off for next generation cellular wireless are 614-698 Mega Hertz. So you can use the 600-608 Mega Hertz frequency range on those Shure PSM900 IEM systems which transmit in the 600-692 range.

    hey i dont get why i would need multiple transmitters... why not use one transmitter with multiple receivers, and how many receivers can i sync with one psm900?

    • @shure
      @shure  8 років тому

      Only 1 transmitter is required when only 1 stereo mix or 2 mono mixes are required. However if you need more than those number of mixes, additional transmitters are required. With respect to how many receivers you can sync to one transmitter, the answer is ‘as many as you need’. There is no limit to how many receivers can be sync’d to 1 transmitter.
