My grail doll was ken king of the crystal cave. I waited and waited for him and finally got him for $50 so worth it l. That is the most I ever spent on a doll and never regretted it.
I think this was definitely really helpful, I’m slowly collecting older discontinued dolls from series I like and I think this kind of budgeting way and examples is useful to think about before buying out of impulses
Yes! It’s much easier to say no to a “dream” doll at a high price when you’re strict about the highest price you’ll pay from day one! It’s helped me INFINITELY

Guys! Her tips REALLY WORK!! I've been watching for three years or so and have used some of them (when applicable) myself!! Sorting on eBay by "Newly Listed" and being patient like she advises is SO HELPFUL. It's because I used those tips and was patient that I was able to finally get the Deluxe "Elena of Avalor" doll set from Disney Store for RETAIL PRICE after over a year of looking. It's a set that's notoriously hard to track down because of how quickly Disney gave up on EoA merch and always has jacked up prices, not to mention people trying to sell of the male dolls (which ONLY came in this set) for $50/each. But I did what she said and waited and waited and trolled around and eventually found it! Misspellings and bland descriptions really are such a thing too! I went looking and looking for this Disney Store "Sofia the First" wardrobe set that must have been poorly distributed (probably released at the end of the show's run) because it's so hard to find (especially at a decent price) and I eventually found it on Mercari at a good price because the person had spelled her name "Sophia" and instead of "Deluxe Wardrobe Set" had listed it under "Dress Playset" or something. Like... SCORE! I did pay a little over retail, but I was okay with that for myself and now I have a set that I really wanted! (Now if I just had time to open it and dress her up. XD)
I was the one asking about it in the comments of the my scene video! I’ve been lurking in the shadows and watching your content for the past 2 years. This was really helpful especially for people that are just starting out. I sold my childhood winx club collection when I was younger and I do deeply regret it. I try not to beat myself over it though. It’s taken me a few years to decide on collecting again. I’ve recently started up my own collection (again) with the only two childhood dolls I have left - bloom enchantix pixie magic Mattel and Stella charming Mattel. I find your videos just magical and your passion for dolls really translates on camera. Keep going and keep inspiring people - I know for a fact you did inspire me! Thank you

Unfortunately I don't have that situation figured out well myself. If you haven't checked out the channel "A Thousand Splendid Dolls"- her displays and organizations are so well thought out and her videos are very helpful when you're trying to figure out what to do with all the accessories and stuff :) She also extensively goes into restoration and preservation!

The doll I regret not buying is Animator Doll Malificent. She is sooo stinking cute and now she is at least 250 dollars. I don't want to spend that much on something that retailed for 50 dollars I believe. I hope she is released someday if not I always comfort myself with " there will always be another cuter doll". If I were to buy everything that I want I would be in big trouble. You have to put limits on yourself, I think this video was pretty much saying that. I also loved the tip about how to search with certain keywords to find the best deal. Thankyou for sharing!
So I don't wanna brag but I managed to get the whole Winx S3 School Girl Dolls for like under 10 euros each COMPLETE. All that was under 10 Months. At first I was sceptical, but your "tactics" of collecting really helped me save up with money and grow my collection even faster! PATIENCE ist the key.
Go ahead and brag that's amazing!!! There's thousands if not millions of these dolls all over the world and there's only 100-1000 collectors :) There's more than enough for everyone if you're patient and know where to look. You did amazing getting them all so quickly!!
This very helpful. I’m starting to get into winx and the dolls, specifically Jakks, and I’m having so much trouble finding nice ones for good prices. The real problem is getting them with wings because the jakks wings are a cool important part of the doll because they “flutter”
what do you think is an appropriate price for a winx enchantix musa doll? i can't seem to find her under 300€ like ever and that's the price all the people want on thrift apps
Idk if I am late but, I personally would say that THAT Musa is not really wort anything over 100 Euros Complete. I don't know what you budget is but don't give in to these Prices. If you keep buying the 300€ dolls, the price will just keep going up. I hope I could help🤗

have u tried looking arround in taobao?? its kinda hard to get dolls shipped but i saw alot of inbox bratz for retail prices (between 20$-40$) (and bratz boyz were like 9$ out of the box tho) and ive seen people buying myscene and winx dolls even miss Barbara M. Roberts ANYWAYS thats a good way to build up a collection ahah Also aliexpress has inbox bratz too (but not that diverse in terms of dolls its always the same 12 in every aliexpress shop AHAHHA)
Yes :) I loooove Taobao! I used to have a video explaining how to do it in the US but they've started blocking US IP's so I'd have to really try hard to make a video like that happen. I miss shopping on there for Winx so much!
Hi Brooke love all the tips, I peronaly buy my dolls at retail cost like American girl doll girl of the year,histocal extra then the most I've payed for. a retired GOTY was Lindsey 2001 I payed around $220ish because she had her complete outfit and her breathe was in amazing shape. Then for other dolls like retired histocals who I don't have I pay the price they were orginaly. I've only gotten 2nd hand eBay dolls the past 5-6 years but have been looking for the Lindsey doll sense I found out she excited when I was little. Then for rainbow high I've bought my frist doll Kia for $62 plus tax and shipping so $73 because I was late on the Rainbow high train and just got into them the last couple of weeks but been wanting them sense around Christmas time 2020. I've spent $26.88 and then $50 at Walmart for karma,skyler,Stella and Avery then I ordered the rest of Rainbow high dolls for $20.24 each a few days ago expect for sunny I payed $33 for her but that's the price I would have payed for her anyways because that would be tax. So I'm excited I wanted to get the rest of the Rainbow high dolls on Amazon for a great deal. I don't really buy 2nd hand dolls too offen because I manly buy then at retail cost manly because I have chronic illness and a weak and little to no immone system so it gives me and my parents peice of mind that the dolls are new in box and not used. When I do get a used doll I have a lot of lists I have to cross off and douple check before getting her smoke free home,pet free now that's one that doesn't matter because we have dogs but everything else along with the conduction of the used doll and the doll having her complete outfit or not. Then figuring out how much I want to pay for the doll which for me is no more then what the doll was at the time when she was out in stores. Then I've gotten a few dolls at the thrift store they were used in box in amazing beautiful conduction I was so excited. Then for me I have saved my money for a long time or wait to get the doll for Christmas or buy the doll with my birthday money. But within the last couple of years I've used the ibotta cashback rebate app to buy dolls that I want and dp it by myself not using any of my own money. I've gotten back around $200-$300 by the end of the year and use it tourds Christmas and for any dolls I might want if theirs any left over.
I’m not sure how old you are but I’m 28 and starting to collect dolls again for my sanity. Right before my parents divorce my dad gave away ALL of my stuffed animals and toys without asking. I was 10 years old :( he said they’re pointless waste of space and for my entire childhood I always wanted toys that other kids had but never got any. It’s hard telling myself that they aren’t a waste of money. They bring me so much happiness. I was very attached to my toys growing up and I also lined them up like you! Lol I’m looking forward to the special dolls and things in my future.

I’m hoping to secure a TA position but for the time being I’m just working service. The minimum wage here is surprisingly high and Brett and I are lucky to be paying a very low rent price for our home now. It’s really tough to budget a lot or save because good deals are fairly common and so, so satisfying to take home! I really struggle with it
Only have like 56 dolls and big thing for me is space and display...I don't have room for display and all my signature EAH dolls are in box and plus I love EAH box the og I love box art I love little details that's main reason why I keep them in box and keep the boxs

Thankyou for this video, we often don't dare talk about money. Personally i've recouped my entire collection through customizing and only spending doll earnings on doll stuff but that's not always do-able and a hobby allowance works better. There's 13 years and $2000 of dolls in my collection, worth so much more that if I sold them now restored and correctly labelled. It seems like a lot until you imagine someone's cosmetics, games or watch collection. It's about allowing yourself what is socially acceptable if it were a different hobby and not 'kids' stuff.

Some things that she didn't mention but. Can help you as a collector are 1 "stalking". That item you want at the store or on ebay etc until it's. On clearance or goes down for a more reasonable price. 2 When you have some free time check. Discount stores like Tuesday Morning, Marshalls etc because. You can always find dolls/toys for less than retail. Also Tuesday morning specifically has some dolls that are. Collector editions or online exclusives there for good prices. For example some people have found collector barbies at Tuesday morning. That are generally online exclusives that are expensive. For half of retail price or more. How is the average amount you spend per doll only 10 dollars? That means that a huge portion of them would have to be under 10 dollars, and you said that you generally spend 30 to 60 depending on the condition? I'm confused.
Thrifting and buying lots. Brand new dolls in stores are $20 each but the bulk of my collection at this time was bought used. I think the average would be closer to $15 back then? My current average per doll is around $20 each but there’s huuuuge outliers haha
30-60 I believe was referring to when I buy new in box older dolls online, not the standard. When you get like 30 bratz dolls for $100 and buy a bull of your dolls thrifting for $1-$4 each, your averages stay pretty low

Hi Brooke love all the tips, I peronaly buy my dolls at retail cost like American girl doll girl of the year,histocal extra then the most I've payed for. a retired GOTY was Lindsey 2001 I payed around $220ish because she had her complete outfit and her breathe was in amazing shape. Then for other dolls like retired histocals who I don't have I pay the price they were orginaly. I've only gotten 2nd hand eBay dolls the past 5-6 years but have been looking for the Lindsey doll sense I found out she excited when I was little. Then for rainbow high I've bought my frist doll Kia for $62 plus tax and shipping so $73 because I was late on the Rainbow high train and just got into them the last couple of weeks but been wanting them sense around Christmas time 2020. I've spent $26.88 and then $50 at Walmart for karma,skyler,Stella and Avery then I ordered the rest of Rainbow high dolls for $20.24 each a few days ago expect for sunny I payed $33 for her but that's the price I would have payed for her anyways because that would be tax. So I'm excited I wanted to get the rest of the Rainbow high dolls on Amazon for a great deal. I don't really buy 2nd hand dolls too offen because I manly buy then at retail cost manly because I have chronic illness and a weak and little to no immone system so it gives me and my parents peice of mind that the dolls are new in box and not used. When I do get a used doll I have a lot of lists I have to cross off and douple check before getting her smoke free home,pet free now that's one that doesn't matter because we have dogs but everything else along with the conduction of the used doll and the doll having her complete outfit or not. Then figuring out how much I want to pay for the doll which for me is no more then what the doll was at the time when she was out in stores. Then I've gotten a few dolls at the thrift store they were used in box in amazing beautiful conduction I was so excited. Then for me I have saved my money for a long time or wait to get the doll for Christmas or buy the doll with my birthday money. But within the last couple of years I've used the ibotta cashback rebate app to buy dolls that I want and dp it by myself not using any of my own money. I've gotten back around $200-$300 by the end of the year and use it tourds Christmas and for any dolls I might want if theirs any left over.
I’m not sure how old you are but I’m 28 and starting to collect dolls again for my sanity. Right before my parents divorce my dad gave away ALL of my stuffed animals and toys without asking. I was 10 years old :( he said they’re pointless waste of space and for my entire childhood I always wanted toys that other kids had but never got any. It’s hard telling myself that they aren’t a waste of money. They bring me so much happiness. I was very attached to my toys growing up and I also lined them up like you! Lol I’m looking forward to the special dolls and things in my future.
You have completely told my story every word and thanks for sharing because I thought it was so weird that I could just Stare and look at my collection and it gives me peace and makes me so happy
For me it's a lack of space 😿 115 and I like to see them all 😁
That was a big issue for me until... well just now! Now 80% of my collection is currently on display and it makes me so happy! I liked to gather them looking forward to the day that I could display them all proudly. It was ROUGH though

I was curious as to what your profession is. I work for the postal service but I totally waste way too much on dolls. Also there are so many more bills than rent here.. yet I keep buying.

I’m a paleontologist but because I moved away to pursue a higher degree, I live in a small town with no jobs. I’m hoping to secure a TA position but for the time being I’m just working service. The minimum wage here is surprisingly high and Brett and I are lucky to be paying a very low rent price for our home now.
It’s really tough to budget a lot or save because good deals are fairly common and so, so satisfying to take home! I really struggle with it

Only have like 56 dolls and big thing for me is space and display...I don't have room for display and all my signature EAH dolls are in box and plus I love EAH box the og I love box art I love little details that's main reason why I keep them in box and keep the boxs

Thankyou for this video, we often don't dare talk about money. Personally i've recouped my entire collection through customizing and only spending doll earnings on doll stuff but that's not always do-able and a hobby allowance works better. There's 13 years and $2000 of dolls in my collection, worth so much more that if I sold them now restored and correctly labelled. It seems like a lot until you imagine someone's cosmetics, games or watch collection. It's about allowing yourself what is socially acceptable if it were a different hobby and not 'kids' stuff.

Some things that she didn't mention but. Can help you as a collector are 1 "stalking". That item you want at the store or on ebay etc until it's. On clearance or goes down for a more reasonable price. 2 When you have some free time check. Discount stores like Tuesday Morning, Marshalls etc because. You can always find dolls/toys for less than retail. Also Tuesday morning specifically has some dolls that are. Collector editions or online exclusives there for good prices. For example some people have found collector barbies at Tuesday morning. That are generally online exclusives that are expensive. For half of retail price or more. The way I like to collect my OMGS is that yes although I want each and everyone I don’t have the budget for it so for each line I grab the top one or two from that series and then move on

How is the average amount you spend per doll only 10 dollars? That means that a huge portion of them would have to be under 10 dollars, and you said that you generally spend 30 to 60 depending on the condition? I'm confused.
Thrifting and buying lots. Brand new dolls in stores are $20 each but the bulk of my collection at this time was bought used. I think the average would be closer to $15 back then?
My current average per doll is around $20 each but there’s huuuuge outliers haha
30-60 I believe was referring to when I buy new in box older dolls online, not the standard. When you get like 30 bratz dolls for $100 and buy a bull of your dolls thrifting for $1-$4 each, your averages stay pretty low
