Probably the best song on the album. If I had one wish: more stuff like Seen, Mustang, Nothing to Do, Ease Me On for the next record! And less effects/electric drums etc., focus on more real instruments and strip down the whole songs, then they become bangers like Seen. Overall it’s a decent record and these songs sound so much better live. Not to forget, thanks Jordan!
You’ve hit the nail on the head, in the radio X interview Caleb said Seen’s lyrics just flowed straight out of his mouth. I’d bet anything that it took the least amount of time to record/write and it ends up being the best on the album. Too many people have said the albums overproduced and they aren’t wrong. That’s why the live versions are so much better, even split screen for example sounds 10x better here just from Matts guitar it’s so nice, distorted and raw. Need the next album raw with minimal effects
@@JordanRussKOL Exactly, also when they released the first countdown snippets of the new album, I thought these are from more than one song. It turned out that these were mostly from »Nowhere to run«, which is a great song but it feels like that there are almost three song ideas in one, which sometimes is just too much.
@@JordanRussKOL mate split screen sounds absolute epic live. Defo an over produced album. I just feel like so many songs sound the same. I wish they just brought out mustang. The. Dropped the album so nothing to do and split screen were in with new songs if that makes sense. Looking forward to Hyde park and Glasgow in a few months tho
🎉👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Kings of Leon, the boom that the band had a few years ago has returned, this is incredible. They give the feeling of being reborn. This song is good, it shows a booth that has not been seen as taking a step forward.
Might have been the first time in my life that I was thinking at the end “Caleb can you please shut up for a sec, I want to listen to the melody”. What a banger this song is, unbelievable
The original stream output was mixed with way more bright, high frequencies & the lows cut off. Here, it's been re-touched +balanced in a fashion similar to the one on the album: bass more present.
Agreed. The live versions sound much better. The album ones sound squashed, muddy, lacking energy and the instruments are too busy. Everyone fighting each other to be heard with no weight behind them. Caleb’s vocals even sound competing at some parts. Weird chorus effects on his vocals etc. Really didn’t like the way it was mixed. It made me think I didn’t like the songs until I heard some of them live.
@@nickcds3419 I was trying to listen to it again to see what exactly felt “off” about it and basically it feels like the instruments have no space of their own. They all sound squashed, depthless, EQ’d weird and one-dimensional. Especially Matt’s guitar parts, which is a shame cause I love listening to Matt’s guitar. His guitar on Split Screen sounds like it has been recorded through a phone rather than an amp, it’s nothing like the live version. On the live version, it’s louder, fuller and more present. Unfortunately, it’s the same with all the instruments, they’ve had a lot of frequencies taken away and their energy along with it, to the point everything sounds like a flat, compressed, low-definition mess with no clarity. I can’t remember which song it is, but there’s a song where Caleb’s vocals are almost completely drowned out in the chorus and everything sounds distorted. You can clearly hear compression working too hard in a lot of parts that give that dreaded “pumping” effect that amateur mixes have. There are parts of the album that do sound good but that just reinforces how badly it’s mixed since albums are supposed to be consistent throughout. Even the songs aren’t consistent from start to finish. Makes you wonder if there was any quality control. Was it just a bunch of yes-men too afraid to say to the producer it sounded bad? I’ve still bought tickets to see them in July and don’t think it’s the bands fault the album sounds bad. The songs are growing on me, I just hope they perform most of them live so I don’t need to listen to the album versions haha.
4,400 views? That’s a crime against music. This is one of the the best songs of the year. Great performance!
Totally giving "The Flys - Got you where I want you" vibes and I'm here for it all. Can't wait to see this live.
Best song of the entire set by a mile, unreal live

Anymore remastered coming from the new ones? This sounds great

This is an absolute belter of a tune 🎉

Where’s the full video gone bro? 😢
What do they mean by remastered?

This is like Trani after the band has matured
I literally thought the same thing!
So much better live. More proof the producer killed this album and not in a good way.
That's a hot take. I reckon the production is fantastic

@@barrypaterson4617 couldn’t have explained it better myself. Great songs ruined by the production.
