  • Homesteading and farming are difficult. It is easy to get overwhelmed and feel like quitting, but most of the time a little perseverance is all you need to turn the corner. I hope some of the challenges I share inspire you to keep goinig.

    This video made me smile.
It reminded me of the WB Looney Tunes cartoon, Foghorn Leghorn. Foghorn, the roster, thinks the little chicken-hawk is a little chicken-chick.
Back in the days when both kids and adults could watch the same cartoon.
The kids did not know what was really going on yet, but the adults were out fighting the hawks, coyote's, ETC.
If you have ever had chickens killed, you can relate.
I am not laughing at you Jake, I am laughing with you.🤣😂😁
BTW, Leghorn chickens are a good chicken breed for eggs. They do not eat much, for how many eggs they produce.
These animals have been bread for thousands of years to do a job. Some can survive in the wild, but they do not do well and most just die.
Example: Donkeys' do not do well in the Eastern States of the U.S. Their is to much food for them to eat on the East Coast and it makes them sick. But they do great in the dry West and in deserts. All because humans and donkeys have worked together for a very long time to do a job in a dry climate.
After hogs have been treated like kings and queens, by my hard work. I do not feel bad at all, when it is bacon time. 🥓🍔
I thank them for their service by "using all of the buffalo" as they.
Thanks for the smile Jake. 😁

I say, I say, Foghorn Leghorn always cracked me up. I have not considered leghorns yet, but I might have to do that now.
Thanks for the inspiration and for laughing with me! 😀

Good morning Jake got to keep a positive thoughts on everything. You can't get discouraged. Living off grid homestead it's not an easy life. Takes a lot of hard work and persistence. At the end of the day it's about you and your family. From watching your videos seems like you got a very good plan keep with it and don't let the setbacks get to you and discourage you. Step back reassess the situation and then attack it again

      100%! Thanks man!
In the beginning we were pretty clueless, but after getting into the mess of things we were able to get some real plans together. Plans might change, but at this point I don’t think I could stop. 😀

@@farmasaurus I used to live homestead of great hair in New Jersey years ago. The biggest thing is is getting your inner structure going pretty good. And then you learn from whats and doesn't work. And keep a journal on it. And we're about to move up in Maine and my wife's never lived off. Before so she's got a lot of concerns. I'm making it or failing. And I told her you just got to keep moving forward and pushing forward

@@timothyalanogrady we have always been grid connected, but living off grid or at least energy independent is the goal. One day.
Good luck in Maine! Sounds like an adventure!
