With the Senellier, use your cheaper pastels underneath them, then your Senellier on top. That way you won’t be afraid to use them.

Thankfully you got the right oil,pastel from Caran D’ache, as. A lot of people think the neocolor1 are the oil pastels and they are not. CD should make it simpler to understand.
Hopefully, they will explain it more in the future.

I feel the same way... I keep coming back to the gallery ones.
The Gallery pastel sticks are twice the size and weight of the Caran D' Ach sticks too. Also, one of the best things about the gallerys is that the wrappers on each stick are made of a strong aluminium foil material. Wrapped very tightly, they won't budge. As long as those wrappers are kept on, the pastels will never break. No other pastels have that. The ones in her video are "Hashi Gallery" they are the same company as the "Mungyo Gallery" in the dark blue box. Identical sets. just FYI. 🙂 Thanks for the video. They are both great, but Neopastels you can buy open stock, the others are not available, so when you run out of a color you would need to either, do without, buy a whole new set, for just one color, or get a matching color from a different brand... like the Neopastels for instance. So at the end you'll end up with multiple Gallery sets, or one by one, upgrading sticks when u run out, you'll have a different brand. 😅
I have them both and some Sennelier for the final layers, but if the Gallery start selling open stock, I would give up the Neopastels. The Mungyo Gallery Artist's Soft Oil Pastels are sooooooo good! 🥰

Would you think it a good idea to replace the white gallery pastel with a white neopastel. Are they similar enough? My white gallery pastel is finished and I cant find them in open stock here in Europe. It would be silly to buy a whole new set just for one color.
I would say try the neopastel one - the neopastel is a little bit harder than the gallery brand, but definitely don't buy a whole set for just one color.
You've got me super interested in oil pastels now!! Do you work with Amazon and have a link I can use to pick up a set and you'd get a commission? If not, would you happen to have a link to your gallery ones? I've looked but the ones i find look the same except completely different boxes. They also have professional and then premium which is double the price than professional. Any idea what the difference is with that? You are such a genuinely sweet person, i enjoy watching you and hearing your positivity through your voice. And no worries about the sounds, dogs bark, birds chirp, artists art! Thanks again so much
