There are 2 things for people (drivers in Oz in particular) watching this to consider. It is considerate, polite and safer for everyone (although not compulsory in NSW in an 80km/h or less zone - unless signposted otherwise - but why not always be considerate, polite and safer) when driving on a multi-lane road to move into (and stay in) the left lane when you are not actually overtaking. Also, when approaching red traffic lights and you will be at the head of the queue, you should bring your vehicle up to the stop line (i.e. you should not stop well short of the line as was done several times in this video), so that the in-road detector loops for the lights will detect your vehicle and start the process to change the lights in your favour, so you don’t have to wait as long.

Thank you for your detailed comment. To be honest, I didn’t know about the detector loops. I’ll take your feedback, thank you for watching and taking the time to type out your comment, really appreciate it. Cheers, Jay

@@JayStrides The detector loops often can be seen when they have been installed (or re-installed) after the latest road surface layer has been laid down. You will see for each lane just short of the stop line 1 or 2 “boxes” or “lines” drawn on the road surface, with extension lines leading off to the side of the road in the direction of one of those control cabinets on the side of the road somewhere near the lights. Sometimes however the top road surface layer will have been laid over the top of the loops so the loops will now be invisible. The loops are a vital part of SCATS (Sydney Co-ordinated Automated Traffic Signals I think), the automatic co-ordination system for multiple sets of traffic lights.
