Lived in the Alice throughout the 80's and 90's and have been back a couple of times since and love the way you present your videos! Not aiming to be an epic movie while not being amateurish either, just the right balance. Well done, keep up the great work.
Thank you Shane, glad you liked the videos. I love visiting Alice Springs and the country around it is very stunning but it would be too hot for me in the summer period to allow me to live there.
Glad you enjoyed it, one of those thing being able to get to some places at the right time. You have to be ready to go before the event happens or it is too far to get there.
Wow ! So green. Many moons ago I did travel the same track on the dirt 2up. Gosh, we had some adventures, disappointments and adventures..lol. And stopped for several hours to assist the unfortunate with some sort of dilemma. Way back then the black top was an election promise..LOL again. Anyways, I have super memories and cherish them as long as I can. And you and your offsider rekindle them, so big thanks mate.
Those grader and trailer setups are a bit of a surprise to the uninitiated. When I was working at Jabiru in the early 80's I'd often see them around the Winnellie/Berrimah area heading in or out of town. As you said, some of them are quite long and are obviously going bush for an extended period. Some of the ones I saw, in addition to the grader and a couple of trailers with fuel and a wheel less caravan mounted on them also had an A framed Hi Lux ute bringing up the rear. I'm really enjoying this series of videos, Mick, keep up the good work.
Thanks David, glad you are liking the videos. The grader set ups would be out of time if they had to tow each item as an individual trip.Good on them for the work they do and how they do that work.

The inside of the cab can be seen in my 3 1/2 Days in a Road Train video. As far as the meals go I will give that one a miss for now as we are all different with how and what we eat. In saying that I take all my own meals running two fridges, one as a fridge and the other as a freezer. For meal heating I use a 12 volt oven. I dunno if it's the editing, but being from the congested northeast of the US, I'm struck by the lack of traffic on your legs.
Most of the time there is not a lot of traffic. Because I film in clips, I tend to do it when the traffic is at a minimal. This may at times give a false impression.
Love the road train videos mick, how many km did the long way round end up being.
Thanks Craig, glad you like the video. The long way around put an extra 1,300km onto the trip.

Unfortunately we are not permitted to film in the delivery points that we deliver to.
After such a long driving assignment, do you do a quick turn around and begin another delivery/pickup, or are the specific rules regarding driving hours and resting hours?
We have very strict rules regarding driving and work hours that we must follow.
Great videos Mick. Love your rig...... what distance do you need to stop from 100ks fully loaded with 3 trailers? That Mack seems to accelerate well!

600hp Cummins with an 18 speed box.
G`day Mick, How long has Dingo Hill stop been there?
Sorry Bob, that I do not know.
What do you usually do on your 24 hour break ?
Not very much, clean the truck and catch as much sleep as possible.
Are you from New Zealand?
Interesting question, no, born and bred in Australia.
How many whitches hats did you take out
Not a one luckily.
With the manual gearboxes, while pulling triple trailers, do you float the gears or double clutch?
I prefer to use the clutch when shifting down but do not use it when shifting up. It all depends on the terrain and situation at the time.

We refuel form our own fuel outlets in each depot. Each fill is around the 1,100 litres.
did i hear you say 7000 km forth and back on this trip???
Yes
Now the big question, i wonder how much you got paid for this run? planning to get my MC license as well.
Some questions should ever be asked
Whats the story with the police. I never seen to see them on these videos.
What story, do the right thing and you are ok.
If you would put map of austrailia next to each town you go through, showing the distances you traveling
So much that can be done.
What do you transport?
Parcel freight and anything else that will fit onto a 40 foot trailer.
