In high school, one of my biggest goals was to run a mile in under 5 minutes. I realized that going to practice every day was not enough. I had to put in a ton of hours into researching training strategies, racing strategies, nutrition, and most of all, mental toughness. I then I actually had to apply those concepts in addition to whatever my coach was telling me to do. I failed 3 times before I finally ran a 4:57. The lesson is that what you think is enough may not be enough. You have to give it all you got because there are no guarantees.

I got my PhD and I became a world champion in my hobby. Simultaneously. I did both simply by doing the next task and keeping perspective on the end goal and how it would feel to achieve it.

Great video. The true reason why people do not accomplish their goals is because they do not have a good daily plan/routine that they are deeply committed to. Either they get busy with life or just simply lazy/tired to complete their daily tasks. As the days, weeks, months and years go by very quickly, you must make progress on as many high priority tasks as possible. The distractions, especially with the internet are sometime unsurmountable. The only solution is to get people in your life as either employees or contractors to help you achieve your goals. After unsuccessfully failing to be productive on your own you must be honest with yourself and admit you need help. Get the support you need, no matter how expensive it may be.

Something that helps me is setting annual goals, breaking it down to monthly, then to weekly, then daily. Its intersting that that harvard student talked about an element of luck involved with his admission, I think its quite valid that working hard enough will get you the luck you deserve.
And kudos for bringing on experts on your videos Will. Great job man.

I wrote a book to help families who have children with autism. Very difficult process but was motivated by the families who would find it helpful.

If you have not realized yet. That's the whole point of this channel. Sell their product. I stumbled across this channel and been randomly going through the videos. The product is YOU and people who fall for this "I quit, I regret.........." videos. People have been doing this for a very long time and selling stuff to the masses have been the biggest thing since ages. Stop falling for stuff like this.

Make good connections in the workforce. Always be polite & kind because u should be a good human being but also people & colleagues will always remember you. Be careful with what battles you pick at home, with a partner & at work.

To the lady who wrote a book, any negative reviews aren’t about you. They are reviews they’re writing about themselves for not following through with their dream of writing. They think they can do it better but are afraid to release their book into the world, or haven’t even sit down to write it. Go write books! ❤🎉

After yrs at it of a certain thing... you'd think to yourself ... why isn't this working in a big way.... even after the tweaks... still isn't what you thought... in your mind... There does come to a certain level that you take a leap of faith in a newer field.. and boom... it surprises you. Is that determination , is that good timing... is that... right time right place... mmmm... we gotta ask ourselves.. how much in control of our path are we...
