ahhh i’m so happy i’ve found your page. moving to the uk has always been my dream and i’ve been researching it for years so i can move to the uk as soon as possible!! i loved this video so much, also by the way you’re so pretty!!
ahh so happy to have found your channel! i though i'd be the only one moving there right now on a yms visa but I'm glad to see that there are other ppl doing it too rnow! :-)
Love this! I also just moved to London on a Tier 5 from Canada and have been vlogging about it!! Love your story telling and looking forward to following your journey, just subbed 🤗
Hey Monica, I've stumbled upon your video and I'm glad I did! I'm from Montreal Canada and I'm planning to do a similar move to London this coming fall. This is super inspiring, just subscribed :)
I created a more detailed video about the things you need to do before and after moving to London if you're thinking about making the move! Check it out here 🤗: ua-cam.com/video/fgikG9TOj68/v-deo.html&
Hi Monica! Did you already have a job set up in London before moving there? If no, how easy was it for you to find a job there? I'd like to do the same thing, but I'm scared of not being able to find a job there.. do you think I should do the student visa or this route if I want to stay in the UK.
@@cloudsurfer73I am in the process now. From my research you can apply to jobs once your visa is accepted and give them proof that you will not need sponsorship, if required. From my research and close friends that have done the same, I would say start applying for jobs 6-3months before, the job market is quite competitive in London, especially if you want a 9-5 that isn’t a retail or customer service job.
Wow I didn’t even realize that it was that easy thanks for making this video! I have always wanted to move to the UK 🇬🇧 and I finally am wanting to do it this year. And I’m thankful for my experience in Canada 🇨🇦 but I want to officially move this year and wasn’t sure what it would look like during the pandemic. What’s the website you used to apply for the tier 5 visa ?
I haven't hear back from you via email. It's about I want to suggest that you add the closed captions or/and transcripts to your videos. It’d be a lot helpful for me and audience with a deafness, hard of hearing, and foreign languages. Thank you.
It’s the bank account not the debit card that’s involved, money laundering and identity theft precautions and regulations, you can still use your Canadian debit card for everyday use.
@@MonicaXGuan As a newcomer to the UK you don't have any history here, which is why banks were reluctant to open an account for you. It might be worth establishing a credit history by getting a credit card from a company that normally caters for people with poor credit records. Though only borrow small amounts and pay it off fully each month, as you may be charged 40 or 50% if you don't! Banks are also tightening their security to prevent online fraud. The next time you buy something online, your bank may ring your mobile phone to check that the purchaser is really you. I only have a landline and when I tried to inform my bank of the new number, they had to send me a special security number through the post. Then when I phoned again to try to update the bank records I had to quote two random numbers from my security number. Anyway good luck and enjoy your time here in the UK.
Loved this it was really helpful, I'm moving London in a week. How do you find everything with lockdown? and what SIM card provider did you go with? Im having a hard time finding one
Oh wow nice, congrats! Lockdowns ok except the fact that everything closed haha. I went with EE since that was what's available at the airport, but if you can wait, I would pick up a sim locally or order one online since it's much cheaper! I can't get on a sim plan yet since I have no credit but you can get a pay as you go plan quite easily.
What’s the easiest way to look for a job in London while living in the United States if you’re planning on moving to London what websites are good also what websites are good for looking for a flat in London or a an apartment
I’m going to be touching down in December! I’m a dual citizen between Canadá and the UK. Let me know if you’d like to hang out when I’m back. I can recommend and show you some really cool spots in London 👌🏽
Just stumbled on this vid! Thanks for sharing your journey! The pandemic really put a couple roadblocks to my hop across the pond, so this was really informative! I hope you enjoy your time! Subscribed so I can live vicariously through you right now haha!
hey girl! i just stumbled on your channel and i'm also a torontonian living in london! i completely resonated with your anxiety about moving across the world by yourself + the absolute shite rental market haha hope you're doing okay during these crazy tier lockdowns!
Hi Monica, Great video! quick question, Was your UK biometric ID mail to you after you landed in UK? or did you pick it up at a local post office? thanks!
@@MonicaXGuan Thanks for the reply! follow up question sorry, did you indicate that on the application or did it defaulted when you put your London flat's address? :)
@@kapihanwithjohn1145 hmm I don't think that's possible? I just chose a place in central London that I knew I could get to. I didn't have an idea where I was going to live at the time. and I don't think you can change the location
Hmmm so different for everyone and depends on the industry. Personally I was able to get a referral but def there is competition for companies that actually sponsors visas unless your in a position/industry that’s high in demand.
I did! Actually, I'm not here completely alone. My bf lives in England, but just in another city so it's not too bad! 😅 Still need to spend some more time socializing and meeting new people. ^^;
When I moved the vaccines weren't available yet so they didn't have any rules around that 😅Although i don't think that will ever be a perquisite, you might just need to quarantine for longer.

Hmmm hard to say. Off the top of my head I would say the whole process to moving in and paying a deposit would be like 6-7k. Maybe I’ll make a video going more in-depth with an itemized list.
