ORA4 also has 24/96 on the DAC so high res audio can be played back. Adding a sub is likely to even out any difference in sound quality. Take your own music into a store and listen (not on Bluetooth or MP3 but any source that is not compressed and lossy).
I'm looking for something to replace my laptop speakers but also something i could connect to my LG Smart TV to give some boost in the sound while watching movies. Are the Creative Gigaworks t40 any good for this purpose or is this mainly for PC audio?
They're expensive and not ideal for a smaller desk like yours but if you want to have your mind blown, check out the Kali Audio Ultra-Nearfield Studio Monitor System sometime. I am absolutely shocked by how good they are. I probably shouldn't be as Kali Audio's monitors are some of the best in the business. That being said, I have Kanto TUKs, YUs and ORAs so I guess that makes me a fanboy. I can't wait to hear the soon to be released Kanto ORA4s and RENs. I can't share URLs through UA-cam so you'll have to Google those last two if you're curious. The ORA4s are a small improvement on the ORAs and the RENs are Kanto's first with HDMI.
I've been waiting for the ORA4. Supposed to be released in April, but Kanto delayed them to add some new colors (all matte): black, white, pink, red, and purple. They should hit North American warehouses in September. Source: I emailed their customer support and asked.
I like my Kanto YU2s but they've been RMA'd once under warranty and self-repaired out of warranty. I'm hesitant to get more of their stuff just for that.
On the super ultra expensive side I can recommend the very underexposed Airpulse A100 as an additional step up. The horn loaded ribbon tweaters are amazing for clarity and soundstage. With an external woofer attached it turned my desktop system to the only system I need.
Great video dude. My daily players are Edifier bookshelf units. But Im looking for a set for my 2nd rig, an Acer Spin 713, Pornitor (yes! thats right) 14" 2k portable monitor, and a Razer Atheris bt mouse. This is my travel rig so the speakers must fit in my Mobile Edge Alienware laptop backpack without crushing into screens. I can skimp on hotels, airfare, etc.. but I insist on having a decent setup in that fleabag hotel!
Jasper, what would you recommend for watching movies on my Macbook Pro at my desk? I have a 27 inch Dell monitor and I'd like a small set of speakers to use for movies. Something better than the built in speakers of my Macbook.
Glad you found it helpful! I'm working on a similar style video all about powered bookshelf speakers - be sure to subscribe if that sounds interesting! 🙂
Hi! What should I buy - Kanto ora yu6, audioengine P4 or iloud micro monitor? Only these three speakers are available in my country. I would like to buy the one with the best sound. I would be very grateful if you would answer
Hmmm. The P4 are passive speakers and the others are active. If you're looking for an active speaker to fill a whole room, I'd probably go for the YU6 or an Audioengine A5 (link below). These are both excellent speaker. If you're looking for a speaker for your desk, then I'd go for the Kanto ORA. If you're looking for a neutral sounding Monitor, then I'd go for the Iloud micro Monitor.
Hmmmm. The YU6 is a beast and will be able to fill a room and have more bass. The ORA is more neutral and good for listening if you're sitting close to the middle of the speakers. It really depends on your use case, but unless you want something to fill a room or want more bass without a sub, I'd go with the ORAs.
Hi everyone. I'm using Hivi Swan D1100 speaker and i feel its bass is really weak. In your opinion, in 100-200$ which sub or base speaker will be best suited for this ? Thanks all
Great video again! I'm guessing you are talking about the ones you have tried, but I'd add the Edifier MR4 for that budget range. Really good for the price.
@crazyprayingmantis5596 - thanks for this! I'm planning on making a new video in the next few months that include the MR4, Edifiers, and the ORA 4 once it’s released.
I've been eyeballing the Edifier r1280DBs. $150 for the pair, and ~$270 with the T5 subwoofer (iirc). The r1280Ts don't have the optical input. r980Ts are a bit cheaper as well at ~$90.
Your thoughts on the KANTO TUKS which i have but i wanna downsize a bit but still have amazing sound your thoughts ? I was thinking the Kanto ORAS with my Kanto 8Sub great video by the way I subscribed cheers from Canada
Just purchased the pebble v3 thanks to you. I’m not expecting anything great, I just need some cheap audio for my pc. Trying to move away from headphones and earbuds.
I have. I was basically ready to purchase them. Went to the store and tried them out. First of all, they don look that great for a proce. I like the design from pictures but in person they look a little cheap? Also the arr very long and they cant stand near a wall so it makes them a poor choice for desktop. And the sound is… not amazing. The highs are muddy and everything sounds kinda meh. I tried Argon Audio A5 MK2 and basically walked out of that store with these. Amazing crystal clear highs, nice bass, great and very clean design. Instant buy for me. But i bought them for tv, not desktop. Now im looking for desktop for desktop :D
Hey Jasper, thank you for this great comparison. Would you say the swans sound better then the ora's but are just bigger or are the ora's better in general? How do you think these two stack up against the t40's? Those have been my go to and I still like them but I have been wanting to upgrade them for quite some time now.
I think Presonus calls all speakers with one active side and one passive side Media Reference Monitors. Their Studio Monitors are have bi-amps in each speaker.
A question if I may; at what point is a decent sound card on the PC or laptop a requirement for these speakers? Will they function well with a basic laptop sound card?
Do you consider yourself an audiophile? Is so, then yes, getting a dedicated DAC will get you slightly better sound quality’s however, for the vast majority of people, the internal sounds card is totally fine. Also, if you use a speaker that has a USB input or via Bluetooth, that negates the need for any sound card since it provides a purely digital signal to the speaker.
I have two sets of Creative Gigaworks T40 series 2 and two sets of Presonus Eris E3.5 they are both great speakers , I use the Gigaworks T40 for movies and gaming and the Presonus Eris for music
Thanks for the video! It has some valuable information, but I think it would be even better if you allowed us to hear the speakers' audio directly. While your explanation about why it is good or not could make sense to people who are into tech, being able to actually hear how the speakers sounds would help us fully immerse ourselves in the experience/the thing you are trying to share to us. For example, at 1:50, you mention that it "will not have amazing bass" but it would have been great to hear how it actually sounds. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I wanted to share my thoughts. Thanks again for the video, and have a great day!
Nice to see the Swans! I've actually had them for like half a year now and they;re absolutely amazing. I wouldn't call the bass they produce "impressive", but it's the only non-positive thing I could say about them.
I disagree with the not getting the pebbles with the subwoofer . I have the V2's + subwoofer and the SB makes a big difference especially once I tuned it with APO Equalizer. I love bass and this combo gives me enough.
hey I am looking to get some new speakers and I'd like to go on the high end. My motherboard comes with alc1200 audio does the audio chip on the motherboard matter? And what if you use a amp?
If you use a speaker that supports USB-C input, then your sound card does not matter. I reccomend USB-C speakers to most people since that removes the potential of cable interference. If you're interested in high-end stuff, check out my video on the new ADAM Audio D3V. I compare them against some really solid options. ua-cam.com/video/-lq48iRy-kI/v-deo.html
I have the Logitech Z625, want to go to a 2 speaker only but I'm afraid of what I will lose wihtout a subwoofer. Can you recommend something "similar"?
Happy to help. What’s your budget? I have not yet tried the new Adam Audio D3V, but they have a passive radiator and look really promising. They’ll be released in a few weeks (and I will be doing a review).
@@Jasper_Tech anything under 200 would be reasonable. But I’m torn between doing a true 2.1 or just a cheap pair of pebble or something. I like your reviews, you think like me Was wondering if you heard about Fluance Ai41? I am between that and Kanto Ora's, not sure which to get yet, might get both and test out But Fluance Ai41 has RCA/Optical and Blueetooth While Kanto is more future proof with USB C, RCA and Bluetooth Although my TV does only have optical port and Bluetooth, hence why I'm a bit stuck :[
I don’t have any experience with the Fluance Ai41, but I’ll definitely look into it (maybe will include in a future video). Personally, I love my ORAs, but overall I agree - get both and compare! Nothing beats being able to compare speakers directly in the environment you’re going to use them in. Keep me posted on what you think.
pro tip: do yourself a favor if you want to play FPS games buy decent quality headphones because you'll get better precision of which sides the sound is comming which helps you predicting enemy movments
The room I have is barely 10 square meters and I am looking for nice 2.1 system. Got like 500-600 Euro to spend and I really cant decide. What would you recommend me? They are supposed to be used for overall use for PC and TV.
If they’re going to be used with a TV, I think a great option is the new Kanto REN because it has an HDMI port and ARC/CEC. I’m working on a review for it now and I’m very impressed. It has a sub out, but I think many people will find it’s not necessary. amzn.to/48FqJtC Otherwise, the ORA4 plus a Sub8 is a really nice combo, but just bear in mind it may be tough to connect it to your TV (no HMDI or optical).
@@Jasper_Tech oh Kanto Ren are speakers there is no sub with them. What I see here where I live from offered brands are Edifier, Polk, Q Acoustics, Klipsch, Bowers and Wilkins and Denon

Surprisingly they image really well and sound very full. They have no low bass but that is expected for something so small.

@helloyu6270 can you tell me more about what you’ll be using them for? Mostly audio production? Casual listening? A mixture? Will you be using them just at a desk, or do you also want to be able fill a room? And finally, what would you say are the most important factors?
Nice speakers! Did you ever try the Audioengine HD3? They're great!
I’ve never used them, but heard great things! Will have to check them out 👍
On the super ultra expensive side I can recommend the very underexposed Airpulse A100 as an additional step up. The horn loaded ribbon tweaters are amazing for clarity and soundstage. With an external woofer attached it turned my desktop system to the only system I need.
Great video! I got the Edifier S880DB Hi-Res a while back for less than $200 and they sound amazing for audio production.
Excellent deal!
This is a perfect video for this topic. You are a very good speaker and easy to listen to. Good job and thank you.
Thank you for the kind words 🙏
Great video dude. My daily players are Edifier bookshelf units. But Im looking for a set for my 2nd rig, an Acer Spin 713, Pornitor (yes! thats right) 14" 2k portable monitor, and a Razer Atheris bt mouse. This is my travel rig so the speakers must fit in my Mobile Edge Alienware laptop backpack without crushing into screens. I can skimp on hotels, airfare, etc.. but I insist on having a decent setup in that fleabag hotel!
I was honestly looking for a review on a cheap set of speakers for a second setup in the office, and the pebble really fit the bill :)
I have bought the newest pebble and send them back. Very disappointed.
@@pieterjdw I mean, I wasn't expecting the subbase response to be reference level 😅 but I was happy for a cheap pair of speakers. They still work!
Jasper, what would you recommend for watching movies on my Macbook Pro at my desk? I have a 27 inch Dell monitor and I'd like a small set of speakers to use for movies. Something better than the built in speakers of my Macbook.
thanks for the great video!
What About Speakers 5.1 And 7.1 For Pc ...And Best Sound Cards? Thanx
Awesome vid, thanks for this bro
The Audioengine A5:

@@Jasper_Tech Choosing between Kanto Ora and Kanto yu6 for desktop using which one had better sound?
Hmmmm. The YU6 is a beast and will be able to fill a room and have more bass. The ORA is more neutral and good for listening if you're sitting close to the middle of the speakers.
It really depends on your use case, but unless you want something to fill a room or want more bass without a sub, I'd go with the ORAs.
What do you think about the Edifier R1380DB?
Hi everyone. I'm using Hivi Swan D1100 speaker and i feel its bass is really weak. In your opinion, in 100-200$ which sub or base speaker will be best suited for this ? Thanks all
Great video thank you!
Great video again!
I'm guessing you are talking about the ones you have tried, but I'd add the Edifier MR4 for that budget range. Really good for the price.
Can't be beat for the price to performance ratio and I own much more expensive gear, I recommend the MR4s to anyone wanting desktop speakers
Would you consider the dayton audio m4? seems like a quality lesser known option
Great job bro 👍
Thank you 🙏
Your thoughts on the KANTO TUKS which i have but i wanna downsize a bit but still have amazing sound your thoughts ? I was thinking the Kanto ORAS with my Kanto 8Sub great video
by the way I subscribed cheers from Canada
I got some Edifier R980T, they may not be the greatest, but for 70Euro they do a really good job.
Just purchased the pebble v3 thanks to you. I’m not expecting anything great, I just need some cheap audio for my pc. Trying to move away from headphones and earbuds.
Would have been great to include the Pioneer DM40 BT , they sound pretty decent.
Kanto Ora or Vanatoo Transparent Zero Plus?
Where can I get ur wallpaper?
Thank you for the information much appreciated, Mad you didn't put screenshots for every speaker but very informative...
Helpful feedback! Will improve on the next one :)
Thank you!! Very informative. Have you ever tested the Q Acoustics M20s?
Their Studio Monitors are have bi-amps in each speaker.
thanks for the video review man! just what I was looking for
Cheers for the video. I bought the KantoORA's, love em
@@Jasper_Tech Thank you. I truly appreciate your detailed reply.
Great video!!
Thank you 🙏
I have two sets of Creative Gigaworks T40 series 2 and two sets of Presonus Eris E3.5 they are both great speakers , I use the Gigaworks T40 for movies and gaming and the Presonus Eris for music
I just want something that’s strong that’s would last me a while with good sound quality, it doesn’t have to be super loud, What do you recommend ?
What’s your rough budget and how much space do you have to play with?
Thanks for the video! It has some valuable information, but I think it would be even better if you allowed us to hear the speakers' audio directly. While your explanation about why it is good or not could make sense to people who are into tech, being able to actually hear how the speakers sounds would help us fully immerse ourselves in the experience/the thing you are trying to share to us. For example, at 1:50, you mention that it "will not have amazing bass" but it would have been great to hear how it actually sounds.
I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I wanted to share my thoughts.
Thanks again for the video, and have a great day!
Thanks for this suggestion. Will see if I can incorporate that into my upcoming videos.
how about creative t100? is this better than gigawork t40?
Would you recommend any of these for TV use? Would they have decent output for a “medium” room? Speaking generally obviously
Lol no... Get a soundbar
Nice to see the Swans! I've actually had them for like half a year now and they;re absolutely amazing. I wouldn't call the bass they produce "impressive", but it's the only non-positive thing I could say about them.
great video!
How do you think of M-audio bx3 compared to presonus eris3.5?
Between the Presonus 3.5 BT and the Swan OS-10, which is better for desktop music playing from computer?
I’d go for the Swans!
I disagree with the not getting the pebbles with the subwoofer . I have the V2's + subwoofer and the SB makes a big difference especially once I tuned it with APO Equalizer. I love bass and this combo gives me enough.
whats real is that they never hesitant to do negative things, and really thinks alot whenever its abt correct thing
hey I am looking to get some new speakers and I'd like to go on the high end.
So how do we power the speakers?? I have mine setup to go from my PC to an EQ then a power amp, then out to the speakers but I get some noise.
Thanks.
creative pebble with subwoofer on my 80 cm desk are amazing, sound good, can play loud, be carefully, at very loud volume bass can't keep up.
Which is the best for low volume listening when the kids are asleep?
My personal favorites are the Kanto ORA. Also check out my video on the ADAM Audio D3V
I need one that is 3.5mm what do you recommend? It will connect to my monitor.
What is your budget? The creative pebble are a solid cheap option that has a 3.5mm input.
amzn.to/4eme8hd
@@Jasper_Tech anything under 200 would be reasonable. But I’m torn between doing a true 2.1 or just a cheap pair of pebble or something. My monitor is now in a room with my computer now also connected to my 75 inch oled with a q990c. And I have Logitech g pro x 2 headphones for when I want to game hawrd. But I want good audio for my 40 inch desk with my 32 inch monitor that is on a monitor arm. 24 inch deep desk. Idk.
What about audio engine A5+? Its going for $400 this cyber monday. Is it still good compared to modern speakers even after 10 years after release??
It’s a solid speaker even all these years after it’s release. For $400 that seems like a good deal
hello, I have presonus 3.5 and i am consindering new and bigger ones for living room, do u know anything about the VULKKANO A5 ARC Active Speaker with 5.25 Inch Woofer? I would like to know your opinion.
Hmmm - I sadly do not know about this speaker
Do you need other devices to add when buying Kanto speakers or it is stand alone can plug automatically on desktop/laptop?
It’s standalone! All you need to do is plug it in and connect an audio source (can even be Bluetooth).
I like your reviews, you think like me
Was wondering if you heard about Fluance Ai41? I am between that and Kanto Ora's, not sure which to get yet, might get both and test out
But Fluance Ai41 has RCA/Optical and Blueetooth
While Kanto is more future proof with USB C, RCA and Bluetooth
Although my TV does only have optical port and Bluetooth, hence why I'm a bit stuck :[
Hello how repro have good sroound for FPS game ? Thanks
pro tip: do yourself a favor if you want to play FPS games buy decent quality headphones because you'll get better precision of which sides the sound is comming which helps you predicting enemy movments
The room I have is barely 10 square meters and I am looking for nice 2.1 system. Got like 500-600 Euro to spend and I really cant decide. What would you recommend me? They are supposed to be used for overall use for PC and TV.
Second this, i love to have a dedicated subwoofer although my budget is slightly less
If they’re going to be used with a TV, I think a great option is the new Kanto REN because it has an HDMI port and ARC/CEC. I’m working on a review for it now and I’m very impressed. It has a sub out, but I think many people will find it’s not necessary.
amzn.to/48FqJtC
Otherwise, the ORA4 plus a Sub8 is a really nice combo, but just bear in mind it may be tough to connect it to your TV (no HMDI or optical).
@@Jasper_Tech thanks
@@Jasper_Tech oh Kanto Ren are speakers there is no sub with them. What I see here where I live from offered brands are Edifier, Polk, Q Acoustics, Klipsch, Bowers and Wilkins and Denon
the presonus or edifier mr4?
Great video and insightful commentary, thank you!
I would like a review of the Edifier G2000 speakers for those interested in having a pair of speakers below 60 bucks (Pebble category). Nice channel though lad!
@@javierm.2808 I have the Edifier G2000. Sounds good baby sized monsters. They pack a punch. Bluetooth has good latency. Can also be vonnected thru usb or 3.5mm jack. Has 3 modes music, movies and gaming. Led color selection and modes. Can be turned off also. It has a sub out if you want more bass. For the price range and options its a real deal.
Another to check out if on a super budget is the Edifier R12U. I have them and they are super small, 2.25" woofer. They are USB powered and I use them when traveling with the laptop. Surprisingly they image really well and sound very full. They have no low bass but that is expected for something so small.
Do you have any input on KEF LSX 2 LTS? I keep seeing those all over the place but not sure if its worth the heavy price tag.
I have a pair! They sound phenomenal, however, their connectivity has been a bit hit or miss lately. I’d check out The Fives to see if they suit your needs.
@@Jasper_Tech I already pulled the trigger with kube 8. perfect for my desktop. what connection issue were you having?
Love the creative T40s, easily one of the best sub $100 options. That said, I am surprised you ignored one of the best budget speakers on the market. I'm talking about the Edifiers. They have options in every price category, and all of them are top notch.
Just wanted to follow up on this - you're right! I should have included some edifier options. I'm making a new video about bookshelf speakers and will be sure to include them. Thanks for the constructive comment 🙏
Great review for most of us that aren't looking to spend too much!
Thoughts on Adam T5V?
They are excellent! I may do a video featuring them in the future.
Here’s a link for those that are curious
amzn.to/4cCmhgE
@@Jasper_Tech do you have personal experience with them?
@helloyu6270 - yes, one of my good friends has a set of them.
@@Jasper_Tech how do they work for daily listening? Are they fatiguing at all or are there any better alternatives at the price?
@helloyu6270 can you tell me more about what you’ll be using them for? Mostly audio production? Casual listening? A mixture? Will you be using them just at a desk, or do you also want to be able fill a room? And finally, what would you say are the most important factors? I’m thinking things like size, neutral sound response, aesthetics, not fatiguing, bass response, etc.
No Edifier?Why?
I just ran out of $$ for this video 😞
Will try to include them in a future one!
@@Jasper_Tech Edifiers are the go to option for a lot of audio set ups. Its an amazing price to performance brand.
