HOF yes. JV is a great guy, met him as a kid playing for Dayton. He hasn't changed. Still mostly quiet and humble but when he wants he can be very entertaining and fun. He's is very generous to fans and helps people quietly off the record a lot more than he does at an event. He might be the last star baller who is loyal to his city/org/fans like it was 35 years ago. He's got a no trade clause without his approval. There's been opportunities but he's elected to stay in a small market largely out of loyalty. My biggest reason for being a Votto superfan. Long live the Capt. Votto (Mountie).
Joey is in this fase of his career so similar to the feeling of a middle school kid in the days previous to summer camp. He is so chill!! He did his job really well, and now he just have to end it properly. Great canadian sense of humor.
Unreal interview. I was listening to the re-air podcast (like I do everyday) and had to come over here to see if they left MFer in…which they did in the podcast and I almost died. Still laughing. Wow. New JV fan here!
Man as a Cubs fan, he’s a HOF no doubt, probably not first ballot, his ability to hit to all fields and his loyalty to Cincinnati is pretty unmatched. Consistently one of the best all around first basemen of the last 15 years. I’ve watched him continuously kick the shit outta my Cubbies.
"... I don't feel good because I dress like you." Love it! Why any active player of Joey's caliber would answer questions about his own HOF potential is beyond me. Monumental ego trap.
Votto has made major strides with the media as he aged which helps his Hall chances 100%. Great interview!!!!!! Joey will be in Cooperstown but not 1st ballot.
joey votto downplaying himself, even as an older pro, he would trash most of these yungns in a scrap....he is also a hall of famer, by far, despite what the organization has done to his win% over the last decade....the organization not even trying is a crime against joey votto!!!!
Whats is really better? Hall of fame? Or never having to pay for a drink/meal in Cincinnati the rest of your life joey? You are a hall of famer already 😂
I'm a Cardinals fan and have watched Votto for years and the announcers always say he's an odd duck, or he is an usual guy, or he has some weird quirks, so I paused today's Cardinals vs Reds game to look up an interview to see how weird he is. He seems very normal to me.
@@archie15900 yeah, I know this🤨 He also won the MVP in 2010 and shoulda won it again in 17' when he hit over .400 in the 2nd half of the season as well as leading the league in obp 7 times. However, he wasn't a 6 time all star at the time he signed the contract nor would his career numbers have that big ah impact at that point. But I'm sure he could've easily signed somewhere else, idk how much larger a deal he could've received, it was one of the largest when he signed.
@@archie15900 yeah I get what ur saying, it's a valid point. I really think it boils down to who Joey is, personality wise. He never seemed to want the spotlight, especially early in his career. Joey was one of the best players in the league imo for a lil while. I mean obviously Pujols was already "The Machine" by then so I would put Joey right behind him. In the end Joey got paid AND kinda flew under the radar so prolly a win win for him🤷♂️
By far the best interview so far this year
That was great
Ive never seen Votto in an interview and the dude just blew me away. This is the most relaxed I’ve ever seen an althlete in an interview
He needs to be the weekly baseball guest
2nd time he's been on and absolutely killed it.

I love Joey Votto. The only reason to watch the Reds these days.
Saw a short clip of the interview, had to seek out the whole thing. Totally worth it!
Love the Humboldt Broncos hoodie....mad respect Joey. Great interview.
I don’t think Dan realizes how special of a player Votto is. He has an MVP and is top 20 all time in OBP and top 30 all time in OPS. No doubt HOFer
Johnny Bench, Joey Votto...Those Reds are fun interviews! Time for Johnny again.
Dan Patrick saying "hall of very good" was a shitty thing to say.
As a Reds fan, I feel fortunate to have watched Votto and his HOF career.
Seriously. How many new fans does Joey have from this one interview? I'm on team Votto after this one
He’s going into a hall of fame (of some sort) at some point after his career. What a great guest!!
He'll be a lock for the Hall of Fame.
I Love him, at least the Canadian Hall of fame in St. Mary’s in Ontario
this may have been the best interview evaaaahhhh! kudos to Votto! (and DP of course).
I was almost late to my doctors appointment to listen to this interview in the parking. Great interview.
I had no idea Joey was that humorous. I’d heard over the years he was a m…f…r but he has a hall of fame future as a broadcaster
He's very witty. Listen to him on the Jim Day Podcast talking about having 7 cavities at the dentist.

Why is this the first time I'm hearing this guy - he's a natural - could be the next Bob Eucker.
I can see him as another pat McAfee but for baseball

Joey Votto is definitely a future hall of famer
Such a good interview.
THEY BLEEPED IT OUT! Glad I was listening to it live. xD
Johnny Bench, Ross Tucker and Joey V, can’t miss them.
"... I don't feel good because I dress like you." Love it!

Great interview
Love this guy. He probably won't make Brady money, but it's hard to believe he won't be great working in the media.
Nobody is getting brady money. He got double the amount romo got. Everyone thought that was insane.
I just love Joey 😆
Votto wears the same hoodie from his last interview on the DP Show back on August 8, 2021
Votto has made major strides with the media as he aged which helps his Hall chances 100%. Great interview!!!!!! Joey will be in Cooperstown but not 1st ballot.
Left the Hall of Very Good Commenters to hear this for the first time. Just brilliant!
Such a class act
Votto is a compliment to professional baseball.youngsters should take notice..
If we would have had this interview sooner, the Danette's would have finally got their Sports Emmy.. You got yours Dan,, help the boy's get theirs..
Votto is a hall of famer
DP living vicariously thru his interviews...again haha
If baseball were anywhere close to football’s popularity, JV would be getting twice what TB12 will be getting in a booth.
Great stuff fellas

He is in Cooperstown
“What am I, some kind id tough guy??…” “I’m a coward.” 🤣. Self-deprecation is the best humor
Release the uncensored version.
Want MacAfee to interview him. It'd be awesome. Look forward when Joey is on the radio or podcast.
Subtle Street Fighter reference. Well played.
WOW! That was great.18 minutes went buy like 30 seconds.
That....was an "All 🌎 World" interview. Dan pushed the buttons but Joey brought it home. ⚾️💪🇨🇦
DP Crew,
New t-shirt "Nice walk, MFer" designed with a straight line from home to 1B...or BB symbols....
League leader in OBP seven times...
Hall of the Very Good is probably where Votto ends up at, but this was a Hall of Fame interview.
Its from Jimmy Fallon and the Tonight Show
holy shit that was good
Whats is really better? Hall of fame? Or never having to pay for a drink/meal in Cincinnati the rest of your life joey? You are a hall of famer already 😂
One of my fav players not on my team
Joeys cool AF

Hall of Fame personality
No doubt Hall of Famer
Hilarious
his mannerisms remind me of an actor - ryan reynolds?
Can the Reds just make him player manager so he stays in Cincinnati. Wait never mind he deserves better than the Reds.
Pretty sure tight pants is from the tonight show with Jimmy Fallon, not SNL.
Paint it black was a concerning walk up song.
Dan did Joey do something to go at him so hard? You obviously know him well because the ball breaking was at a different level with him.
We need that tee shirt
The Dan ladies still get mad about the Astros is 2023! It’s probably because they’re teams didn’t cheat as well.
Those hoodies are runny $100 each!
Shame Joey has spent a career in obscurity in the pit that is Cincinnati
Well said
@@archie15900 yes, a $225 million contract can inspire loyalty in even the worst of mankind.
Without that "pit" there would be no baseball. Not to mention having fielded the greatest team in the history of the game.

He’s a punk
Definitely a Cubs fan
